What's happening fellas, how is everyone!! Happy to finally start my last diary of this outdoor season: Arjan's Strawberry Haze 😎 Miss Strawberry is the Bond girl of the bunch and hopefully keeps the other 2 in check lol.. She started off pretty much as her little brother Barry, although she stretched a bit more.. At 1 week I tuck in everyone nicely to get the most out of the 1L pots for as long as possible.. Hope she won't bite me in the ass because today's was a rough one.. Gave some Seasol at 25% to tell her I'm sorry, should be alright.. Works with my misses all the time, except not with 25% Seasol but whatever lol.. As you can read in her siblings diaries my timing for Ozzy Outdoor is way off, even with her as the youngest (Jack 2 weeks older) I would still be 4 to 6 weeks early.. Main reason I'm a bit worried of putting them out as they would prefer is 7Gal will be my final pot size (I also have just enough soil/food for 2 and a half plant for the season) so it will be balancing between not putting them out too early and not too let them get rout bound in the current 1L pots.. But honestly, if you look at Jack's diary after, he's already more than ready to be repotted 🙄.. I'm already lowering the lighting hours from 18 to 14 (at 16h now) to slow down growth and to start preparing for outdoor daylight hours.. Other than that, I will go by the plant's health and roots and I'll probably end up putting them out separately but for now, all good! Because of her sativa genetics, the plan with this one will be a spiral shaped LST, Jack will be manifolded to 32 colas and Barry....... not sure yet about him.. Might do something crazy with him but that's for another diary.. Ideas are welcome ofcourse 😂 Like her brother Jack she will be in organic living soil.. Has been curing for 5 weeks now and every week I stirr it up and the smell is just amazing, can't wait.. Cool, thanks for popping around again, much appreciated! Make sure to check her brothers diaries out as well!! Happy growing 👍✌️ Cheers

Hi everyone! Quick little update on the girl.. All good so far and looking happy 👍 She almost doubled in size and her brothers went bananas in week 3 so let the games begin 😁 The moment she allows me, I will start LST (no topping) in this pot for the next 2 weeks.. Probably the same time you would top so next week I would say 😉 Thanks again for tuning in my fellow growers!! ✌️

Hi there peeps, hope everyone is doing well 😎 As you can tell our little Strawberry girl beefed up quite nice and pretty much doubled in size.. Almost to the point of being too beefy for what I have planned for her 😂 Normally I would have here bent over already (this must sound weird 🤣) but I noticed I had to take my time, which I didn't have so didn't want to mess things up 😉 In general I'm very happy with how she's looking, can't wait for them to be all out and about together. Ideally I have the LST done by Saturday so that Sunday I can start hardening her off for the big day the week after 😁😁 Big thanks to everyone for tuning in ✌️

Howdy my fellow colleagues, hope you've been doing well! 👍 I figured I would end little sister's week now knowing that tomorrow it's all going to be about her brothers, she might look from a distance while hardening off (if lucky photobomb a picture 😂) so that's why it's her moment now 😉 Today I started her first of many LST sessions, just to point her in the right direction 🤣 Theoretically she's only 3,5 weeks old and she is as beefy and bushy as her brothers, maybe a bit less beefy because I didn't give her as much gym time knowing she was going to be spiral trained. I also believe that the height of my lights make them this bushy, even with CFL at reasonably height.. Must have it in the sweet spot by mistake 😂 I start hardening off tomorrow and wont do anything more untill putting her out next week, maybe just tighten the top wire a bit more over the next few days untill she's parallel but that's it 💪 Keep an eye on her brothers diaries tomorrow: Jack's first week out in the Ozzy Outdoors and Blue Barry reckons it's his time to leave home behind to start his own outdoor adventure 👍 Thanks again for reading along, appreciate a lot we do 🧟‍♂️✌️

Spiral LST vs topdressing/mulch.. I planned on training like shown in picture, just not sure how this will work out with 1" of mulch and a monthly topdressing with all the pegs/wires, might get tricky. Thought about bending all sec branches to the outside vs 1out 1in?? Cheers

I agree to you, that its might be difficult to to topdressing , if you want to bend her like this. But i would look from a different side 2 Points....as you are growing Outdoors, and sunreaches every small point of the Plant, your Lst, dont have to be so specific like growing under arificial Light The Plant itself You need the fitting strain to your Technic. how elastic is the strain you grow, because the " new Genetics" tend to be super Sturdy . I had afew cases and gave up in "big bending" And another Point,,,,.. maybe alittle Zen...... follow the flow of the Plant,,, if you start binding her, intead of astiff plan. The Girls will be very grateful. aND SHE WILL GROW WAY BETTER

