Planted straight into Happy Frog Soil in a solo cup.
Will be an organic grow with some LST. No topping. I have never grown this strain and would like to familiarize myself with it before I get too fancy.
I have heard excellent reviews about this breeder and even better things about this strain and particularly its smell. Hoping to come across some DANK!
Thanks for reading.
Transplanted the two plants into 3 gal fabric pots with my organic soil.
The mix is Fox Farms Ocean Forrest, Earth Dust Base, earth worm castings, mycorrhizae, and perlite. I then let this cook for four months.
One seedling is a bit deformed but im sure it will grow out of it. Watered with RO water. Considering adding a base of straw or something to help keep the soil moist between watering for the microbial life.
Will be turning my lights up from 150W to 200W this week as well. Give em a nice steady increase for the next few weeks.
Things are going to be smooth sailing for the next week or two. Plain waterings for now.
The deformed seedling is showing some pretty odd structure but its still growing so hopefully it's not too detrimental.
Next week I am going to introduce my first tea to the plants in an effort to starve off any potential deficiency issues. Im thinking a compost tea with fish emulsion, worm castings, and some organic earth dust base.
A little boring this week but the plants are about to take off.
I have chose not to train either plant because the first pheno is tall and lanky and has no problem with light penetration and i have plenty of room.
The second pheno is the oddity and it has multiple tops already and seems to be growing relatively fine and may even produce quite well optimistically.
I have chosen to add a tablespoon of base nutrients for the nitrogen as well as multiple tablespoons of boost for flowering to each plant mixed in with earth worm castings.
The Earth Dust nutrients dont recommended adding more Base mix to the top dress but they do call for top dressing with Boost a week before flower.
I chose to topdress with the castings as well as the bit of Base to avoid potential deficiency issues. Perhaps not necessary but I dont believe it will hurt.
Next week I'll use a fish emulsion tea and that should set the course for the next few weeks hopefully.
Casually adding cal mag to the water as well since I'm using RO water.
Thanks for reading.
The plants got a Fish fertilizer tea this week. Added fish emulsion, worm castings, molasses, and a bit of compost to a 5 gallon aerated bucket and let sit for 36 hours.
After the feeding the skywalker pheno 1 showed downward tips and dark leaves indicating a slight excess of nitrogen.
I am happy about the slight excess because my previous grows showed nitrogen deficiency later in flower and im hoping this will help deter that in this grow.
Flowering and stretch is beginning and within a couple more weeks I should have some beautiful nugs.
Wet the plants and soil with a neem oil extract solution to keep bugs away before flowering as a precautionary measure.
Next week or the following week, depending on how the plants look, I will be topdressing with Earth Dust Boost and worm castings and having an alfalfa meal tea as well.
Thats all for this week.
All plain watering this week. Have an alfalfa tea brewing now for next week.
Pheno 2 has some kind of slight issue. Hopefully it is nothing to worry about. If anyone has a suggestion let me know.
Both plants are looking very promising.
Thats all for this week.
Another simple week of mostly just water.
Topdressed both plants with earth dust boost as well as earth worm castings.
Have a fish, alfalfa, etc... tea brewing now for tomorrow.
Expect another 3 weeks at a minimum id suspect.
Lowered the light and gave a tea feeding this week. I am pretty happy with what im seeing however I've seen my first few leaves begin to fade. Its not alarming to me but the tea will keep the rest around for the duration.
I fed with very small part fish emulsion, decent bit alfalfa meal, earth dust boost, earth worm castings, and then aerated for 24 hours. What a smell.
This should carry the plants through to harvest think. They have also had a sprinkle how earth dust boost as a topdressing. Any excess of amendments dont go to waste as i reuse my soil.
Thats all this week. If there's the off chance you have been keeping up weekly I apologize I didn't get these last two weeks out on time. I had the pics but no time to type an analysis I felt was worth anyone's time.
This week was all water.
I have a final tea brewing with some seabird guano and bat guano. This is coming a bit late but its for my other plants so they will get some too.
The first pheno is fading a bit more than I'd like but its going to be okay. Second pheno is exactly how I'd like it.
Both plants look ready to finish up pretty close to the breeder recommendation of 10 weeks.
In retrospect I would use 5 gal pots at least for these. I dont mind my decision however because im switching to photo plants anyway and these last few autos are getting less and less of my attention.
Began checking trichomes this week. Mostly cloudly. Spotted maybe one or two amber in total. I'm gonna let this run closer to 20 percent amber.
One guano tea and then aquarium water from here on out.
The smell is definitely unique. I can't put a fair evaluation on it yet because its near some other plants.
After harvest ill write up a nice smoke report. Thinking another week or two till chop.
Plants will only get water from here on out. New wave of white pistils and still no amber trichomes.
This looked like it would be the final week earlier but now it seems I have probably two more weeks to go. The plant tells you when its done. All there is to that.
Sorry for the lack of photos first and foremost.
Cut this plant about a week earlier than I'd have liked due to time constraints. Was only about 5 to 10 percent amber. Still within the harvest window for many.
The buds smell like a fresh shot firework. I really enjoy that and so did my buddies who were hunting lol.
Rock solid nugs which is what I was looking for.
If you really cared for these plants I could see averaging about 4oz per plant. These were more a nuisance to me than anything. I simply had too many projects at once.
The high is great. Strongest auto ive run yet. Really makes me wanna sit down and veg out which is what I smoke for. Results like this keep me thinking I may run and auto once in awhile still just because
