I started this one a little late, on May 9th and I'm only transferring my log data to this platform now; trying to get all my grows in one place :) This is my first outdoor regular Photoperiod grow. I'm growing this Acapulco Gold from Barney's in a 5gal bucket; soil is a 3-3-2-1 mix of Peat, Compost, Perlite & Vermiculite. She'll live outside in our small backyard and I'll move her around to chase the sun :) I've constructed a small greenhouse type shelter for her, and my outdoor autos to stay in overnight to be safe from critters and so that my partner doesn't have to move them around if it's stormy when I'm not here.
Germinated the seed in rockwool in a humidity dome, then transferred to her pot almost immediately when she popped up. I've got the bucket in the basement under 4 CFL's until they can go outside.
I was planning on letting her grow naturally for my first grow just so I could see how it goes, but I decided to try my steady hand ... and I did it! Topped successfully!
Enjoying watching her grow after being topped. Especially with the Covid-19 Pandemic "lockdown" I've been working from home so I can really babysit my girls and watch every minute of their growth :)
It's been super hot outside but this girls seems to be loving it. She's in the greenhouse during the week, but get's to bask in the full sun on weekends when I'm home. My 3-3-2-1 soil is pretty light and airy, and she's really thirsty, so she's been getting water everyday, sometimes twice on weekend when she's in the sun. This is the only regular plant I'm growing this year, the rest are autoflowers. I was nervous about topping her as it was my first time, but it turned out great; shes got 4 main stems now, and I'm really enjoying watching her grow!
Quick update this week, just watering and feeding. Its been really hot and humid this week again so she's drinking tons. I tihnk she may be really close to pre-flowering, we'll have to see when I see her this weekend.
AG here is just barely starting to flower. A few of her leaves have tiny yellowing on the tips. I've eased back her nutes a bit, since my autos all got nute burn, I figured better safe than sorry :) She looks super healthy though, I'm really excited to see how my first photoperiod plant flowers!
weathers been a little crazy the past week and the wind knocked her over and broke on branch. We got it splinted with a pencil and it seems to be ok :)