Greetings friends, how y'all doing? 👍 Few, had very busy week finishing the planters and the shade/misting house but proud to announce that all my babies are out the house and on their own 😎 Today was a perfect planting day, bit cloudy but that helped in making everything look nice dark green, bonus.. Planting went smooth and she looks so much better already.. I'll share a very detailed recipe below and pictures of the soil-making process are posted in week 1 of Jack's diary 😉 As you can see, I modified a tomato ring to hopefully kill 2 birds with one stone: 1) give a structure to train main and secondary branches on 2) give working space at soil level (2-3 inches) without pegs/wires interfering with the topdressing. So the idea is to train the main stem 'between' the 2 rings and us those 2 rings (in combination with ties to the planters, or even across to the other side of the ring) to tie down secondary branches to. Instead of a million pegs at soil level I will use the tomato ring as my virtual soil level so that should create the necessary working space below the ring. Ideally I would like to have more space in between rings but this is what I had to work with 🤷. The moment I see she's recovered from today I will start to prune the secondary growth that she has so far. I want to keep the center open so secondary branches will be pruned until she reaches the ring or already in it. Hopefully I have the tomato ring finished by next week's rendezvous 😂 I would love to stay and chit chat but I'm outie 🤣 Thanks again for checking in on us, we love yous too!! 👏✌️ The soil recipe (long read ahead 😂): - 1 part Worm Castings - 1 part OGS Spagnum Peat Moss - 1 part OGS Premium Aeration Mix: Premium Aeration Mix is perfect to keep your soil aerobic. It is composed of Pumice (55%), Rice Hulls (40%) and Zeolite (5%) to bring fantastic air-filled porosity, room for microorganisms to live, additional cationic exchange capacity and slow release Nitrogen and Silica to your soil. Then following products were added at 1/2 cup per cubic feet (7Gal) : - Kelp Meal: Kelp Meal is an excellent source of NPK along with over 60 micronutrients. It has many complex carbohydrates such as Alginic acid, Mannitol, as well as plant plant hormones like Cytokinins, Indoles, Auxins and Gibberellins. These hormones are involved in a variety of process's from enhancing vegetative growth and flowering, all the way through to reducing shock from transplanting, over watering and heat-shock. It is rich in amino acids and minerals which enhance microbial life enormously, helping to ensure a better crop. - 22% mineral content overall - 50% Carbohydrates - 6% Amino Acids - 2% Sulfur (Helps ensure you get the tastiest, most terpene rich harvest possible) - Neem Cake: Neem Cake provides a great source of NPK with values of 4-2-2 respectively and is commonly used in soil mixes and topdressings to provide adequate nutritional support to your plants. On top of this neem has phenomenal Integrated Pest Management (IPM) properties, which occurs through its production of molecules such as Azadirachtin, Salannin and Nimbin, which act as an antifeedant for over 200 species of insects. - Oyster Shell Flour: Oyster Shell Flour is a premium Calcium source that takes longer to break down than other Calcium sources. This means by using Oyster Shell Flour you significantly reduce the risk of lockout issues arising when compared with alternative Calcium sources, which can be completely broken down in a few weeks in an active enough rhizosphere. - Fin 'N' Feather Meal: Fin 'N' Feather Meal contains several components that will provide an abundance of N-P-K to your soil over time. It is long release and will not burn your plants! In microbial rich soil it is an excellent way to quickly provide nitrogen to your garden. Fin 'N' Feather Meal has a superior N-P-K profile and benefit to feather meal since it contains higher levels of calcium to help mobilise the macro-molecules it is accompanied by. I normally would add Crab Meal or Crustacean but the guys from OGS told me to add more Fin 'N' Feather Meal and use their OGS Water Supplement (Hydro Frass): By providing in an easily soluble form of an abundance of minerals, complex sugars, natural plant hormones, amino acids, humic acids, fulvic acids and azomite in the appropriate ratios, Organic Gardening Solutions 'All-In-One' Water Supplement works to alleviate plant stress and promote vigorous growth of both the plants and the microbial populations present in your garden. Components: -Dehydrated Coconut Water: Coconut powder brings to the mix an abundance of cytokinins and auxins which are essential hormones that work together to regulate apical growth and root growth, promote cytokinesis (cell division), and have been shown to slow down senescence by preventing the breakdown of proteins. Also present are amino acids, macro-nutrients, micro-nutrients and other auxin analogues to assist in seed development and flower development, and several mono- and polysaccharides which promote microbial growth. -Dehydrated Aloe Vera: Aloe Vera powder is rich in Salicylic Acid, which plays a role in plant growth, photosynthesis, ion uptake and transport, as well as in the resistance to pathogens through the production of pathogenesis-related proteins. -Humic & Fulvic Acid: Humic and Fulvic acids are organic polymers which co-ordinate and chelate macro-molecules/metals, and assist in facilitating their uptake. They also act to neutralise soil pH, allowing trace elements once bound in the soil to become available to the plant. Fulvic acids have an oxygen content over twice that of humic acids and as such are much more chemically reactive, with an exchange capacity more than double that of humic acids. Because of their small size, fulvic acid molecules can enter plant roots, stems and leaves, carrying trace minerals from plant surfaces into plant tissues. When humic and fulvic acids are applied to soil, increased root growth rates are observed. -Kelp Meal (soluble): Kelp Meal is high in K, and is a source of trace minerals, amino acids, plant micro-nutrients and natural plant hormones. -Azomite (soluble): Azomite is a trace element source, conditioning agent and helps plants better absorb nutrients from soil. The rare earth elements present in Azomite enhance nitrogen fixation by Azotobacter species, which bind atmospheric nitrogen and release it as ammonium ions into the soil. Furthermore, the Azomite present in our 'SuperSoil' acts to reduce stress caused by drought by enhancing Abscisic acid (ABA) production, in turn minimizing the water lost by a plant in transpiration. -Chitosan (Soluble Chitin): Chitin is a potent immuno-modulator within the plant, resulting from stimulation of the SAR (systemic aquired resonce) pathway, which stimulates a variety of benneficial process' within the plant. These range from increased terpene and flavinoid production, greater heat bug and stress resistance as well as a greater uptake of nutrients. Chitosan is your secret wepon to providing an unparalled harvest. As you can tell I mulched the Emperor with a bit less than an inch of Alfalfa Meal: Alfalfa contains the naturally occurring growth hormone triacontanol which improves the root system, develops root mass and enhances photosynthesis via secondary messengers which overall results in larger crops. Triacontanol can improve yields by 50% !!! 🤯🤯🤯😂😂😂

