Really excited for this one. Took 3-4 days to sprout in my own mix of soil (organic peat free compost, vermiculite and grit - not sure my proportions were quite right but hopefully one day I can test a few out). Done on a heated propagator then straight under the light for 16hrs. All seems to be going well!! Can't wait for these to grow bigger... Update on day 7: Been slowly reducing the lamp-plant distance as I thought they were growing a bit leggy. It was at 88 at the start of the week and is now at 68 on day 7. Not sure if this is still too high...

Hello. Please hold your hand over your little seedling for a minute. You want a warm feeling without a burning feeling. If the back of your hand feels like it is getting sun burnt it will do the same to the plant. That is the right distance. Good Luck. Chuck.

Day 16: Into the 3rd week and they've really grown in terms of spread - they're nearly as wide as they are tall which I guess is a good thing? Definitely got over the transplant shock, which probably lasted 2-3 days. I've started feeding them all with half the minimum recommended dosage to start with. I was torn between using either grow or fish-mix but after reading a tonne of forums decided to opt with the stronger fish mix. The humidity is a bit lower than I'd want but I'm going to start spraying the walls to help. All in all going well I think

Increased the amount of fish mix to 1ml/l and they've come along loads since last week. Decided to "ponytail" #1 and #2 since they're miles ahead of #3. Leaving on for 6 hours, then off. Going to do it for 2 days first then see how things go. It'd like to start normal LST afterwards so I'm hoping #3 Also moved the fan so that it's blowing a nice breeze across the top as #3 wasn't feeling any benefit in its previous location. Also lowered the light to 50cm from the top of #3. Day 28 - I fed with 2ml/l of fish mix. Also had a disaster when trying to LST. Snapped the main stem near the top - didnt tape in time so now I'm hoping it recovers. Im so gutted - it was the healthiest one :(:(

Is there anything I can do to help with the recovery and yield of my auto after snapping the main stem during LST? I didn't tape it in time so that's not an option

It's hard to tell from your pictures, but did the stem actually break? If its just bent a little bit, I think it should bounce back. If it's actually broken, you could try treating it like a cutting. Lot's of different points of view on that, but MIGHT work. I had a few plants "top" themselves after week 2-3, the top leaf set just died. Two new ones came back and now they're my biggest ones. Don't give up!

First "successful" round of LST done on day 31 - a bit later than I'd hoped but happy with the result so far. I'm going to come back in a few days and tweak/add more LST. The plant that I accidentally broke a few days ago seems to be growing again now so it doesn't look like it's over for this little one yet. But... for the last day I've noticed some yellowing occurring at the edges of my leaves on the plant that was damaged. Annoyingly I also moved the light down and increased the feed to 2ml/l all around the same time so I'm not sure which is causing the issue. Once I noticed it I stopped feeding it nutrients all together so its just been water. Since the yellowing I decided to check the pH - sitting at 7.5-8 so I used some ph- to bring it to more like 6-6.5 (I think this is right). Middle of week 5: the 2 smaller ones have started flowering, around 3-4 days apart from one another. Into the 2 week stretch.

What is causing yellowing of the top fan leaves? Started to happen to a plant that I broke by accident during LST. However around the same time I upped to 2ml/l and moved the light a little closer. My ph has also been high (fine now). No idea which one could be the culprit

Hey Growmie, If you moved the light closer this is the culprit. Back it off a bit and this will help. also, keep a look out for burned tips this will be the indication that the plant was feed too much. Hopefully, I answered your question and remember Happy Growing and Free your mind one puff at a time.

I think I stunted 2 of my plants some point along the road. No actual idea how though but they're just tiny. I think I could have trained them much earlier but after my accidental breakage everything was a bit delayed. The one that I broke actually turned out to be the best because I effectively topped it and now there are 4 really big branches and a few more coming. I'm hoping at least No 3 will catch up - I'm still training both of them through the stretch to try and get that last bit of growth. No 1 and 3 started flowering in the 5th week - no 1 at the start and no 3 in the middle. No 2, the biggest topped one just started flowering on day 36, first day of week 6. Feeding 3ml/l of fish mix now since their all in the stretch. Had issues with light burn this week so I had to train the big one and move the light up quite a bit. Happy days we're half way through

hi, just a bit of nitrogen in excess, but nothing to worry about. plant its storing it on the bottom leaves "just in case". the claw its slight so i would leave all like this, but if you want to fix it just give them less nutrients. cheers

