Main-lining tutorials suggest removing new growth tips from the manifold (red, orange, blue) to avoid wasting energy; does this apply to the main colas (white) after the final topping? Should I remove or keep growth tips that emerge from nodes at each level?

Hello uselesslemma, Keep the growth tips that emerge from nodes at each level. I see in your diary that you have a great progress going on! Good luck with your project, I wish you all the best! 👽

Hello, First of all Welcome to grow diaries :) Your plants are looking great. I would not of advised mainlining your first grow though it is impressive. I find it better to get a couple of grows under your belt doing straight runs and topping if you are growing for yield you will have much better production and fill the space alot quicker. I myself try and limit training to only if its needed. with hydroponic especially DWC support is the biggest issue you are going to run into. Plants with no medium in the late flowers of growth are simply too heavy to stand alone. They will lean or fall over in drastic cases. Elastic netting has your back here. If you are carrying on to mainling in hope of scrogging the plant then sometimes only simple high stress training is needed really by topping once or twice you seem to get the same effect as mainlining as long as you keep on top of defoliation. though im not sure what your growing for weather that be max yield or quality over quantity ? There is no reason why you cant have both :) Anyways not knocking you in anyway I started in hydroponics and infact have only ever done one soil run in my 5 years growing lol too many factors to go wrong for my liking. I love the control of DWC. EC your water then Ph your water and then all you need is time :)
