This is the Blackberry Breath by Jordan of the Islands. Grew the seeds into moms and now finally growing out some clones.
I wouldn't call this pic week one, but I would call it more interesting than the week 1 pic. Here are the moms in the BG and the clones in the foreground.
I actually prefer cloning in DWC which is why I wanted to run these, the old school way. I don't want to only know how to clone one way.
Not too much to write about at this point.
Bit of a slow week for the clones. Growing away, doing their thing.
I've tried to pre-sex them all in veg and think I got them all.
Great blackberry smell coming off some of these as I move them around, really excited to see the terp profiles after harvest.
Everything is being grown in 50/50 coco perlite with an autopot system which functions like a reservoir with a float valve, as the plants drink their water is refilled at the same time, as much as needed.
And they're off! Always a little slow when they get transplanted and stretch out those roots. But after that is done, BAM! Lots of growth.
Slowly ramping up the flower lights to get them used to the extra power and in a week or so I'll flip to flower.
Interestingly enough, I found one plant that has some chunks eaten out of the leaves! Like caterpillar styles! Never found any guests in the plant, and it has stopped now so I guess whatever it was didn't like the taste.
Otherwise, nothing to report, just growing along happily.
Time for some flower power! Flipping to flower this week and all that goes with it, lights go up in intensity and change to the bloom spectrum. Humidity comes down to 30% to help with tighter nugs and aid with transpiration. I'll trim a little over the next 3 weeks then lollypop at the end of week 3 to help reduce larf. Wish my AC could work with CO2 but that's just a dream for now. Looking forward to staggering 3 grows in this room, I have some other plants just vegging up to come in here, prob 4-6 weeks away.
Nothing outstanding to note. Stretch is happening as expected, got to get in there with some scissors, and thin things out soon. Found a few leaves on one of the plants that were being eaten by something, but whatever that was has gone. That's literally it, they just drink water and eat sun and that's it. Good life.
Life in the garden is good, these girls are really starting to take off now. Some SUPER thick stems and MASSIVE leaves. Not the best internodal spacing though, thinking I might see golf balls from this strain. Though maybe I'll get softballs you never know. Speaking of which the last pheno hunt yielded one plant that grew two tiny buds and a fox tail hehehehe, yes I'm 12. One plant is much bushier than the rest and has better spacing. This one also has the strongest terps so hoping it ends up being the winner but only time will tell.
Slight adjustment to the nutrients other than that the stretch is still going! 10 inches in a week! Hoping we slow down soon or I'm going to have to stat flipping some colas on their sides. Not a big deal really, we're just phenohunting after all.
Looks like we're holding at 5ft for the tallest Cola, buds are looking a little small so far, I was hoping for something a bit... well, bigger but still plenty of time left to grow. And one pheno is showing yellow rusty leaves.
Well, looks like it's popcorn buds from this strain. Super frosty little nugs though! Looking forward to seeing what they're like, probably another 3-4 weeks to go though
