Just got things rolling last night. This will be my first indoor grow with coco under LED. I'll be using GHE flora series. Any help or tips would be appreciated.
Update Day 6: 3 out of 5 have popped-ish, not to sure what happened to the other 2.
Day 9: I germinated another two seeds to replace the 2 that were duds. Hopefully they can catch up down the road.
Day 16: 4 of the 5 are up. Not sure what happened to the 5th one. it sprouted, but stopped where it is in the picture. They got their first feeding today.
Another week in the books. Just buying time until we can start training. Going to stay on this nutrient mix for the rest of veg. Aiming for a watering every 2-3 days. Alternating waterings between nutes and distilled water. Watering to runoff, runoff is at 6.2 pH.
Another week of smooth sailing in veg. Probably starting the last week of veg. Still only hairs on two of them. I'm 90% positive the other 2 are males. I'll give them another week and see where they are. I threw up some pictures for sexing. I know they aren't the greatest pictures, but any insight would be appreciated.
Hey, I was wondering about conformation and how I should approach these potential males. Should I pull them now? It has been about 10 days, since hairs appeared on the other 2. Probably going in to flower by the end of the week. Should I leave the males until then?
Males normally have thicker stems, so if you can rule that out you've cracked it. White hairs for female and green clusters for males. Plus they normally grow taller quicker, so keep an eye out for those things and you'll be good.
Another week of veg down. Still no signs of hairs from the other 2, and they are taking off from the 2 with hairs. Definitely nearing the end of veg, as I will probably flip them on their next nute watering, should be by the weekend.
Definitely made some progress this week. Flipped the lights to 12/12. Lollipopped and cleaned up the girls. Got rid of male # 1, and male #2 is starting to show his true colors. Pretty happy with them overall, and now we are officially in flower.
The two girls are just chugging away at bud production. I'm training the top down to level out the canopy. So far it seems to be making good progress. Going to try to spread them out some more as they grow.
Another week of flower down. Training has been going well they are both close to a flat canopy. Girl #2 is starting to pull ahead a little but nothing major. That beautiful crystal fuzz has started showing up this week. Hoping to see a lot more in the future. They are getting pretty close to needing a trim, but I'm going to try to hold off until the end of week 11. Give them one good trim and leave them be.
Another week down, 5ish to go. I gave the girls another hair cut today. One just got cleaned up under the shadow line, where as, I took a good bit off the other one. We will see what method the Blue Deity prefers. I am starting to notice a slight humidity problem, as the last week or so they have been creeping up into the high 60s. Might have to do something about that.
If I wanted to try monster cropping this batch, when is the best time to take the clones? And should I target the small popcorn colas at the bottom for cloning or would I have better luck with one of the top colas?
Hi @Kaboose13! Clones should be taken during the vegetative stage, otherwise you'll have to take them back to veg, this may give great results if done correctly, but it takes weeks to properly re-veg clones. However I won't try to do it on your babies, it's too late and the chances for a re-veg success are low. You'll destroy potential buds and loose everything! The clock is ticking down. We are definitely in the homestretch now. I'd say one of the girls is probably a week ahead at this point. Not sure if I should push it a week ahead or give her sister another week on week 8 of my nute schedule.
Another week in the books. The girls seem to be coming along nicely. #1 looks like she is going to be ready for harvest first. While #2 seems like she has finally stopped stretching. We will have to start keeping a closer eye on them as time winds down.
We had a freakish heatwave this week. I was worried how the setup was going I hold up, but it came out of it fine. Girls didn't even bat an eye. Girl #1 is starting to look like it's finishing up. Girl #2 just keeps looking better.
We are in the home stretch now folks. The girls are frosting right up. I'm thinking they will be ready for flush in the next week or two. I am noticing I probably should have taken a little more fan leaves off #2, but she seems like she will pull through. I'm going to try and get some closeup pictures, but no promises on quality.
Well folks I was planning on this being flush week but I'm not sure if I timed it right. As far as I can tell both plants look like the tricromes are cloudy, but I'm not 100% sure. I've noticed the fan leaves on girl #2 have started to yellow. I'm hoping it is just a sign of harvest, but again I'm not 100% sure. Any help would be appreciated.
Hey guys, I'm just wondering if the discoloration I got going on is just the end of the harvest or is it something I need to take care of? Also would you say I'm fine to start flushing this weekend? Or would you wait?
Hi @Kaboose13! Well theoretically if you did not start the flush, she shouldn't be fading/yellowing. But in my opinion she's not fading/yellowing, she's just recovering her normal color. Indeed, your leaves look very dark to me, and this is usually not a good sign. I see you also have purple stems, this could be a sign of a phosphorous deficiency, or maybe this is strain-related... Anyway at this stage you're doing fine, just take it easy on the nutrients, flush for at least a week, and admire her fading out and ending her life beautifully! Enjoy her last days and happy growing 👊
Very few pictures this week as my camera is broken. Regardless the girls are showing their true colors nicely. Started flush last Saturday. #2 is turning a nice golden yellow, where as #1 is really showing the blue. The buds are fatties up and I'm pleased with how my first grow went. Hopefully finish out flush and chop them during the week.
Well its done. The girls came down on Saturday, and got hung up to dry. Just pulled them off the hangers not 10 minutes ago. I'd love a bigger yield and know it's possible. But I met my late flower goal of atleast getting an Oz out of the girls. It was an up and down experience. I learned a lot from this grow. Can happily say that I'm now hooked. I can't wait to start this wonderful experience all over again. I want to give a big shout out to the community for all the help and hand holding along the way. You guys rock. I will have to update0
