So the start of another grow, I've grown this one before but in coco and canna nutrients.... fancied going full organic and biobizz soil, looking forwards to seeing the differences. Going good so far, germinated in 2 days straight in the soil no messing which is pretty rapid... bit of stretch as I had the light to far dimmed and too far away. First true leaves about to start growing now and ill be repotting into a 5 gallon fabric pot next week. I've pre loaded the soil in the 5 gal to get the microbes going and ready for when its potted up. Will be using living soils range of dry amendments for this run and if they are great then I will use them for the foreseeable. Also will be giving the odd microbe tea here and there from eco-thrive called biosys. Peace growmies ✌️✌️
Week 2 done, she's started growing the secong set of true leaves so I repotted her this morning so there was no root stress issues. Only had to cut the fabric pot off and straight in the 5 gallon so no stress at all. She was starting to look like food will be needed soon so I thought now was a good time. Will give her some biosys end of week 3 for a microbe boost.
Good week of growth, seems to be happy in the new pot. Gave her some biosys a couple days after the repot to get some good beneficial bacteria in the root zone. Started lst at day 18 and will continue until stretch has finished.
Well I've done it again 🙈🙈 snapped the main stem and about 3 nodes with it... i need to be more gentle, seriously! Never mind, she pulled through just fine and is still vegging out nicely after the brutality of my hands lol. Just top dressed with a 50/50 grow and bloom to give some extra pk for the stretch period coming up soon. So simple just watering when dry and 2 weekly microbe teas for a boost. Cant wait for flower, never had such a lush green foliage with 0 deficiency/leaf mutations before so I'm impressed.
Another week done and she is now showing her first pistils, and stretch is well under way. Think she will actually be a good size when she's finished considering what happened. Just gave her some more biosys this morning to get those microbes kickstarted again and will top dress end of this week.
Well she has definitely stretched a bit! Almost 2ft now which I didn't expect, thought she would be shorter because of the damage... seemed to do the opposite. The plant was stressed out a bit and i couldnt figure put what was wrong, leaves were twisting and drooping for no reason.. turns out I'd knocked the timer off on the lights and it was on 24 hours, plant didn't like it one bit. She's recovering now though and happy again... Pistils are now shooting out all over the place so I think stretch is pretty much done. Had a very minor defoliate on the bottom skirts and a few squashed up mangled ones in the middle. Backing off top dressing to every 3 weeks as the tips of some leaves are showing a very slight burn also.
Another week of crazy stretching, I think I let her go a bit too vertical but its practically stopped now so it should be fine, only 12 inches away at the closest point and no extra wiggle room in the tent so it is what it is... the plant is healthy and only a small amount of twisting on the tips of the leaves now, top dressed yesterday with the bloom amendments and watering a gallon every 2 days now. Flowers really starting to build now so im excited to see how she develops, as there are a lot of bud sites.
Been an up and down week, had some issues like the plant getting way too close to the light and some leaves are showing either calcium or phosphorus deficiency, most likely calcium as I top dressed the castings a bit late which have loads of cal/mag in. Had to spread the branches out a bit to get them away from the strongest part of the light to chill the light stress out a bit. Flowers are really starting to fill out now so should be a decent yield come harvest time.
Having quite a bit of trouble with fading leaves, burning and just can't figure out what is going on. I've top dressed on Saturday to try give her a boost, it looks like potassium deficiency but it also looks a touch like toxicity too... very confusing.... so what I'm going to do is just give water until the end now. 4 weeks ish should be ok and I reckon I can limp her home if shit hits the fan. Hoping its just deficiency and the top dress will fix it. I've not overfed with amendments so I don't understand it really. The buds are still growing no problem and calyx are starting to swell in places... all a bit weird.
Had to remove a few dead leaves this week due to this deficiency progressing... not been great but the buds are still growing so its not all lost yet. Gonna be a battle of patience to the end, I've given some epsom salts and more microbe tea with molasses and liquid seaweed to try to give her a boost but I'm yet to see any real change. Hoping that if I just water for a bit things might change, I've also raised the temps up a bit as I have a feeling the roots have been cold from the intake fan blowing cold air in, this affecting uptake of nutrients. We'll see in a few days but I've ordered bio bizz nutes just in case I need them. Only a few weeks left so it should be ok to the end 🤞🤞
So I had to grab some biobizz nutes just to see me through to the end as im not sure how things started going downhill. Only feeding at half the recommended. She has stopped rapidly killing leaves and some of the green has come back, but I've had to remove a lot of dead leaves and necrotic parts of some leaves. Should be fine as really only a couple weeks left till I chop her down. All in all its been an OK week, just pains me to see her looking that rough. Buds still packing on weight and are dense already, so come harvest should get a half decent yield I reckon.
Good week this week, the plant is green again pretty much, the damage has stopped completely and just a week or so to go now til choppy chop. Trichs are looking nearly ready, one or two amber here and there but the majority are cloudy and a few clear still. No more nutrients now so just plain water to the end. See ya next week 🙂
Pulled her down this morning as the trichs were showing she was ready to go. Exactly 8 weeks flowering which is good.... Will update the harvest once everything is dried and weighed up.
Only had a little so far as its literally dry this morning, but its certainly nice and has a tropical, piney, hashy smell and taste to it. Should develop nicely over time.
This was a really goodgrow in the end, much easier than messing about mixing up nutrients every day. Had a few mistakes but the plant took it in her stride and still produced a monster crop of great quality dense buds. Had about 50 to 60 grams of larfy stuff that was chucked into the freezer and then dry sifted for some extra kief. Will make that into either hash or use it to boost joints. Yielded 165 grams of nice size nugs, could have been better without the mistakes but im close to gpw so im more than happy. Done a couple proper macro shots for a change too... Peace guys
@Inganjawetrust, thanks man! This is the second time I've grown this strain and both times its really produced the goods. Beautiful smoke and even better now ive done it all naturally. 😀
@Inganjawetrust, thanks dude! Yeah she's definitely taking off straight away which is good. Wanted a more simple and natural approach to my garden and mixing nutes every other day is a pita lol. Peace ✌️
