Day 6 and lots of yellowing and very very small sprout out of the soil, not even a half an inch in height. soil is dry on top and just under the surface is very wet. PH is 6.5, last night changed height of 300W light to 30 inches. 1000W is on and at 40 inches, but further away from plant. Humidity is around 55% and temp is 81-85 degrees. Why do i have yellowing color and the plant seems to be suffering??

Hi,
I have mine around 24 β above the plants.
When the light gets to close there is a possibility of leave burning.
Check out my sweet sweeds diary I started all the seeds with mars ts 1000w and crxsunny β1000wβ.

How far should my light be from the plants while they are still trying to breach the surface of the soil? Do i need to put the light very close to the soil so the seed can try to reach it? Thanks!!

Technically when they have yet to break soil light isn't required. I personally kept mine 30+ inches above for when they did break through. π

Hi there,
On Veg stage & first weeks ,80cm is good to go, let your lady stretch up and seek for light, then when your plants go into Flowering cycle 50cm is perfect.
Also you can check out your lightβs (brand)recommended height in the web to be double sure!

HELP!!! On day 5, see my 2 pics. Plant very small, lots of yellow, little green. seems distressed and lacking or getting too much of something. PH is 6.5-7. Soil on top is dry, but just below surface is reading wet (10 of 10). Switched lights to 18/6 last night - 30 inches away

Over watering or Nutrient burn or possibly both, try giving less water with no nutrients the most common mistake when growing is over watering. Peace & Happy Growing π

She could come back as you do still have green in the middle. No worries it's CK genetics didn't have much to work with. It will be severely stunned in growth next few weeks if she does recover. Just leave her be if trying to salvage her. watch for growth but sometimes best to start over.

Hi,
Sorry to tell you. Your plants is a bit fry or burned seedlings. Try start a new seeds
When germinating a new seed, use promix-ph and wet it with drinking water (filtered tap water.) just enough so it holds some water. don't use nutrients until the seedlings are well established (they show a consistent grow).
have the lights at least 24β away from plants and a 18 hour cycle will be fine.

What kind of soil are you using? Did you add any fertilizer? I noticed you said the soil was dry on top and very wet underneath. In the picture its way over watered, your soil is also way to hot π₯! Back your lights way up and flush, actually better off just starting a new seed its already going to be severely stunted.
