Highrish Here we go. I've decided to grow a few plants to help with my medication. Having suffered for many long years from a bad back and horrible side effects from the meds i've been on, I decided enough is enough. Try something new. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm a complete novice so I do expect to make mistakes (hopefully not many).

Highrish Made it to week 2. So far so good. Plant 1 seens to have stretched a small bit but i'm not too worried about it. brought the lamp down to 70 cms. Seems to have worked. Plant 2 is doing alright. Plant 3 What can be said, doesnt look happy but maybe in a few days or weeks I could be very surprised. Plant 4 is looking a bit small but this may be to do with her genetics (northern lights auto) If anyone has advice please feel free to help.

Highrish Week4 Doing nicely. No visible trouble yet, and hopefully none in the future. Plant 1 is doing fairly well but in comparison to other plants on the Growdiaires site, I think mine are on the small side. Plant 2 is also doing fine. Plant 3. What can i say. I'll just let nature decide for this plant, but hopefully maybe one day she will come good. Plant 4 is also healthy. I also accidentaly pierced a leaf with a piece of wire. Hopefully no long-term drama there I started LST midway through last week, hopefully not too early. Fingers and toes still crossed. Any help from anyone would be very much appreciated.

Highrish Start of week 5 Plant1 Part of it broke because of an electric wire falling on the plant exactly where the bend was for the LST. I dont know if the plant will do much now being so much damaged, or maybe it might just recover. Plant 2 is doing good Plant 3 is doing way better than expected, starting to grow strong. Plant 4 is also doing well. All plants look healthy and looking forward to the rest of the adventure ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Half way through week5 and the flowering has started. All the plants are doing fine especially plant3, not very big but growing very fast at the minute. The broken plant is doing fairly well considering she lost her head a week ago. Plant 2 is getting bushy Plant4 same as plant2. there is a lovely sweet smell every time i pass by the grow-tent and really looking forward to the harvest. So fingers still crossed and hoping for the best.

Highrish Week5 Flowering has started in all plants. Plant 1 Is 30 cm high and even though it broke 2 weeks ago seems to be doing very well. Plant 2 is 44 cm high. I'm just wondering is she stretching. I dont think so. Plant 3 is 25 cm high. Also doing very well. Very unexpected cause of her very late start but she is going very strong. Plant 4 is 32 cm high and also doing very well. For now the is no sign of root burn, root bound, overfeeding or bad watering.. I probably will start feeding for the flowering this week.

Highrish Week 7 Plant 1 is doing very well. 44 cms high but with a run-off pH of 7.5. Ive been flushing every day with corrected water and stopped all nutes. Plant 2 is growing very well. 68 cms high and a run-off pH of 6.9. Flushing the plant and stopped nutes. I've discovered some leaf tips burnt, I can only suspect nute burn. Plant 3 is the surprise of the week. Doing exceptionally well. 60 cms high and no signs of nute burn. Run off pH is 7.0. Plant 4 is doing ok too. 50 cms high with very small signs of nute burn. Flushing at the minute. Run-off pH is 6.9 All in all fairly happy up to now.. Hopefully in 3 or 4 day i'll re-start feeding. If anyone has other ideas than nute burn, please tell me. Its just that some of the new leaves are slightly burnt at some of their tips for plants 2 and 4. Plant 4 new leaves are curling slightly along the axis of the leaf.

Highrish Week 8. Plant 1 45 cms. Doing way better than expected considering her decapitation a few weeks ago. She is growing several large buds. Plant 2 70 cms. Doing good but with a several of her leaf tips burnt. I flushed her out a few days ago but I dont think that stopped the nute burn. Maybe its something else???????? Plant 3 88 cms. The runt of the litter. She got big very quick. Plant 4 63 cms. She is doing well. Northern lights auto. Growing a bit slower than her neighbours but not too worried about that. Some of the pistils are starting to turn yellow and brown, a very good sign, I hope.; Generally happy overall

Highrishstarted grow question 7y ago
Hi Ive noticed yellowing of older leaves. Is this normal? near harvesting or is this something to worry about? Plants are 9weeks old. Fast Eddy autos. PH run-off for the 3 plants is between 7.0 and 7.2. See photos Thanks

Actually, at this point stop all feeding and give the plants pure water. That will force it to take the nutes it need to finish from what remains on the soil and it's leaves. You will see a lot more yellowing. This will improve the taste of your weed and make it less harsh.

