Start of week 7, nothing new to report. Now its in full flower mode think I'll stop alternating nutes and ph'd water and just stick with nutes every water. Still using 2ml/l of grow nutes, will start reducing that this week. Went up to 3ml/l of flower nutes. Still watering every 2nd day with a litre of fluid.
Few more of the lower leaves are starting to yellow and shrivel up, think it's a combination of getting no light and flowering. If anyone has any advice fire away, I've added some pics. There are 5 in total, all at the bottom but those are the worst 3.
Day 45 - thanks for the answers to the question folks. Think it's a mixture of everything that folk were saying. Will keep the grow nutes the same quantity and start using nutes every water. Will know by end of week how it does. The uppermost leaves at the flowers are starting to get frosty from trichomes. Looking forward to how it progresses this week.
Day 47 - not checked since day 45 and noticed an apparent difference in the flowers. They're certainly gaining some weight. All 3 waters this week have been with nutes, will keep the grow nutes the same level as the plant obviously needs it and will start reducing them closer to harvest before flushing. Don't think it's going to be too long as some of the pistils are changing colour already, this might be a usual occurrence, not too sure
Day 49 - end of week 7. I think from doing a bit of digging that I've a slight phosphorous deficiency. The dark splotches on the leaves seem to be a bit of a giveaway for that. Watered for the last time this week so upped my flower nutes to 4ml/l and will keep the grow at 2ml/l, maybe reduce to 1ml/l over the next week. Apart from that the plants doing well, really pleased with it so far. Will keep a close eye next week to make sure the deficiency doesn't turn into a problem. Hoping that adding nutes every water will help me out
Few of the older leaves have started going yellow with brown spots and shriveling up. I'm in week 7, week 3 of flower. I've been alternating nutes with Plain ph'd water, so only been adding nutes every 2nd water. Have now changed to every water. Is this just due to flowering? Ta
Looks partly like a nitrogen deficiency to me. It also being the oldest growth/not receiving much light also plays a factor. Its to be expected, as long as new growth is green and healthy, nothing to worry about. Hope that helps.
@bobo420, cheers mate. Hoping they really fatten up the next week. Doesn't seem to have been much change the last few days. Prob just cause I'm seeing it every day
Day 24 - It's growing really bushy, is there anything I should do to help it along? There seems to be 5 main growths in the light, 6 if you include one hidden under a main one
Looks good ! I'm interested in how the plant will react after the topping. In your case it's a good idea since you're limited in height, but i've always been afraid that the plant would need to much time to recover and therefore losing a lot of height.
@Bstoner, yeah i think i will depending on how big it starts growing. The lower down growth nodes from nodes 2 and 3 are starting to stretch quite a bit so need to try and get them some extra light.
I'm actually surprised how well it's doing, it's in a fridge in my garage, check it once a day and water it when soils dry and it seems to be thriving. Quite shocked how well it's going for hardly any input from me
@Bstoner, not too bothered about the loss in height as long as I get 2 main colas. I've probably only got around another 40cm of growth before I hit my height limit. Had a peek this morning before lights went out and the 2 new colas have shown some growth in the space of 24 hours. Will post some more photos tonight
@grow_ur_own, cheers mate. I was limited in head space so topped the plant and ended up with 5 main colas. It's hard to see from the pics but each of the colas has flowers all the way down to the main stem of the plant, im really impressed!
@burnerac, it's a greenhouse heater, cause the fridge is out in the garage the temperature quickly drops inside when the lights go out. Got a temp controller so it comes on at 20 degrees and keeps the fridge about 20/21. Temps would drop to about 7/8 degrees otherwise.
Looking excellent! Were you planning on finishing them under mixed color or red CFLs, or do you have another fixture in mind for flowering?
Liked and followed -- first grows are exciting and scary!
@Jaindoh, going to finish under warm coloured cfl's. They're under 8000k just now and will revert to 2700k later in flowering.
All in the equipment only cost me around £30 (including seeds). I had the majority of it lying around
@Jaindoh, cheers very much buddy. I'm really impressed with how it's went as well. Only downside from the fridge is lack of headspace, but topping it and some lst provided me with 5 main colas!
Only problem I ran into was a bit of deficiency/nute lockout. It's only been getting slightly worse, and as I'm so close to harvest I'm not too bothered. Chopped one of the smaller buds off today and came out at 5.1g wet. Reckon each of the main colas is maybe pushing 20/25g wet so hoping for a touch over an ounce when dry. Been a good learning experience

Nice grow i like the fridge idea. I myself started with CFL a couple years ago now experimenting with cheap common screw in Led bulbs. Plan on following as i like your style 👍.
