For germination, i placed 2 seeds in RO water for 24 hours. After that, i remove the seeds and placed them inside wet paper towels for 48 hours. 1 seed sprouted and this was added into 5 gallon pot.
I started nutes this week. The only water i use is RO water. After adding nutes, i water with RO atleast 2-3 times before providing the plant with nutes again.
I work in a plant bio lab and have access to both salicylic acid and thiamine. I added 60mg SA and 48mg thiamine to 500 ml RO. This is roughly 1mM of each. I used it as a foilar spray and added about 200ml as a watering dosage.
Light defoliation was carried out. No more than 5-6 leaves. Other leaves were tucked to expose bud sites.
I also finally figured out what was causing some leaf damage. It was leafhoppers! I live on the 7th floor of an apartment but somehow they managed to get in even here. Good thing is I also saw some Ladybirds. I am also manually removing any leafhopper that i find. Damage isnt really that bad and mostly on lower leaves.
Also, she has now become a monster!
I added 1 mM of Salicylic acid and thiamine this week. This was applied as both a foliar spay and with my nutes.
Some of the lower fan leaves have started to yellow. But i think this is normal and have checked with other growers on reddit.
5 more weeks i guess?
This week has been pretty easy. All i did was water every other day with Flores nutes and RO water. I think she is going to bulk up tremendously in the upcoming week. I still think she has about 4 weeks to harvest. So im assuming a harvest time of around Sept. 16. Lets see when she is ready to be harvested.
The flowers have so much more frostiness though! really excited to see my first grow through :D
The temperatures were really high this week. Most of Europe was going through a heatwave. We have 30+ days everyday. However, next week we are supposed to be back to below 28C again.
She is doing pretty well. I see the buds increasing in frostiness. I still think she has a good 4 weeks plus to be harvested. The tips of some of the leaves seem to be yellowing a bit. I will keep an eye on her this upcoming week. If anyone has suggestions please let me know!
Some of her fan leaves started fading out this week. The buds are getting noticeably thicker and frostier. I think she has atleast 3 more weeks in her. Maybe 4... who even knows. I just wanna smoker her already
This week got really hot. Close to 40C... im just happy she didnt die. She is still doing well. Lots of brown pistils. I think she has 3 more weeks or so? Maybe 2 weeks if the stars align right.
She is definitely getting there. The number of brown pistils has increased a lot. Unfortunately, because of the heatwave a couple of weeks ago she has started showing seeds. I think ill take her down in the next couple of days. She does need atleast a couple more weeks though :(
She got a lot bustier this week. I did smoke a bit more of her and she is tasty!
Some of her stems look droopy, more signs of her approaching the end of her growth cycle.
She had to come down this week. But the lower buds were still tiny so I only harvested the top colas. I am updating this about a week and half after chop day. Below are the weights and results
She isnt very sticky to the touch, but i can see clouded trichomes and looks to be very frosty.
Wet weight: ~375 grams
Dry weight: 59 grams colas, 25 grams smaller nugs
I still have a few lower branches. I will chop that maybe in a week?
Initial smoke test (not completely cured)
The girl smokes so well guys! She tastes a bit like mangos and is very pleasant to smoke. Does leave you with a dry mouth. Not a lot of sedative qualities which i prefer, but that could also be because i didnt let the trichomes amber up. In a couple of weeks time ill do a smoke test on the cured large main colas.
She tasted great. My bugs from the first harvest have all cured and they taste amazing! Slightly mango, and fruity flavour. She smells great when broken down. The most pleasant way to get high and i did not have to deal with my weed guy!
This grow i yielded well over 90g dry. My total wattage used was 100w LED light, 50W LED floodlight, 12W led bulb, 20W LED flood light.
I would grow her again, but i might put her in a smaller pot to force her to finish earlier. I love everything about her except how long she takes, but then again that seems to be the only complaint coming from those who have grown her. She is truly a great girl to grow for your first time.
This was my first time growing. The community here and on reddit has given me great ideas and been a patient sounding board. Thank you all for your comments and advise on growing her.
I did a dry trim on here. I did leave a few more leaves than strictly necessary but i dont really mind. I might try to wash my buds after harvest the next time. I read some interesting protocols.
Until next time friends :) Stay high!
@HighFromHome, Thanks man! The temps were freaking me out a bit and i was checking for nanners and seeds. If the plant throws a nanner out can it not be smoked anymore?