Highrish Week 9 Doing ok. Signs of yellowing on the 3 Fast Eddy plants. My gut tells me that harvesting is not too far away, maybe in 2 weeks. About 30% of the pistils are turning amber and as far as i can see the trichs are starting to change colour too. I'm using a very cheap kids microscope to see the trichs. As you can see from the nutrients i'm not using too much, I know that I can probably double the intake. Too late now anyways. Its all part of the learning curve. Plant 1 is doing really good. 45 cms and her buds are just getting thicker by the day. Very happy with her, even after losing her head. Plant 2 is doing fine too. 72 cms and her buds are getting tight too. Next time I grow ill concentrate on the LST a bit better than I did on this plant. Plant 3 is doing as expected. 91 cms. The runt of the litter surprised me by growing this high. I will admit that she is very scrawny looking, but thats her character. I dont expect too much from her. Plant 4 is doing very good too. 65 cms.Northern lights Auto takes a few weeks longer to grow, but for me she is fairly healthy. Her buds are tightning up too. Next grow ill only put 3 plants into the tent or maybe just 2. They need their space to be happy.

Highrish Week 10. The last week, or even the last few days before the harvest. Plant 1 is ready to harvest. I think so anyways. In 2 or 3 days. 60% of the pistils are turning brown. Plant 2 is also ready to harvest. About 60% of the pistils are brown. Plant 3 I might leave for 1 more week as she has about 20%brown pistils yet. She made it this far.. Plant 4 isnt ready yet. Still feeding her a small bit. Not too much. Still has all white hairs. (Northern lights auto). Flushing her out this week. Ive been flushing out the 3 ready plants for almost 1 week now. The run-off pH is about 6.7-6.9 for the three.

Happy Harvest Day!

After giving up weed almost 20 years ago because of paranoid bad trips, I was very worried about starting to smoke again. After drying it I decided to try it out. A very nice mellow functional high. I only smoked a small amount as im buuilding up the confidence in THC again. But more importantly, smoking this very small bit, most of my back pain went........... A great moment........ Finally some peace in my life from pain. Feeling much more relaxed too.

Highrish As a first time grower I found that Fast Eddy lives up to its name. No particular difficulty in growing it, maybe next time only 3 plants instead of 4. Overall I think i will be growing this strain again and very soon.

Hi I was looking at your grow from the beginning and I only have 1 possible recommendation, autos need good hours of light to bulk up..especially during the veg cycle. I wouldn't say 24 hours of light, but definitely 18-20. Since its an auto it doesn't necessarily need that reduction of light down towards the 12-16 range. Maybe give that a try next time? Once their not tiny seedlings, boost those babies up. Happy growing and congratulations on making to flowering and harvest time.

@BucketBrigade, Yeah, me too. I dont think the final weight will be out of this world but i've learned good lessons on this grow and going to put them into use on the next grow in a few weeks time.

@Highrish, In the end, I think that's all that matters.

@BucketBrigade, As long as there is some pain relief. Thats all that I want, and thats all that matters. Hopefully in about 10 days i'll be harvesting.

Hey also read you're new like so many of us, its great you're switching to a green alternative medicine. I love that! For plants to thrive we need to be able to give them bright light, fresh air and a nice breeze blowing around them, water ( soil ph 6-7, hydro 5.5-6.5), a healthy growing medium soil or others, nutrients( sometimes less is definitely more, which you seem to be doing :)), a good temperature, and of coarse love and attention. There's so many good and educated people on here who are always so helpful, seek them out and I'm sure they can offer more advice than just good luck. I hope your new medicine is good to you.

Highrish commented7y ago
@Experimentgreen, Thanks for all the advice. Aletrnative medicines is the only way foreward for me. Having tried for many years different methods , natural and not so natural, i decided to try the green stuff. I used to smoke a lot in my younger days. I'm kinda nervous about re-starting the weed but at the minute even if I get pain relief for 3 or 4 hours, that would really help a lot. The next grow will be done differently. My grow area is a bit crowded at the minute, so maybe 2 or 3 plants next time. As for the lighting, 18 hrs minimum to start with.. The estimated growth peroid for these autos is 8 to 9 weeks from seed to harvest. Thats why i'm thinking very near to harvest time. As what Stick said with the feeding and watering, i'm doing that already. One day with nutes, one dry day, one day with pH'd water and one dry day. The dry days depend on the dryness of the medium. If too dry I give them the water they need. No point in making them too thirsty. Maybe in one week i'll start flushing them and start getting ready to harvest them.

Experimentgreen commented7y ago
@Highrish, I hear you on the re starting weed. I smoked when younger too but when I failed my 1st college math class I realized that math and weed didnt go well together. Now ive had to try a variety of strains and only 1 didn't give me that anxious uncomfortable feeling, strawberry cough. Those autos sure are amazing and resilient to abuse of many things...but nutrients seem to be one of their downfalls..because if you mess up the plant its a ticking time bomb and maybe won't have the time to fix the problem. I hope it all turns out good for you. I saw a person on here that does a continuous auto grow, every 3 weeks he harvests and germinated new seeds. The banks have really done well with the available strains in autos now too.
