Start of Week: Day 1
Intro:
Hello fellow grower! This is going to be my second grow. I’m still in the flowering stage of my first, but I want to try and get another grow done hopefully before Halloween, so I’m going to start on my next one now. I bought a few different seeds when I was going to start my first grow, so I am going to put six seeds in coco coir: two OG Kush from Seedsman, two Blueberry from ILGM, one Northern Lights also from ILGM, and one Lemon from Seedsman. All seeds are auto flowering. My plan is to germinate in water and place the seeds directly into their final pots. And since this is only my second grow I want to do some more experimenting. I’m going to be using four 1-gallon pots (one for each strain) and two 3-gallon pots (one for an OG Kush plant and one for a Blueberry) and I am planning on keeping them in these pots till harvest. I know that this will restrict the plants growth and might stunt them, but I’ve seen a few journals using only 1-gallon pots that had great results. Yields might be small, but if I’m successful I will have four different strains of flower going into the holiday season. I will be doing some training in this grow; mostly bending and tucking. But I’ve also seen some good results from topping autos, so depending on the growth rate I’m going to top some if not all the plants. Happy growing!
[07/21: With the exception of one Blueberry seed and the Northern Lights seed, none of the seeds have germinated. I gently applied pressure to try and get them going by opening them slightly, then I potted them. I’m going to keep watering for about a week or two and see if anything happens. I want to point out that I didn’t properly store my seeds after I got them. I just left them on my desk, so I don’t think this shows an accurate representation of germination rates for the seeds. Hopefully they get going.]
I placed one Northern Lights Auto seed in lukewarm tap water at 12am on 07/18. The seed opened about 60 hours later (07/20), so I place it in a 1-gallon pot of coco coir soaked in plain water at 6.11pH. Since then I gave the seeds a few drops of plain water about every 12 hours.

Week 2 - Seedling Day 8
07/31: I’m going to keep up the tradition and name this plant Nea. One week after breaking free and she is already working on her second set of leaves. I now have the blue vegging light on and still have the water bottle over the plant.
08/02: Nea is growing the fastest and is looking good. Her third set of leaves are starting to come out. I gave her a full flush of nutrient solution. I now have both slight switches on to give her full spectrum lighting and I still have her covered with the bottle.

Week 6: 08/28-09/03
09/03: Been neglecting my journals, but not my ladies. Nea is doing great! I was scared of topping autoflowers on my first grow, but I went for it on this one. Topped Nea 08/25, 33 days after breaking the coco. A combination of the topping and the white paper allowed Nea to get a lot of light, so she has about 8 colas forming. The top 4 look pretty similar in size.

Start of Week 7
Sep. 04, 2020: Day 43 since break
09/07: Started some LST this week. The topping helped a lot in providing more light for the lower growth. Nea is steadily growing in size. I’m curious to see how long she’ll veg in a 1-gallon pot.

Week 12
Day 18 of flowering.
10/10 - Third week of flowering. Gave the first watering of mid-bloom nutrients. EC levels in runoff were high, so last watering I gave was pure water. This time they were in a better range. Overall she is looking great. There are a few leaves with damaged, but these are the same leaves that were hurt a few weeks ago when I under watered her. All new growth is looking great.

Day 32 of Flowering
10/23: It has been a while since my last update. Buds are getting bigger and pistils are turning brown. Seems way too soon for harvest, but I’ll still keep an eye on the trichomes for color change. The only change in height has come from the buds fattening. pH of runoff is good, but EC levels are a bit high. And as of now, the only damaged leaves are the ones that were damaged a few weeks ago. Overall she is looking good.
