*drum roll* I know a few of you internal green people have been waiting on this grow. I finally popped the Slurricane seed by In House Genetics. Props goes to BudXs who is fulfilling my as my grow mentor, father figure, and attorney. The genetics are Dosidos X Purple Punch. The former has been on my genetics bucket list. This is day 2. My tent is hung mylar in an unfinished basement with the top sealed to trap the heat. The lighting has recently taken a hit, which actually delayed this diary a bit. I had my fans cut out on one of my cheap LEDs, which turned into more substantial damage. My friend is happy to fix it but it will take time. For now, I’ll boost with 64 watts of fluorescent that I have, in addition to the 300 actual full spectrum watts leftover. I included the damaged light pics. I seeded in a peat pod, just in a cup of HP Pro Mix. So, go give my good Canadian boy BudXs some love 🇨🇦. Go like his diaries. I swear its not a scheme. Hit the like button. Like! LIKE! It actually reminds me of relevant song lyrics, “🎵 All you know about me is what I've sold ya, dumb fuck I sold out long before you'd ever even heard my name I sold my soul to make a record, dipshit And then you bought one🎶“

Day 7 for Slurricane, call it week two as we are entering a new week, and I want to get it on cycle with my other diaries. Trying not to kill it. I overwatered earlier in the week when just being clumsy. I just was less than precise in the moment. Looks fine.

Day 14 for yee olde Slurricane. Everything is alive. I transplanted this week into a larger comtainer and amendment. I’m using Gaia Green 4-4-4 All Purpose as they advise, and the medium ratio worked out to be 15 parts HP Pro Mix: 1 part perlite: 1 part worm castings. I also used Myke Flower mycorrhizae. I did a tea again because of the success with other plants. This time, I reduced the strength a bit using 20 Liters of water, one cup of blood and bone meal, one cup of alfalfa meal compost, two cups of worm castings, 1 tablespoon of Gaia Green All Purpose amendment, 1 tablespoon of blackstrap molasses. I did not have Myke on hand so I just tossed in two cups of HP Pro Mix soil, which has mycorrhizae. It would jus be trace as opposed to concentrated culture. I periodically pulsed the stew with a concrete mixer/drill and let it sit over night. The next day I diluted and fed to the plants. Probably shouldn’t have given it to these young ones but I did, I’m sure I’ll hear an earful from BudXs. 🙊🙊🙊🙉 I’m excited to be getting my other LED back soon. My good friend is really a peach and fixed it up, sending me a few pics I’ll throw in for fun. Cheap equipment is no problem if you have a brain to fix it (not mine🐒💩). MaxPointy, come back to GrowDiaries!

Day 21 for Slurrrrrrrrrrricane. Just growing away and ready for a transplant this week. A little lanky and stretchy, I’m expecting bunches of bud. Slurricane got some preventative pest treatment in the form of Safer’s potassium based soap and neem oil sprayed. I repeated the overnight steeped tea for the last time this summer. Same process and ingredients the same: blood and bone meal, alfalfa meal compost, worm castings, Myke mycorrhizae and blackstrap molasses. Its been awhile but I’lll note I did get my other LED back. So back to 600 actual watts total.

Day 28 for Slurricane. The week’s events: pest treatments always. I am likely excess potassium or stressing it a bit, but god damn I’m not going back. Potassium based soap and neem oil. I treated after photos today and you can see in the group shot everyone is drooped. I also transplanted. The roots don’t lie, Slurricane bringing up the rear in this trip of similar starting points. I used HP Pro Mix, added a small amount more perlite, Myke Flower mycorrhizae and 4-4-4 Gaia Green All Purpose dry amendment at recommended strength. I gave some CalMag with water today. I noticed that the three similar aged plants were stretching badly, my tent is out of control! I’ve had two non-GrowDiary plants totally overrunning things, and then others doing well too. I have made some other adjustments, Beans taking care of business, and so the group shot reflects less plants in veg. In performing LST, surprising considering how stretched and malleable, Slurricane’s stalk broke! HST it is then. Seems fine, repairing itself, and looking for light. Now, lets put some weight into those branches please.

Day 35 for Slurricane. The younglings are desperate for light, and I can see this strain just likes to be lanky anyway. I took two high quality clones which were main branches, so now I can grow some more potential clones. If I only end up with one crown thats fine if the goal of cloning is accomplished. Just water with Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag) every other time. I can’t wait to transplant this one for the last time.

Day 42 for Slurricane. I transplanted earlier in the week, into HP Pro Mix, 4-4-4 Gaia Green All Purpose amendment and Myke Flower mycorrhizae. Pretty underwhelming root system. Still struggling with the ranginess of this strain, coupled by overcrowding by other giant bushes. The genes are tough on top of overcrowding, even the potential clones off the main stalk, getting light, have such a spaced third node its basically impossible to give them a chance to thrive. My clone box is full, with multiple Slurricanes, and I will continue to clone more and more until I get success. I will look to try to nab a tomato cage somewhere as BudXs suggested, I’ve just had other priorities. I can get funky and train is forever if I wish, so no rush. I’m going to clear out many of these plants at week’s end.

