This is my first grow as I mentioned above. I used nature’s living soil in a 5 gallon fabric pot. I mixed the natures living organic super soil concentrate with regular organic potting soil on the bottom 1/3 of the pot. I mixed organic potting soil with shredded coco coir in the remaining 2/3.
The video is actually from 4 days after I planted my germinated seed. Found the vid after I already posted Week 1! With the seed being an autoflower I was worried it looked a little small at first, but I was wrong...
These pics are from Day 12, Day 16, then Day 18. Forgot to put the Day 12 pics on week 2 post... Starting to see some potential here. Been watering every 5 days or so. I just poke my finger in the top of my pot to feel how dry it is. Also picking up the pot gently to see how light it feels. Spraying a little bit around the top with water probably once a day. PH always in between 6.3-6.8 I use water that goes through a Brita Filter.
If you haven’t realized by now idk how a calendar works lol! Really still wasn’t planning on doing a grow diary on my grow at this point so I’m really just showing you progression pictures along the way.
Plant is starting to need more water. Still using finger poke and grabbing the pot method. Plant is looking really good! Still using the spray bottle, still PH 6.3-6.8 with Brita Filter. Starting to really believe in the Natures Living Soil. Which by the way is one of the worst smelling thing I’ve ever encountered... I also added a fan to my grow tent at some point around Week 2-3. I read that can make the plant stronger. Things seem to be going well!
Transformation from Week 4 to Week 5 in these pics. She keeps surprising me with the growth! Not much growth was going on at the end of week 4 and beginning of week 5 but I was out of town this past weekend and came back and was surprised to see the growth. Some branches finally got some more length creating more open space for the bud sites to receive light.
Not much to complain about with my plant. Still have some brown or white spots on some of the fans leaves. None of the leaves are burned or spotted on the tips of the leaves so I’m not super worried about it. Also have no idea what the problem is so not sure what to try.
Unfortunately was unsuccessful trying to plant my second seed. I’ve gone through like 4 or 5 other seeds trying to get a second plant going. Proves what a beauty the current one is!! She must want to keep all my attention. Might just leave the one plant going until harvest then I’ll make sure to get 2 plants going next round. I am hoping my current plant will be ready for harvest in about 5 weeks.
Things are still going pretty well. I did accidentally snap a branch off with a decent sized bud site on it. It was hanging on by a thread so I tried to leave it taped overnight. Next morning it was hanging there so I cut my losses and threw her out. Plant seemed to recover fine from it.
It seemed like it took forever for the bud sites to finally open open and truly start flowering. Finally towards the end of week 6 really starting to see a lot more white hairs forming on the bud sites. (You’ll see what I’m talking about in my next post!)
I did experiment with having only the bloom switch on for about a week. I think that was during week 5. I switched back to having both the veg and bloom switch on. Hoping these start flowering fast, 10 weeks is coming up quick!
All pictures above were from week 7. First few pics are day 49 and last few pics are day 55.
My girl has blossomed and has developed a good amount of bud sites. I still think she is slightly delayed on her grow but I am not worried.
I trimmed a few fans leaves off towards the bottom. I know there are mixed feelings on trimming with autoflowers. Please feel free to share your ideas on that with me.
Bud sites are starting to grow a little bit. I am slightly worried that my 1200w LED light could be too strong for my plant. A few weeks back I saw a tiny bit of curling from leaves towards the top that could’ve been from the light being too strong or too close. After Week 8 I switched from having both the veg & bloom lights on to only the bloom. I am hoping this helps the buds form better than having both switches on but I am just experimenting. Once again this is my first grow!!
I did quite a bit of trimming from week 6 though week 8. I am hoping it didn’t affect my auto too much, things still seem to be going well. I wanted to get a little more light exposure because I was pleasantly surprised to see some bud sites start growing lower on branches. I am not going to trim anymore now that I am into Week 9 and it seems the buds are really starting to form now.
I also am going to slowly start preparing my plant for harvest by getting it used to a little bit of darkness. Not sure if that really has much affect on autoflowers, just an idea I had the other day. Through week 9 I will be going 21hrs on 3hrs off.
Things still seem to be going well. Trimmed a couple more leaves off that were dying but I think now I am done clipping anymore leaves off. She still seems to be growing slow.
Not many updates other than that! Hope to start seeing the bud grow soon.
Question: When I see 10 weeks advertised for the grow time is that only the Flowering time? Starting to think that this possibly may be the case with my seed.. definitely looks like could be done around 14 weeks
I'm excited to watch your progress! Am also using same tent with 600w led and growing i49 Bruce banner...mine got off with a little rough start but improving over time. Good luck with your grow man!!
@Kushk, it’s all good. I ended up doing only the bloom switch for about a week. Didn’t notice much of a difference for anything. I’ve read the more light the better and if you can provide full spectrum then you should. Looking for advice from anyone!! Once again first time grower here.
In my early posts I talked about the soil I use. Natures living soil. It come with all the nutrients packed in there. Kinda pricey if you plan on growing a lot but I haven’t given my plant anything but ph balanced water the whole time!
@MooseMan420, hey! Sorry for late response I've been so busy! Unfortunately the light I have is only on a one switch schedule. I was hoping the light would come with a veg and bloom switch but i guess I didn't pay attention when ordering! Anyway so I only had one 600w led(maxisun brand off Amazon) running the whole veg period and about a week after, now I have 2 600w lights running, if u look I updated a picture that kinda shows my tent set up, pretty simple but it's working so far.
I looked at your most recent pictures and info, looking good man. Was wondering if you were using nutrients? I didn't see any info on your update. Take care and happy growing!
@Kushk, I checked out your Bruce banner. Looking very similar to mine at week 3! What is your plan for when your plant reaches flowering? Will you turn on both LED switches or will you just run the bloom switch? I turned on the bloom switch the other day and kept the Veg switch on as well because I have been trying to get a second seed sprouted in there.