What's happening my friends 😁👍 Miss Strawberry will kick off this weeks updates as she was the last one to be transplanted last week. In conditions far from ideal she did very well, and she looks very happy and healthy 😎 She grew another node and pointed upwards again. Also the secondary growth developed good. Today I trimmed 2 big lower fan leaves and 6 growtips and it's so nice to finally see those sexy legs 😂 I also did another round of LST, took the top tie off and placed it on the new node 😉 I would say that after 2 more tie downs like this she will be in the right spot to start the spiral. See how we go.. Better get that tomato ring sorted, no updates on that yet 🙄 We had a few rainy days so there was no watering/feeding. Tomorrow they all get a drink so hopefully see yous then!! Thanks for peeping in!! 👍✌️

Today I noticed all my outdoor plants have pistils after being 3-5weeks outside. Is this normal and will they continue veg due to increasing days/temps? Also, could this be reversed with additional light? Currently in the 7th week of Spring with 14h light and 13h sunrise.

The time now at 13 hours sun and 14 light is where most photo cannabis starts to flower. You would need to add another hour or more to the sunlight to stop her from budding. Cheers

Hi there mates!! 👍 Bit later than usual but here we are. Last week all my plants showed maturity/sex and yes that scared the shhht out of me 😂 I added an extra light source to make sure I have 14h daylight untill the days are actually 14h long (18/11). Light goes on at 18.00 which is still daylight, just to add some cooler light at sunset, and the first day they got turned off at 20.15, yesterday at 20.14 and today at 20.13. Days are getting 2min longer each day (1min at rise and 1min at set) so the minute more they get at sunrise I take back at sunset untill 18/11 where sunset and turning off the lights should be at the same time. From there they're back on their own 😁 Another thing I noticed on the little girl are mutant leaves. Jack has a few leaves that are missing one of the smallest fingers but this one here is in full X-MEN modus. Seems like 3 extra leaves are growing from the centre 😲 Not that it bothers me but anyone has an idea what might've caused this? I'm thinking or stress related or maybe that the pistils from showing sex turned into this. Crazy actually that I didn't see this earlier 🤦😂 Besides light I will also add some more N over the next few weeks. Gave them 1.5L rainwater yesterday and today/tomorrow will have some showers as well so good for the alfalfa mulch to break down and give some of that N to the soil. Tomorrow I probably topdress with some Fin 'N'Feather (12%N, 1.5%P, 0.5%K) water or let that rain in and then Sunday give them all a fresh layer of alfalfa. That should tick off: more light, more N and less K 😎 Ofcourse feel free to add 🤓 Thanks for reading along folks!! 👍✌️

