The Bloom Bloom Room Diaries

We're in our first week of seedlings! 🌱 Over here we're growing two northern lights plants. We started the germination process by putting seeds in a glass of water and left them in there for about 30 hours. They popped open great and even had a tail starting to show after those 30 hours. After the cup we put them on some paper towels on a plate and domed it with a bowl. Placed that into our grow space on a heated mat. By the next day the tail had already grown to about an inch so we decided to plant. We both started ours in solo cups with coco coir. We both tried something different though .. I planted mine in just the coir while my other half started his in a rapid rooter inside the coir. We watered with PHed water to about 5.5 and no nutrients. It really did make a significant difference with him putting his in the rapid rooter. By the next day (01/06/17) his had already popped out from the rooter. The day after that his was already showing its true leaves. Mine had a slower start but from the picture you can see it's moving along. It was showing up from the soil around the 4th day (01/08/17). On the 8th we noticed that there was some browning and yellowing on the edges of the true leaves and on my the seed pod? ( not sure if that's the technical term for it 😅). I looked up some possibilities for the problem and thought that it could be we were overwatering or a nitrogen deficiency. We held off for a day of watering and at the next watering added some hydroponics rapid rooting solution. We added literally a drop of it to the water the last 3 times we watered and the leaves seem to be doing ok. There hasn't been any spreading of the yellowing and the new leaves that have started showing don't show any sign of discoloration either. We're doing 18/6 light schedule and have played music for the plants for a few days. I'll check in next week! If anyone has any questions or suggestions please please please comment or whatever it is you do on here. This is our first grow and I'd love to get to know some other growers and get some advice. 😀😎
