Auto New York City by Pyramid Seeds. 7 seeds for under €20,- Average 9 to 10 weeks, suspect mine to need a little longer for the abuse. Wanna try both Topping and Fimming on one of the plants. I'll try to grow 2 sisters and keep 1 on my rooftop terrace, and the other one will go on a little camping trip. After a topping of course, and as early as possible. Makes it also easier to transport her. 6-6 The seeds are soaking on TP. 1 day in, 1 root visible, other one is cracking its shell. 8-6 both roots visible, transferred to moist soil that I prepared earlier. Covered pot with plastic foil. 10-6 both heads are sticking out of the dirt, so I removed the plastic foil on top of the pots and put them outside, weather is nice.

No new pictures this week, sorry. The sisters are still growing in 2 seperate pots, about 1 L. I'm gonna decide the plant staying home, and the one leaving for the camping trip. The best looking will stay at home, and will be suffering my LST and HST attempts. 😨 Still no difference between them.

22-6 number 1 is gonna go camping, number 2 will stay at home, she was transferred to a 10 L pot now. They both got a topping OR Fimming about 1 cm above node 3. A few days later when growth kicked back in, I removed node 1 and a few (6-8) leaves blocking light for lower leaves and branches. That week they grew fast, so I topped/fimmed the plant staying home for the second time. Result next week.

27-6 keeping up the LST and spread the green evenly through the pot. On top 2 main branches I have 4 normal 'topped' branches and 1 Fimmed branche. The same below, 5 in total, 1 of them Fimmed. And on the top there is a Fimmed split, with 2 normal 'topped' looking branches, and 1 middle Fimmed. Never Fimmed anything before, at least, on purpose that is. My questions are: Should I remove that center one in the top of the plant for weight issues? Do the Fimmed branches in general need support later in the grow?

She was topped again earlier this week, to leave the center of the plant open for light and air. We had around 30 degrees C here a few days, and now they're predicting a week of temps over 35 degrees C. 😅 Gotta make sure she's hydrated, but not over-do it. Switched to 50/50 growth/flower. Next week full flower, Biocanna Bio Flores, and a little Bio Rhizo. Take my word for it: Canna's Bio Rhizo smells like fish ( didn't taste that one 😝 ) and the Vega and Flores both look, smell AND TASTE like soy sauce. Her sister, that is on that camping trip, looks really sad, she barely grew 2,5 cm or an inch while outside in the wild. I gave her some water, but I'm not sure if I'm gonna take the risk to harvest her for only 2 or 3 small buds of medium quality. It's still illegal in NL 😔 So I don't wanna get caught with only a few grams of the stuff in the middle of the night.

I made Lemonade this week.. 😓 Nature gave me some lemons, some extra challenges in this week of already torturing temps... pfff. Some agressive crow or jackdaw or similair destroyed my NYC Auto. It landed in a very rude way ON the plant, and she lost 2 branches. 1 in the top, and 1 in the lower layer. This will reduce my potential max with about -20% 😭 Tried to save the branches with first some water and after that some soil with a little bit of Biocanna Rhizo in it. Both branches died and shrumbled in the crazy temps within 2 days, even indoors. I really only re-did the full LST and spread her towards the hole in the canopy that the bird left me with. I clicked the "HST" button for this week, because of what The Byrds did to her 😉 F.U. Birds. I've been an official member of the Dutch Society for Bird Protection for over 6 years now. Starting to think about cancelling my membership recently... I already had a protective cage made up for my Tha Shiznit grow, check my other Diary. I made one to it's specific pot size for my NYC auto too now, pic uploaded now.

Weather is back to normal now, mid to high 20's, sometimes a 30 plus C. The rioting birds are scared away with some water, full buckets make them change their mind really quick. Keeping it as bird friendly as possible... Didn't know soaked birds could still fly that well and FAST! 😇 I keep updating my LST, to let her fill the bucket and the Anti Bird Cage I made for her and her sister. Buds are forming quite nicely now, the smell is also picking up, nice and sweet and a bit bubble-gum like. 😍 I must agree with ChitownCannaChica's remark in their NYC diary, the plant keeps looking 'stringy', so a lot of branches with not a lot of leaves, and all my leaves stay quite small. The hole in the canopy left by the bird earlier is almost fully covered now by updating the LST. It wa.s located in the top left corner of the bucket, let's say between 9.00 and 11.30 hours.

Weather is back to normal now, a bit low for end of august, low to mid 20's. Gotta make sure she keeps within the bucket, because of the cage I made for her. I only have about 10-15 cm's of height left before she hits the roof of her cage. I will find a way to lift the cage a bit higher, to give her more space to grow and stretch. She really doesn't like the cage, but hey, it keeps the birds out, and my weed safe. Especially when I remove the cage, or put it back, and you can see the buds rubbing up against the cage. 😢 But for now, this is the best I can do. I planted another sister of hers last week, her head is now just a little above the edge of the pot. She will be a test subject, so probably no diary about her, but you can never know. She's gonna be my NYC Bonsai, quite small, and she's gonna finish off on my window stand when it gets too cold outside for her. Now she's in a 5 liter, but I will give her a bigger container just before or after first HST and LST on her.
