FrankCastle First time grower. Using Mother Earth's 70/30 coco/perlite. 800w LED COB. 4x4x6.6 mylar tent+inline fan+carbon air filter+2 small fans. Noticing some stress which I was struggling to diagnose. I believe there is some leaf edge canoeing/cupping which seems to be a result of overwatering. I was watering 1.5x a day fully saturating medium and because of high humidity inside the tent I believe the medium could never properly dry out. Not watering until top of coco is somewhat dry from here on out. Strawberry Nuggets sprouted 7/7. DG and SS sprouted 7/8. Currently Day 10/9. Don't mind the two basil plants.

FrankCastle As a newbie, diagnosing issues is difficult when there are several variables. I aerated my pots several times, watered less and it seems like growth slowed. It's possible root stress may not have been the problem for leaf cupping. I had lights 26" from plants which is farther than manufacturer recommendation. I just raised to 39". Starting to water more frequently. This first diary is a bit unorganized. My next grow will be more structured as I am still learning.

FrankCastle This is day 22 for SN and day 21 for the rest. Lights have been between 25 and 28 inches as I experiment with troubleshooting the leaf cupping. Learned a lot by making mistakes.

FrankCastle Day 35 SN. Day 34 all others. Some may be flowering. Biggest struggle this grow was upward leaf cup. Think it was light intensity from this chinese LED COB. Got worse when lowered. Two plants have yellowing intervening that matches mag def. Could be pH also. Just realized calmag should be 5mL coco 2mL soil so my dose has been low. Gradually transplanting 1gal to 3gal. Having difficulty lowering humidity below 62. Normal temp/rh is 79/64 when I run dehumidifier it goes eventually to 69/70.. kind of confusing. If I blow hot air in room i can get it to 85/55 but not sure if 85 temp is a good trade off. Did some LST, made me nervous, but little leaves underneath are exposed and growing.

There is no such thing as over watering Coco. If you check out my grow we can follow each other and help each other out if your interested! I use mother earth Coco as well for first time. There is the fact that because Coco has absolutely no nutrients what so ever you need to feed that Coco with Calimagic every watering along with other nutes. Coco loves calcium and magnesium and will soak up all of it before your plants get any and plants need the calcium and magnesium as well. Look up Fertigation in Coco and I think you will agree that your plants need the Calimagic NOW!😳 Happy Growing!👍

@SmokinTrees, I will definitely follow you. I have been very unorganized with this diary and this grow, but learning at a rapid rate which is awesome. I forgot to add calmag to the diary but I have been applying 2mL every fertigation. At the very least one of my plants are quite over-watered, which isn't necessarily a coco-issue, which is why you'll see over-watering in coco, even though it has little to do with the coco. My humidity levels were too high early and my medium was too large for the size of the plant from transplanting too early and after 3 days of no watering it was still damp at the top of the medium. I had fabric pots sitting on a saucer and it wasn't until recently that I noticed that when I inspected the medium the bottom of the pots were having serious drainage complications. After a little research I found a couple growers who experienced this issue and told me I can't leave pots sitting in saucers because there is little room at the bottom for air to dry and I will have uneven moisture levels throughout the medium. I'm thinking about adding a small layer of perlite to the bottom of my final 3 gallon pot on the last transplant. I found some metal cookie sheets that separated the saucer from the pots so that airflow can get to the bottom of the pots. Several plants are suffering from leaf cupping upwards/folding and all signs point to heat stress, although my temperatures are always within 79-82 F. I read that poor drainage will most definitely cause leaf cupping and when combined with high temps the leaf curls to preserve moisture, but some of the leaves have really folded more than I am comfortable with so I am hoping I remedied this. I tried to gently move and break up the coco so it wasn't compact and dense. I took one of my plants that look healthy with no signs of leaf cupping and positioned it directly in the center of the light where it should be the hottest. If it starts to show signs of leaf cupping then I know I just need to raise the lights.
