Hi gals and girls and others,
MacLimbo here, from NL.
First grow since about 15 years.
Outdoor, bio, both soil and feeding, autoflower: Tha Shiznit by Short Stuff.
Looked into a lot of tutorials online and decided to try (early) topping and LST.
May 14th soaked the seed in paper and waited for a root.
2 days later the root came out so I put her in her soil, root-tip down, 10-12 mm. deep.
EDIT: average around 9-10 weeks. Mine will need a bit longer I think. Gonna try to top her 3 times.
19-5 she's about 4 cm now, soil is starting to go dry, so gave some water with a little bit of Canna BioRhizo and Bio Flores.
20-5 first 'real' leaves starting to show. put her outside, sunshine, 22 degrees C. 6 hours of direct sunlight.
At night she gets a relaxing 12 W LED 6400K. The whole week. Not all the night, not every night, but it helps.
The nutrient bottle was an advice from a fellow grower.
I gave him some of my BioCanna products to test on his ladies. Waiting for feedback.
25-5 she is 7 cm, looks like second pair of leaves are coming tomorrow.
I planned to try to top her 2 or 3 times, quite early.
With all the risks of maybe stalling or stunting her, like I read and seen on forums on the web. Just trying.
Remember, it's my first time in over 15 years now, so some things have changed, a lot!
Especially in the AutoFlower area.
Never heard of it until this spring. 😂
2-6 still little watering, 3rd pair of leaves is visible.
I dropped the pot, 😞 she doesnt look damaged or disturbed.
Filled up the pot again, but now a bit higher soil level,
I always do that now when I first plant a seedling into the soil:
Fill the pot a little lower with soil, so not upto top level.
In that way you can cover the stem a bit when it gets too thin and very long, by just filling up the pot with soil to the preferred level.
Also use it when I transplant my plants to a new, bigger pot. Works fine for me.
6-6 third pair of leaves really visible and looking good, 6 cm total now.
Checked for roots through my special root-check-door. Check picture.
The idea was to not disturb the plant by thurning it upside down when checking for roots.
I know: you can just look into the bottom holes, but that just doesn't give you the full picture.
8-6 transplanted her to a 20 L pot filled with the same soil, with some Biocanna Rhizo and Vega added to the soil previously.
Gave her enough pure water after the operation, she looks okay, not totally straight, but I didn't want to give the roots extra stress,
so I hope nature will figure that out by herself.
2 or 3 days later the 4th node had grown about 1 cm above the third, I wanna top above the third.
Looks like no visible stall from the transplant.
Topped it above node 3, left a little stem, about 3/4 of a cm.
Put her under the LED for the rest of the day and night instead of outside. 18 degrees daytime, nights much colder.
Looks fine the next day, after 2 days a nice V-shape, but not ready for LST yet.
16-6 I wanna go for a kind of mainlining but with some extra options.
So I did the topping above 3rd node. Left all the nodes and leaves on the plant for now, she will need them for photosynthesis.
In the following week I removed node 2. So node 1 and 3 are still on the plant.
ADVICE: I will never do this again, the first node SUCKS (on most of my plants) , so remove that one and save or leave 2 and 3 instead!
22-6 She was topped the second time, just a week after first topping.
Like I said before, I wanna top as early as she will allow me without stunting her.
I improved the LST, she doesnt look happy at first, especially after I removed some leaves.
But a few days later she is starting to look fine again.
Improving LST daily, leaves are coming back on the right places now, looking more healthy again 😷
If she recovers quick enough I will top her a 3rd time soon.
30-6 She had quite some LED at night, outside during the day.
Growth and leaves look good.
Did the 3rd topping last weekend. Again: a very early and short topping. Just trying my luck.
She looks sad after that, even more after LST. But only a few hours later she looks happy again.
Look at those biceps on such a small plant 💪

4-7 Improved LST. At least 12 cola's, still no flowering, but that's not strange when you consider what I put her through.
6-7 First flowering visible !
Gonna change my feeding to 50/50 growth/flowering next week. This week still all growth and Rhizo.
Removed some small growth and kept spreading the branches and leaves. After this she should get at least a week of rest.
I am looking for vertical cola growth and all looks promising. I'll try to get a good picture so I can show you.
13-7 this wekend I took off the LST to let her get a natural shape again.
And observe how fast this was gonna happen. Let me tell you: FAST !
After a very sunny day outside without her bondage, I found her looking just a little bit more naturally shaped, so I adapted the LST to that.
Took a picture to show you how low she really is. The soil is about 5-6 cm. below the top of this 20 L pot.
And the vertical growth of the cola's.
Messed up something in the week-sequence, and lost some pictures, but hey, now we are LIVE!
The girl with the biceps went to the gym and was entertained with just BioCanna Flower (stopped with the growth feeding) and Rhizo since about a week or so.
Flower is really showing and building, I did remove some small growth and keep improving LST.
Check out the vertical growth of buds...
And she is thirsty!
NIce and sunny outside now, but only about 6-7 hours of direct sunlight.
But look at her... my first autoflower 😇
On each top branch (8) there are at average 4 usable growthspots, so that's 32.
The lower branches are from node 1, because I removed node 2 following a tutorial.
There are only 1 maybe 2 small usable growthspots there per lower branch.
I SHOULD have removed node 1 and leave node 2 and 3 on the plant!
There is much more potential in node 2 and than in node 1.
At least, in my setup with my strains and so on. I appreciate comments and advice.

