Green_Guanche Hey, this plant suffered an attack of mealybugs, fungus gnats, and whiteflies in its second week. I was away for 4 days, and when I got back, the plants I had on the rooftop were infested.
Out of all the plants, this one was the most affected; it had droopy leaves and a pale green color.
I didn't intend to keep a diary, but after cleaning it and treating it with diatomaceous earth, potassium soap, and Neem powder, it seems to be bouncing back and wants to fight for its life.
I've dealt with the aphids and whiteflies, but the fungus gnats keep coming out. I'm planning to water with the same solution in hopes of getting rid of the larvae.
Being an auto, I imagine that all this stress will prevent the plant from growing much; you can already see it reflected in the shape of some leaves, but I'm curious to see how it turns out.

Green_Guanche This is the fateful week, right in the city and I’m not getting any more pests because there aren’t any. I hardly have any photos because I was more stressed than the plants, cleaning and disinfecting. I moved them from the rooftop (ground zero) to my balcony. I’m going to finish dealing with the pests here first before cleaning the rest of the plants (aromatic herbs, tomato plants...) that I have on the rooftop.

Green_Guanche And this is the current week.
In the photos, you can see the evolution day by day.
Today I found a mealybug on the stem again, and I see more flies in the soil, things are getting tough.
Before nightfall, I will do a foliar spray with the previous solution and water with the same.
Fingers crossed.

Green_Guanche This week the plant is still gaining strength. There are no signs of mealybugs, but a couple more flies have appeared; I guess the mixture didn't get rid of the larvae, at least not all of them. On 07/22, I applied the potassium/Neem/diatomaceous earth mixture foliarly again and a bit in the substrate to avoid too much moisture, which would favor the ecosystem of these annoying flies. This time, when I applied it, no flies came out of the substrate, so I hope there are none left. I'll take the opportunity to apply it a couple more times before flowering starts. The plant has a good color and looks strong; I think the fly larvae haven't reached the roots, as long as they feed on the substrate, we're good.

Green_Guanche It seems to have recovered, the old leaves have the marks of past stress, but the new ones are growing with good color and strength. This week it has made a little stretch, it has been a hot week and it has benefited from it. There are no signs of pests, still, I will apply the solution once more before flowering starts as a preventive measure.
Update 1:
Midway through week 5 it went into flowering. I had time to apply the remedy once more and crossed my fingers for everything to go well during flowering.
Update 2:
With the flowering, I've felt like getting out the DSLR to capture a bit more detail. It’s starting off on the right foot for flowering.

Green_Guanche We're doing well with the flowering stage. It's growing compact in height but it's quite loaded. I water it very little since it's not a very thirsty plant.

Green_Guanche The flowering is progressing very strongly, it’s not stretching in height, but it’s still loading up quite a bit. It’s starting to give off some aroma. I’ll update in the coming days with more photos.

Green_Guanche The plant took one last stretch and started the fattening phase; for everything it has gone through, I'm surprised. I've grown the same strain, almost double the size with a 7L pot, this time I wanted to try a bigger pot and I don't see a clear result. Since this time it has caught all the bad stuff, and still blooms strongly, I would like to know what would have happened without all the pests. I'm cutting back on fertilizer, just watering with water.
Update:
Damn aphids again 😅
I've cleaned the leaves, and where I found aphids, I directly removed the leaves to prevent spreading through eggs. The plant keeps fattening like nothing's wrong.

Green_Guanche This last week has been a total mess, with work I haven't been able to give the attention the plants need.
To sum it up, while watering I notice leaves with holes, I start looking for the cause and find a kind of beetle I've never seen before and like 5 green worms 😂
And the plant is just fine, with leaves showing signs of having gone through a thousand battles in its short life and still fattening up like it's not a big deal.
The plant is already giving off a really nice smell, it's ready to cut, but I'm going to give it this extra week to mature, I still want more amber trichomes.

Green_Guanche The plant is ready for harvest, I gave it an extra week to mature, I haven't cut it yet due to lack of time. This weekend it will come down. This plant has been incredible, this last week, worms again, it must have a delicious taste for the insects, because they prefer it over anything else around xD
The next update will be in the next few days when I make the cut.
@Sweet_Seeds, thanks to you, you do a great job with all the strains. I already have one of these cured and it gives a nice trip, let's see how this one turns out after so much stress xD
Hi, thanks for your diaries. I would like to ask you if you change the soil after each grow? I wish you an excellent harvest and thank you for sharing your diaries.
Hey @@surcamares67, no problem, I discovered Growdiaries recently and I really like the vibe here.
About the soil, I have to say that unfortunately I don't recycle it and use new soil for each grow, let me explain...
When I've grown, it's been outdoors and I live in an area with a lot of fungus gnats and mealybugs.
No matter how careful I am, if I wanted to recycle the soil, larvae could sneak in and we'd still have the problem.
So, the experience in my area is to use preventative measures from the start if I plant outdoors.
I've only recently managed to control the pests and I want it to stay that way xD
Now that I'm doing my first indoor grows, I'll consider recycling the substrate if everything stays healthy like it is now (fingers crossed).