Day 45 - in the middle of week 7 and they've all grown massively. #1 has grown the most but I think its stretch is over now as all bud sites seemed to have formed. I started feeding #1 and #3 1ml of fish mix, bio-bloom and top max on day 43. I've noticed quite a lot of growth on #2 in the last day or two so I think its definitely doing better although the leaves are still a bit dark from the nitrogen overdose - going to continue watering with plain water for a day or two then go back to fish mix before switching to bloom nutes. Not doing anymore training as I think I'm too far in but right now I'm really pleased with the progress so far 😀

Having real issues this week with multiple problems. #1 is growing like crazy so the top fan has been burnt - the light is at max height so I've had to move it to the edge. #2, the plant I topped accidentally was getting better but has now got a lot worse - a lot of dark and curled leaves as well as brown spots that have appeared in the last 24 hours. I think I may have been over watering so now I'm worried I've caused a nutrient lockout or something. Stopped feeding nutrients 3 days ago as they all started curling and have paused watering whilst everything dries out. Not good!! Gotta fix it quick Update on Day 56: Seem to have solved the issue of curled and darkened leaves - I think it was overwatering as once they all dried up it started to get better. However, I also stopped giving nutrients so there is a small chance it could have been a nitrogen deficiency. Now I'm trying to deal with what I believe is a nitrogen deficiency, or possible magnesium. It's moving pretty quickly up the plant 😢

Why are the fan leaves dark, curled downwards and showing brown marks originating from the edges? Had an issue of dark and curled leaves for a week or 2, did think it was getting better (N2 deficiency) but now suddenly after not watering for a day the leaves are going brown.

Hey mate shame to see its happening during flowering. Hopefully she gets through it alright! - what were your temps the past days? Low temps could trigger a molybdenum deficiency (solved by keeping temps >21c, around 24-27c during lights on) - you mention you watered the day before, root problems and overwatering can show near to random symptoms making them hard to pin point. Do you check the soil is dry before watering (e.g. by lifting the pot and guestimate with the weight)? - Does you soil drain well enough/ is it airy enough? If you soil is all compact and has a hard time letting oxygen through then the roots have a hard time and watering becomes less tolerant to mistakes and you can easily get salt buildups causing lockouts. --> If you soil is compact and you think this is the problem check if there are guides to make it more airy (no idea if poking it with chopsticks would help... I grow hydro since many years now). Otherwise its most likely a lockout so if you can't figure out what is wrong usually the approach is to flush them to kindof 'reset' the soil, and when they need water again then give with nutrients. Don't take my advice as the truth, as I mentioned I don't grow in soil since a while. Good luck to you and I hope they pull through!

First day of week 9 and things aren't going exactly according to plan. I'm still having trouble with the light distance for the one that's stretching like mad. I've just tied it down to try and bring it more in-line with the others but given I'm 4 weeks into flower I'm going to have to do it over a few days to be sure I don't snap anything. The second one which last week was suffering from dark and curled leaves is now suffering from what I think is a nitrogen deficiency (probably due to my flushing). It's moving pretty fast up the plant, and I also noticed what I think is a magnesium deficiency, so I bought some calmag and fed it with a small dosage of 1ml/l. As for the week before I thought that the dark leaves could also be from temperature drops as it hit 16.5 at one point last week, so I installed a small heater to help bring the T up, while also trying to contend with a high humidity, which I've successfully managed to get down to 60% this evening. To add to all of that I've now noticed burned tips on an otherwise healthy plant. I think its some kind of deficiency but I'm not 100% what one. Bought some biobizz alg-a-mic and bioheaven to try and alleviate the stresses so fingers crossed they do some good.

Hey Buffy, it looks like you are having a host of deficiencies right now. I'm not used to reading the EC measurements in the way you formatted it. Would that be 200 and 600? Anyway If I were you I'd flush the hell out of the plant until run off ph matches the proper range. Then do a feed. This will flush out all nutrients in the soil as well as excess salts. Once you have the ph where you want it give it a regular feed with proper ec/ph. The idea is that you are flushing out the problems and resetting the plant. When you feed the plant after the flush make sure the run off matches your ec/ph goals. Sometimes resetting the slate is the best way to get the plant back on track. Keep in mind this is not always the best thing to do especially later in flower, but looking at your pics its what I would do.
