Mind Flayer by Solfire Gardens

Started the seed in Happy Frog soil mixed with a bit of perlite and mycorrhizae. Watered with RO water twice. Once when planted and once three days later leading up to the end of week one.

Plant is growing strong and is most certainly ready to be transplanted. I am trying my hand out at organics this time around to see if I can save the hassle of mixing nutrient water all the time. I have mixed together Fox Farms Ocean Forest as my base soil with Earth Dust Base, worm castings, mycorrhizae from Dynomyco, and perlite. I then let this soil cook while occasionally mixing and adding water if it was getting dry. I did this for four weeks. At 14 days old I have transplanted to a five gallon fabric pot and also topped the plant. I haven't topped a plant this early before but I suspect it will work out fine. I am using RO water so I may have to add calmag in the future but we will have to see. Hoping for some fantastic results from this plant.

Things are going to be smooth sailing for the next week or two. Plain waterings for now. The topped plant is showing some new growth from the topped site. This may be an indication topping has failed. Will have to wait and see. Next week I am going to introduce my first tea to the plants in an effort to starve off any potential deficiency issues. Im thinking a compost tea with fish emulsion, worm castings, and some organic earth dust base.

This week is full of training. Check the pictures with captions but here is a summary. Plant one got topped last week. This topping semi failed resulting is odd growth which I cut off once again. This grew four beautiful tops. Happy with the result. Plant is growing tall and lanky with plenty of light penetration. Was the most excellent choice to top this one. Plant two was a more short and stout pheno. Giving this one lst to create a sweet mother plant to clone to save money and dial in my organic soil mixes. Hopefully the smoke off these Plants is great and makes the work worth it. Looking into more organic mixes to top dress with in the coming weeks and perhaps going to dabble in an organic compost tea to help feed next week. No idea when I'm going to switch to flower. I have a 4x4 to move these two into whenever I'm ready so I have plenty of time. Just want to get plent of clones first. Thats all for this week. Thanks for reading

The plants got a Fish fertilizer tea this week. Added fish emulsion, worm castings, molasses, and a bit of compost to a 5 gallon aerated bucket and let sit for 36 hours. Wet the plants and soil with a neem oil extract solution to keep bugs away as a precautionary measure. Next week or the following week, depending on how the plants look, I will be topdressing with Earth Dust Boost and worm castings and having an alfalfa meal tea as well. Pheno 1 is showing great results from the early topping as well as the LST. The canopy is going to be full of strong sturdy branches. Pheno 2 is not as nice. Decided to try topping further along and using lst. Next run will train identical to pheno 1. Going to try and recover pheno 2 with intense lst to expose more tops. Have taken two clones from each plant and will continue doing so periodically as they become ready at the same time accomplishing a lollipop technique that I will incorporate into a SOG I'm thinking after a few more weeks of veg. Plan on putting these two plants into a 4x4 to flower and hoping to fill out the entire canopy. Not sure how long a veg will be necessary yet. I am coming to photos for the first time after growing many autos. Thats all for this week

This week was all plain watering and very little training. I mostly let the plants recover from the cloning and trimming I had done. Slight LST to keep canopy relatively even. Next week I will feed with an alfalfa tea I have brewing now. Thats all for this week.

So this week was a big week. Transplanted from 5gallon to 30gallon fabric pots. What a chore that was. The soil I used is the same mix from the week one. The plants seem to love the transplant obviously. I used some chopped up stems from previous harvest as a bit of a mulch and planted some white clover on top as a living mulch. When I harvest and till my soil the clover will mix back in and help fertilize. The plants received a tea of fish meal, molasses, alfalfa, and Earth Dust Base. Clones have successfully rooted 4 out of 4 and I have moved into one gal pots. The have started cleaning the lower canopy to lollipop a bit but im doing it slowly as to not upset the plant. Also doing some more aggressive LST to even the canopy and help the second plant catch up. Contemplating using a trellis net. Thats all for this week.

