I wasnt going to keep these because I was mad, out of 11 regular seeds, only 2 were female, and I didn't like them. I have made that mistake before with lemon zkittle and wedding cake that in flower ended up being some of the best strains I ever had, and didn't clone them,... so I did In case. the #2's didn't root fast, so they did get tossed. These #8's rooted well, and the flowering mother isn't looking to bad. Def not a winner, but well see how it goes. There are 2 copies.. one in hydro to fill an empty bucket I needed to fill in that system comming up, and one in coco.
The backup coco future mother, and hydro copy... which will be in rdwc by next weekend, and adequate lighting. Like I do with many keeper phenos, I like to have one in coco in case of a hydro failure to make sure I have a survivor. I keep them in lower ligbt too so they don't take up to much space with quicker growth. You can see the difference already in size, and side branching between the 2. Also this is original Bruce banner #3 from dark horse, I labeled it wrong, it this is #8 out of those of mine.
These things are so slowww. These weren't the pick of the litter, but it was the only plant out of the ones I culled that didn't turn out male. That was the fist time I've ever gotten like 70% males in a regular pack. I have the parent in flower now, and its average at best. If it doesn't at least turn out to be super strong and tasty, these are getting trashed too.
The banner #3 is doing well. Not great, not bad. This is actually #8 for me. I'm seeing in flower that my #2 def would have been preferred, but it would not root in clone. #8 is OK. Its getting some purple in it too. I was planning on trashing them, but left them to see what happens. If it turns out OK, I'll keep it around, but if I don't like the effect and flavor, these won't make it to much further.
Here is a look at how the banner is doing. I also cut down the test plant to see how it did, and taste. Hopefully its good. It sure smells good. Have a little red in the pedials and leaf branches, so tossed a little more calmag into the brew.
Went from good healthy plants to troubled. Went out of town for 5 nearly 6 days and my ph went up to 7.1, and none of the plants in the system were happy. Lost and nearly lost some coco plants due to drying out also. Skipping the flip to flower this weekend till next weekend for everyone to recover. I'm sure they will as long as nothing else goes wrong.
Doing well after the vacation/ph incident. Was hoping the center would fill in a little better, but it is what it is. The skunk and Dubai are doing the same bc all the lower material died off, and what survived isn't catching up very fast. Doesn't look fantastic yet, but as long as I don't mess it up again, this whole area will be a jungle in another week or 2. As of now, they are on the 12-12 journey to happy time.
One of the tallest in the bunch, she's sort of a strechy one. Now 32" from the top of the bucket, and stretch not quite over, Im afraid her and a couple others might get to close to the lights, and here I thought they were going to grow half assed after the issue I had. There isn't anymore net holes left to bend em down either. Oh well. Theyre showing a little low on mag still. I keep dumping it in, and they suck it down. I've upped it 50ppm more of just calmag to 475. Some tips in there are barely turning yellow, so I won't do more than that. Im not one of the people who insist on soaking them in over 1000ppm and burning the shit out of them.
now at about 5 foot from the floor, the tallest branches are at eye level. Very open node spacing, and big leafs. She's getting a little closer to the light than I'd like, but those highest leafs are still praying and green, so I'll leave it for now.
Not my favorite pheno, but good smoke. It's very strechy compared to others. I have noticed this pheno for some reason does better in soil or smiles med. Even outside in the dirt tho, it's very strechy. I think I'm going to discontinue this one after this next clone is done.
Now a little further along, Im not to impressed with this pheno, but the smoke is good. I want to ditch it, but haven't found a replacement yet. Its just this pheno. I've had better growing ones I wish I'd kept around. Inside outside soiless hydro... its just not an all around winner.
Banner is on flush. Only 75ppm of mag sulfur in the wash. Not the best yielding, but the golf balls are heavy, plump, and sugared. This one gets a little purple too, but you won't be able to see it because the top heavy strechy sombitch can't hold itself up!
This banner has had it lol. Shes laying up against the wall in the corner. A lanky sativa dominant structure for sure, this is one potent girl. She will be ready to chop next weekend. I like to cut my sativa strains with milky trics, and save the a.bers for the more hybrid and indicas.
Very lanky strechy sativa plant. Had to chop the top half, and let the bottom go for a few more days. The popcorn could have used more time under light, but I can't wait any longer.
Darkhorse has a great reputation - was looking at a few of their seeds...mmm
