Second grow, this time with 2 plants, of the same strain as my first grow.
My theory being that by the time these are flowering it'll be spring/summer, and I can remove the oil radiator from the tent, making more space for the pair.
I'm working these to a tight deadline of early July to be harvested and dried, and based on the last grow I think I'll have enough time. Just.
The first grow has taught me a lot, and I'm hoping that will help massively with this one.
I'm thinking of topping them to increase the colas near the lamp, and will definitely be a bit more aggressive with the defoliation. I might try fimming too, depending on how they grow.. It's a bit early to say for sure yet.
I'd like to try LST to shape the plants for even better distribution of bud sites near the lamp, but that might be something for the third grow.
My main objectives this grow is to get more yield from the same space in the same time or less as the previous grow.
I'm already ahead I hope.. The first grow was under a small 18w CFL until day 12 after planting. These are under the big lamp on day 4.
Repotted to big pots, and watered with a very weak feed.
The PH of my water was about 8, so I added a few drops of PH Down to bring it to around 6
These girls appear to be developing faster than the first grow. Keeping them warm seems to be key.
I bought a 400W HPS and that went in on day 12, because I need more heat.. Using the CFL and supplementing with a heater is a bit of a waste of electricity in this weather.
Some strange behaviour this week - brown patches on the leaves of one plant, and some slight canoeing.
I boosted the cal-mag slightly, but as the other plant is fine I'm thinking it could just be transplant shock, or shock from the fimming.
New growth is coming through a lot greener, so I hope it's just temporary.
@bobo420, they weren't as established in the small pots as they could be. I left my first grow a bit longer before transplanting and they were quire root bound in the smaller pots, so I figured I'll try this one a bit earlier and see what the results are. Whichever seems better is what I'll stick with. Good old trial and error ;-)
@biggreens420, size-wise they're already about 4 days ahead of the first grow, after only 9 days. So that's a good start. I won't overfeed these so badly either.. Hopefully.
Hello, I enjoyed reading your report and seeing your beautiful plants.
I’m using the same seeds as you right now. I also faced some calmag issues, but they bounced back very fast.
The brown spots will stay of course, but that doesn’t seem to be a big problem, they just add some character.
I wish you all the best and a bountiful harvest!👊
