This is will be my first grow log 🙌 exciting times!
I started 4. feminized 00 Bubble Gum seeds the usual way:
First, soaked the seeds in a shot glass of water for 24 hours.
Second, transfer the seeds into wet paper towel squares in a small domed tray for 24 hours.
Next, moved into Rapid Rooters that I partially tore open, ensuring that the 1/2 inch tap roots were perfectly encapsulated in the coco material.
Lastly, I transferred the babies into 1/3 living soil from my last grow, and the remainder a mix of 1/4 Happy Frog, 1/4 Ocean Forest, and 1/2 Coco. First into small jiffy peat container, then into 1.32 gal containers.
So far, I am stoked with the quality of the 00 Seeds all 4 cracked open in less than 24 hours and are growing consistently.
Looking forward to week two 😝
At the beginning of week 2, the babies are measuring 2.25 inches and have two sets of leaves with a third coming in. This week I am adding the second 135W light on the veg setting, and I've added one ExHale CO2 bag.
7/25 I feed each plant 1 tsp Bud Juice Micro, and 1/4 tsp Miicrobial Mass in 500ml H2O.
7/28 I brewed some compost tea and gave each plan 1 liter of the brew.
7/30 the ladies are looking healthy and have 4 sets of leaves now standing just over 3.5 inches.
3 days into week three, the girls are growing quick! They have become wider the 1.3-gallon pots they are in.
8/2 I am a day or so late but topped the ladies today.
8/5 moved the ladies into 5 gal pots. Very little stress caused, they were praying next day 🙏🏼
8/7 - lowest nodes and leaves removed and the first day of 12/12. I tucked all the fans below the 6 tops.
8/10- I lightly top dressed the soil with a 50/50 blend Gaia Green, 3 tbsps 4-4-4 and 3 tbsps 2-8-4 per plant. Each plant received 1 liter water, Ph 6.3, 4ml Microbial Mass.
The girls began ScrOG training today!
8/15- the ScrOG has begun. So far so good. The girls are looking healthy 🤙🏼
8/17- while I gently tuck the tops below the screen I have been tucking fan leaves below to give the new flower sites more light and air.
8/19- Watered and did some LST today and clipped a handful of fan leaves from the bottom that are no longer getting light.
8/22- brewed and watered with some compost tea today. Also did a little bit more LST
8/26- today I removed all of the lower fan leaves and any that were blocking flower sites. I also watered, fed and lst. Stoked with the growth and flower development of these beauties 😍
8/28- today I top dressed the soil with a 70% bloom 30% grow mix of the Gaia green organic fertilizer. Each plant received 7 tablespoons of bloom and 3 tablespoons of grow. I watered with 6.3 pH water. The LST is still going strong the screen is almost full.
9/1- The buds are swelling and the Bubble Gum is living up to its reputation of staying short and squatty. A perfect choice for ScrOG! Today I watered adding 4 tsp of bud juice and 1 tsp do microbial mass.
The buds are beginning to swell, filling in the gaps between the nodes forming colas. 😍 The aroma is subtle but sweet.
9/3- The night humidity levels were getting too high for my liking, and I found some condensation on some lower leaves. I defoliated dozen of fan leaves that were lower in the canopy to create more opportunities for airflow. I also found a couple of leaves with a slight bend to them and one curling (see photo), so I didn't add any nutrients this week, as these may be signs of a light nutrient OD.
9/9- The girls needed watering, I brewed some compost tea and they seemed to love it. (Photo Day 56)
9/14- What I thought might have been a nutrient burn was actually a ph issue :( I was being lazy and making assumptions about my watering solutions ph. The Soil ph dipped below 6 and my girls started to develop some early signs of nutrient lockout. I remedied the soil by watering with about 1 tablespoon of baking soda in a gallon of water and distributing it evenly to the three plans. This solution was about 7.5 ph and after about 24 hours the soil ph was up to 6.5. The girls looked notably happier!
Things went pretty well this week after having some PH issues in the previous week. The girls are all maturing at different rates and there’s a visible difference in their nutrient uptake and usage that I can see by the color of the leaves. One of the girls pistols have turned about 25% orange brown, while the other two only 10% or so. I decided to defoliate the majority of the fan leaves to help them along maturing and to manage the night time humidity levels. The trichombs are fattening up and turning milky white, only a few amber. Check out the short recording from my microscope. ✌️
This week was the girls last, they were lightly watered with zero nutrients and I carefully monitored humidity levels, insuring a clean finish. Overall I am stoked with the results, the smell is exquisite, sweet and floral, and the buds are fairly dense.
I am fairly pleased with the outcome. The buds are really starting to smell sweet now that they are curing up. One of the plants had significantly more Amber trics then the others and it is the sweetest and best smoking in my opinion. On my next Bubble Gum grow Ill surly let finish for a bit longer.
