Two plants in 1 pot. The internet says this is a terrible idea and they will fight for nutrients and struggle but I think I can give them all the nutrients, water, and lights that they need. Since I can't transplant the autos their roots should fill the pot out faster w/ two plants therefore I can cycle much earlier and better. This could be a total disaster but that's the fun in growing!
Plants are growing really fast. They have almost caught up to another plant in the tent that's a week ahead of them. I'm top dressing osmocote slow release fertilizer so I can have more nutrients available without watering as often. It's a tricky balance watering 2 small plants in a larger pot.
Moved these under the LED now that they have gotten bigger. I LST the taller of the two so it would not shade out the second plant down the line. Also trimmed a few leaves here and there to promote more light to the Aux shoots. Both look very happy but even though they are both the same seed 1 grows very dense while the other stretches much more.
Looking very happy! One of the two is growing very tall and wispy while the other is maintaining a stockier structure. I'm rotating the pot so the tall/ wispy side can get more fan pressure. I think this will harden the plan up and also allow the other one to grow at a similar pace. I did some light trim to ensure the led could shine into the canopy. I really like growing two plants in 1 container so far- They are both showing signs of flower and drinking the water fast. At this point I'm not seeing a disadvantage to two plants in 1 pot and feel that it's a lot less work then two separate containers. Happy to hear what people think positive or negative about the overall grow
Very happy with this weeks growth. I will do a heavier defoliation in the coming days to ensure light can get to the lower buds. These two plants drink the water/fert so fast. Its becoming hard to over water
@Ferenc,
I think there was not enough N. I've been really careful not to burn the auto's and used organic nutrients but ever since adding osmocte slow release they have looked much happier. I'll be uploading more soon!
