So with the Bubba Kush Auto done it's time to try a photo-period. Wanted to do a classic strain so i decided on Northern Lights by Sensi Seeds. Bought a 5 pack of Northern Lights and got a freebie seed with it. So i decided to go with the freebie. I've never seen such a vigorous germination before. She popped right out of the shell on day 3. Planting her above ground was another first for me. She is very eager to grow, high expectations with this one.
Decided to ditch Advanced Nutrients for the foreseeable future and try a granulated fertilizer. It is called Plant Prod MJ and is made up of 4 different formulas for the different stages of growth. I'll will be monitoring EC along with the PH as usual.
Very light first feeding with the Plant Prod MJ Boost formula. Its a 15-30-15. 1.0EC, 6.0PH, 1 liter. My water has a starting EC of 0.2. Trying a lower PH this time around too.
12/12 starting on day 56. Switched to the Boost formula 15-30-15 for bud set. Lowered the EC to provide less Nitrogen. Not sure if my slightly clawed leaf tips is Nitrogen toxicity.
Not much happening this week. Very happy to see the clones root. First time using the Stim Root #1. Root zone check , PH 6.3, EC 1.5. I had a moderate excess of nutrients and have brought it down to a mild excess. No leaf burn or anything like that but this plant wasn't a heavy feeder. Will get that dialed in before switching to Bloom nutes.
All is well this week. Upped the nutrients a little bit as she is starting to put on flowers. She's a thirsty girl, going dry in 3 days now instead of 5. Starting to see trichomes on the sugar leaves. No odor so far. The new fans are working great!
Start of the 3rd week since flipping 12/12. Increased bloom nutes to 1.7ec and again to 2.0ec. Very little odor on this strain. What i am smelling is earthy and a little fruity. Resin is starting to show more now.
Started flush on Day 108. 4 liters of Flawless Finish solution, with an 10 hour soak. Followed by a 30 liter flush. EC runoff knocked down to 0.8. Day 112 she is starting to get purple. A further 6 litres of straight ph'd water. Harvest should be next week :)
Sensi Seeds Northern Lights was a joy to cultivate. Very easy to grow. Handled defoliation, supercropping, lst, just fine. Very pleased with my new nutrient regimen and this plant responded very well. No signs of deficiencies or excess the entire grow. Even though towards the end my runoff had rather high EC, the plant never showed me any signs it was in danger. Lower PH this entire grow too, pleased again with the results. Flushed for 14 days, rough trim then hung entire plant whole for 10 days to dry. Cut and put in jars and vacuum sealed bag with 57% rh Boveda packs for curing. 2 weeks curing then final weight taken.