Howdy fellas!! First a few updates to bring everyone up to speed: -Wednesday I topdressed with Fin 'N' Feather (forgot to take a picture of the actual topdressing because I had a visitor and as you can maybe tell it was raining and getting dark as well so I was a bit under the pump 😂). -Thursday I prepared the ring with wire. This will act as a frame to train the plant under. -Saturday I gave them their first foliar spray with fresh Aloe Vera gel. From now on this will be done weekly until flowering. Today was a gorgeous day, best day of the week 😎 Miss 🍓 had a very good week and has fully taken off and obviously recovered from showing sex. Difficult to say if my interventions helped or were necessary all together, but for sure I'm more than happy that I did, better be safe than sorry right? Together with Barry she performed better than Jack, but that's mainly due to topping I reckon, 4 times already for Jack (1 more😁), twice for Barry and none for this one. Today she got trained in The Ring and in doing so I had to trim the lower set of leaves/growtips. I used a wire for the initial bend just because I needed the extra leverage, from here the main stem will be trained under the frame of wires. 💪 It was also then that I decided to only keep the uneven nodes in the Ring because those grow horizontal from the stem, much easier to train them after 😉 Next watering I will start adding the water supplements as well. Lights have been on as planned, gradually lowering untill sunset on 18/11 🤓 Thanks everybody and see yous next time!! Stay safe!! 👍✌️

Good day my fellow companions 👍 You probably know by now, but anyway: 😂 Let's catch up on last Monday's first watering with the added organic supplements first. See week 5 of this diary for a detailed explanation 😉 Little girl had a cracker last week 🍓🐉 She definitely wants to finish The Ring by the end of veg and she just might actually: By my calculations (so basically I better ask my experienced Ozzy Outdoor friends 🤣🤣🤣): We are in week 10 of Spring, so if flower starts towards the end of Summer that would mean 12-14 more weeks of veg 😲 Strawberry Dragon is currently at part 3/16 in The Ring 😁😎 One thing I noticed is that by the time we get to the end, the first nodes will be touching the roof (definitely the tips on the inside) due to my limited training space towards the middle. For the moment, the only solutions that come to mind is 1) Train everything towards the outside (maybe keep a few on the inside) 2) Keep the original plan but go 3D with the growtips on the inside by pulling them down to the real soil level if they grow too tall 3) ?? For now there's no reason for panic, just for thought 😉 Not a fan of #2 tho lol Thanks for popping around, be safe!! 👍✌️

Hi friends, how's everyone doing 👍 Miss Strawberry 🍓 had a good week and looks happy and growing well. I finished adjusting the shade house to provide some more protection against the scorching ☀️🔥 at its peak.. Today will be 40°C but overcasted by the looks of it 😓 As for the girl today (yesterday) I just pruned some fan leaves/growtips and tightened down the growtips @ node #1. Towards the middle this is the furthest I will/can go. So I adjusted the plan a bit 😎😁: As you can maybe tell already now, it will be nearly impossible to have a growtip on the inside on every part (16) of the frame as things will become too crowded 🙄 That's why I will keep all 16 on the outside but only 4-8 on the inside (I'm leaning towards 4) to keep everything manageable. In doing so I will prune growtips as I need them so not necessary keep 1,3,5 remove 2,4,6 because I noticed already now that that's not how it will work out anyway 🙃 This morning (not in pictures) I pruned 1 growtip that was on the inside at frame part #2.. That opened her up heaps so should be better 😉 She also just didn't make it under frame part #4 but that's alright, plenty of time (and sunshine) left.. Like the others she gets Aloe foliar spray on Saturday evening and supplemented waterings on Sunday and 1 (soon 2) midweek depending on the weather. Thanks for reading along peeps, much appreciated 👍 Make sure to check out my 2 other Ozzy Outdoor diaries as well 🕵️‍♂️ Take care and see you next week ✌️