Day 49 for Slurricane. Time to get creative. I cleared the veg. tent out so lots of light, but I haven’t been kicking ass with cloning as described. To ensure I have chances, and to compensate for the stretched plant, I’ve used a plastic tomato cage. This was meant for a large pot which is convenient because it can torque and bend, and transplanting may be possible. I’ve sacrificed a beast plant for clones. I’ve never been about looks anyway. At least I’ll have flowering support if it doesn’t rip itself apart in stretch. I’ve already reaped the reward with extra cloning attempts this morning. Going to need CalMag again soon.

Day 56 for Slurricane. I haven’t done well so far, and have accepted my eventual showing up by WildeWeed and lashings by BudXs. Ahh well, whatever. Still forging on. Ran into nutrient trouble as the Gaia Green runs out. The plan changes every other moment for this plant, and so I gave some 24-8-16 All Purpose Miracle Grow with some Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag), to just do something. We will see what my next step is. Despite the challenges with the strain, I have learned it can be tough as nails. I broke the main stalk not once but twice this week trying to bend it into the tomato cage. It barely noticed and repaired itself quickly. I also topped the main crown because it was growing so damn fast, and the rest not off branching despite being horizontal.

Day 63 for Slurricane. One week of flowering complete! Indeed, I pulled the trigger which could be seen with mixed reviews. The grow hasn’t gone as planned at all. Now, Slurricane seems to be growing well which was not on pace with my HPS tent - no way I could have vegged for seven more weeks. I was sort of forced into the decision. I top dressed with worm castings, and have been trying to water the previous food through. After photos I prevent treated for pests one last time. I have been consistent. This tent, which is my original first indoor tent, has a combined 546 LED watts split between multiple lights.

Day 70 for Slurricane. Two weeks of flowering complete, eight weeks to go? Maybe? I am really thrilled with the progress this week. The hype for stretch by BudXs was bang on, really loves to reach for the lights. I’m letting it dry out after giving 0-10-10 Alaska Morbloom and added blackstrap molasses and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag). I finally got my heat pump installed and even though the air conditioner isn’t really needed I still have the centralized fan circulating air. This tent already had an inline and so I just put it back in. The thermometer is right on the ground.

Day 77 for Slurricane. Three weeks of flowering complete, sevenish weeks of flowering to go. Baboom, great progress. I’ll let BudXs weigh in on his theories of phenotypes. I fed 0-50-30 Fox Farms Beastie Bloomz with added blackstrap molasses and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag) mid week and let that dry up, and applied water last night as I alternate to balance things. I will reapply once it dries again. Nitrogen demand for other absorption has been minor as the leaves are still fairly green. I for sure missed measuring last week so a deceptive statistical jump in height.

Day 84 for Slurricane. Four weeks of flowering complete, about six weeks to go. No change with food just alternating water and 0-50-30 Fox Farms Beastie Bloomz with blackstrap molasses and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag). Because this tent is cooler compared to my HPS tent, it dries out slower. The buds are really frosty and you can see it is a strain with good trichome production. I thought I was going to mess this up but it looks like the genes prevailed - BudXs was right.

Day 91 for Slurricane. Five weeks of flowering completed. It doesn’t make sense to go one extra week on this one when the whole tent will be finished in four weeks, so I will be calling it quits then. I have finished with the Beastie Bloomz and the last irrigation was water, so the next will be Alaska Morbloom as I fade it away. The colours are really popping. The buds themselves are gooey and sticky, reminiscent of Dutch Passion’s Strawberry Cough in alot of ways. The smell just seems dank so far. There is another aroma in the tent dominating the others, I thought it was Slurry, but I don’t think so. I wish I could capture the trichomes on all leaves, they are there. Really over the top crystal.

Day 98 for Slurricane. Six weeks of flowering complete, I’ll go about three more weeks. As I fade food and alternate with water, almost there. I think there will be one more feeding of 0-10-10 Alaska Morbloom with blackstrap molasses and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag). The smells are sweet, dank, I’ll have to wait for details. Interesting colours coming out of the leaves, I’m guessing linked to iron maybe, but you should all know my indifference for details. You can see I’m going to get some dank buds, and many clones to follow. See?

Day 105 for Slurricane. Seven weeks of flowering complete, I’ll give her two more weeks of my time. Every day is a new look and I wish I had a camera lens and skills to really show appreciation to what I’m experiencing in person. I won’t be able to nail the visuals again. I allowed it to soak up the last feeding and now I’ll start into water until the end. The stickiness has been replaced with density. Frosty!

Day 111 for Slurricane. Eight weeks of flowering complete and I’ve got a bullseye on one more week. She is a visual beauty, no doubt. Great genes. I’ve got a mandate so these plants will be moving along and onto the next round, it will get some extended dark this week. Just giving bits of water and letting it dry. Almost there.