Temp. is 32 degrees C and higher for about a week to come, high night temps too and low humidity.
Keep improving LST daily, she keeps ripping some of the wires out of the soil on a daily basis.
Wanna keep her as horizontal as possible, to get that vertical cola growth.
I noticed some spots of strange growth on the bottom of the buds, looks like signs of hermaphrodite if I remember right. 😲
I'll try to get a good picture so I can show you, and them remove them.
If I give her some rest after that and don't stress her any extra it should normally be okay.
I know I stress my little babies a bit much with the early HST and almost daily LST, but that was my plan:
Early, Short and Low profile.
Defoliation and stress (and other techniques) may cause herma's, but when you don't try, you'll never know.

I don't know who told you that mate but chill out, ask the questions before employing the tactics, you just removed all the pussy hair from your girl, don't do it again lmao
But you got it man, we learn from mistakes and you learned about 3 lessons from this one, 1° always fact check, 2° ask first, act later, 3° do not remove female calyxes and what are female calyxes.
So i would say it was a good day for you.
Congrats on the female tho, lets hope she won't turn into a feminist after what you did to her, that's the last thing we need in this comunity, feminist weed.

Weather is crazy hot outside, 36 C, nights almost 30, very little wind, 35 % humidity.
I only go out on my rooftop terrace to water and inspect and rotate the girls.
But, the girls love it 😎
Keep spreading the LST, to stimulate vertical growth. Little defoliation.
The canopy looks nice and even, I shot some before and after pictures for you to see.
I give her some extra water, every second evening, without feeding in it, and watch for just a little run-off, not even half a coffee cup spilled.
She looks okay, smells okay, the soil is always a bit moist on the top these extreme hot days, but I rather spoil her a bit for now.
I am curious what age she's gonna reach. We are in week 13 now, her head came above ground on the 18th of may.
Average 60-70 days, mine is around 90 days old, and only about 17 cm in height with her LST.
But she had quite some TLC, LST and HST since that. 3 toppings and a transplant to her 20 L paradise.
She's keeping me happy and satisfied sofar. Rewarding and enjoyable. 👍
Update: my NYC Auto, see my other Diary, was attacked by a bird.
I lost about 20% of my max potential with that plant, so I needed to protect my Tha Shiznit to prevent that.
Now you can see why I kept her that low, and exactly within the container's outer perimeter.
When I remove the LST of the 2 pairs of lower branches, they pop-in a bit above the canopy, and the cage I made for it fits snugg and tight.
Still room for her to grow the buds vertically.
Some leaves around the perimeter suffer from the cage, but for now I think she's got enough other leaves left per bud-site.

That was a nice week for the girls, but not for people.
Now around high twenties, low 30's.
Continued LST, to keep her within the Anti Bird Cage. The 2 lower pair of branches need a different approach.
For each pair, I'm gonna let 1 grow up towards the hole in the middle of the canopy, and the other one tucked in below the upper branches.
I turn the plant at least 2-3 times a day, so there should be no light issues from that.
Because I have to use my Anti Bird Cage now, I'really happy I kept her that low and confined within the pot's diameter.
One thing that bugs me, and I wish to share with you: 😞
She wasn't transplanted precise enough. Not exactly in the middle I mean.
The inner pot diameter is 35 cm, and her 'waist' sits at around 19,5 or 20.
That's only 2-3 centimeters, but it makes a whole lot of difference around the edges of the pot...
On one side there is an open hole of 3 or 4 cm's to the pot-wall.
On the other side, the buds are almost pushed against the cage that I'm forced to use when I'm not at home.
This can be corrected by LST, but it would've been nicer if I'd had foreseen this earlier, or prevented it to begin with. 😉
Just some advice for other first-timers like me.
Buds keep growing and becoming more and more crystal filled and are getting denser.
No new issues, the Anti Bird Cages work fine. Keep on spreading her with LST.
The next year when I plant another Tha Shiznit (100% sure) I will give the buds more room;
Leave 1 bud, remove 1, leave 1 on and remove the other one, and so on, to give buds more space to grow and more light.
And I will remove the lower pair of branches early on, again, more light, more space to grow bigger buds.
I just love this strain, never seen anything like it. So rewarding and forgiving.
This one was topped three times and gets almost daily LST and still delivers and gives me a smile on my face every time I see her.
Can't wait to get her harvested, cured and smoke her 😴
