5) 11.02 Fourth check. No mold. There are small spots of non-overgrown mycelium in 4 jars. The rest 11 jars are 100% overgrown. Ideal incubation. IV. Preparing cases [3 days] 1) 06.02 Soaked for two days a coconut for the cover layer of cases and expanded clay on the bottom of the fruiting chamber. 2) 08.02 Pasteurized coconut and expanded clay. 3) 11.02. Pasteurized coconut and expanded clay for the second time. 4) 12.02 Put substrate from 9 cans into 8 liter containers. The rest did not fit into the fruiting chamber and went outside as birds feed :) There are holes at the bottom of the containers; the bottom is pasted over with cling film that will be removed in few days. The cover layer of coconut is about 1 cm. I have expanded clay in the fruiting chamber, the walls of it are moisturized with a spray bottle 1-2 times a day (t = 24C - 25C).

Very impressive!! 4 massive waves ๐Ÿคฉ what are your favorite strains and why?

@jomolhari, yes, true that! Actually it might be the reason. Last times I got mold I haven't used antibiotics ๐Ÿค” great advice, thank you! I'll try again better prepared ๐Ÿ˜Ž

@Girl_Scout, sometimes it seems to me that it is impossible to incubate them if an antibiotic has not been used. Any crap in the substrate will definitely turn sour and moldy. For a human these dosages are simply nothing (besides, they will disintegrate in such a time). I suspect that mushrooms in a store (oyster mushroom, for example) are grown only with the use of antibiotics. If you did not use antibiotics while preparing a substrate, then I assure you - this is the reason for failures. All glory to gentamicin ๐Ÿ˜‚

@jomolhari, yes I did a few times, fucked it up half times as well to be honest ๐Ÿ˜„ couldn't achieve completely sterile conditions.. but the times I succeeded it was fully magical for sure! 3-4 waves of good harvest. I love the process, how fast they develop. I love plants as well I would just say it's different and a bit more usual for me

What is printing?
jomolhari
jomolhari
@@@@@@54degreesnorth, it is production of spore print. It's way of preserving biomaterial for further cycles. In my case it's sterile piece of foil with spores on it (from a cap of shroom). Some shroomers use plastic or thick paper. You can use spores print for making spore suspension. Spore suspension is not stored for a long, but prints can be kept in refrigerator for years (or probably centuries ๐Ÿ˜‚). It is instead of seeds in plants ๐Ÿ˜ƒ And unlike plants, the genotype remains stable. The next generation of mushrooms will be identical: F1, F2, F3, etc - all of them will be the same.