This week I prepared the plants to begin their flowering. This process involved cleaning up the lower canopy of whatever wasnt going to produce. This resulted in lots of clones. I applied vigorous LST to the more dominant of the two phenos to keep them more level. I have cleared out this tent and will be devoting 600 watts of LED power to these two plants. The plants received a heavily amended tea tonight the same day I've switched the lighting schedule. A heavy feed to encourage prosperous growth during the stretch. Im very excited. The clover cover crop is growing in finally and thats actually pretty exciting to me as well. I guess I just enjoy gardening in general. I'm going to be ordering some In House Genetics this Friday on their drop so if you're interested I'll be doing another detailed grow on those as well starting as soon as they arrive. This week was the first week of 12/12 and for the journal im calling it week one of flower as thats what most people go by. The plant is going through its stretch and after two days of letting it adjust I cranked the watts up to 400. Going up to 450 right after I post this. Then to 500 and 600 will come at the end of week 2. Letting em have it. The plants are loving life. Big box fan hits the lights and tops of branches. Small oscillating fan on the lower canopy. I also have an oscillating fan that swings about as it pleases. The plants grew from 24-31 inches (7in) in 7 days. The strain says to advise for a reasonable stretch. Im hoping week two brings even more. I have another 6 inches or so of light space and im 18-22 inches from the canopy now. I think I've planned perfectly. I added the golden secret to the mix today. I mixed in sea bird guano from down to earth along with earth worm castings and earth dust boost all as a topdress. This will get a tea that is brewing now in a day or so. The tea consist of earth dust boost, some soil, worm casting, alfalfa meal, and fish emulsion. The N will carry into any additional stretch. The remaining components will pair with the guano and send the plant into a beautiful flower. The original 4 clones are beginning to root and have now made new growth. That all for this week

This week started with the tea mentioned last week. Other than that aquarium water this week. Plants grew another 6 inches or so this week and the lights have been turned up to 500 watts. 600 watts tomorrow. Having a hot flash in my region right now out of the blue causing temperatures to be a few degrees higher than I prefer. Should only last a few more days. Bud development looks like its going to be tight. Im hoping for little rocks that plink as they hit the trim board. You can see the plants are loving the light and praying beautifully. Plants are stacking nicely. Just finished my 5x4 raised bed that will be used to flower my 6 clones from this batch. All plain water this week. Alfalfa and seabird guano tea next. Getting some real nice frost. First sets of smells coming on. Very funky. All for this week.

Finally beginning to get a smell. And it is super pleasant. Almost hard to believe its cannabis. Im can not wait for these terpenes to fully develop. I have to water about 3 gallons of water per plant at least every two days. I cant believe the demand for water. I have been very busy lately as I just bought a new 180 gal aquarium that im planting so sorry for the delays.

Purple is really coming in fast. With the color seems to be the smell. Still very fragrant. Like a girly smell or something. Very pleasant. Beginning to begin to become a bit gassy and I love it. Had a branch fall over. When I was tying it up I couldn't believe the density of these nuggets. Im gonna be so happy with this harvest. All branches are now hooked to each other and then anchored to the tent supports. Feeding a tea every third watering. About to top with ewc and earth dust boost for a final time. Getting a bit more fade than id like at this point but I blame the lack of pot size. Will all work out still.

Plants got a little dry this week. Left the house for four days in total and that was one day too many I would say. Caused some of the discoloration you see. Other than that the nugs are stacking great. Smell is awesome. Everything supported. Now autopilot for a couple weeks

The pheno i was excited for has just turned into a fox tailed mess. Hopefully its just cosmetic. Plants are drinking 3 gallons each every day sometimes I get two days. I left them for three days and saw signs of severe stress. Second pheno is turning into a beauty. Lots of crystals, colorful, incredibly dense. Smell is strong. Smacks me in the face when I open the tent. Branches needed much more support than I have given. When picking up fallen branches I cant believe the weight. The clones I have are all going to be trellised.

Picture dump today. Non foxtail pheno is nearly done. Starting to frost up. Hopefully nearing the end here. Pheno two is just throwing wave after wave of new pistils. Probably still be throwing pistils after the new year at this rate (hopefully an exaggeration). Topdressed with castings to finish off a few gnats here and there. Water only until the finish now.
