highlifefarm Ready Get set Go. Kicking the start of an adventure. First timer. After reading quite a bunch of advises. I am soaking the Royal seed in water for 24h. I won't cover the glass. Thank you for reading Day 2: Time to move the seed to germinate slowly in a paper towel that is moist enough. After doing some research, I have decided to use distilled water to moist the paper towel. So i had to prepare homemade distilled water using a very simple technique. Open to share the technique if you need. For this step I took two identical plates that would make like a dome when tied together with an elastic. I used 4 paper towel sheet. Two in the bottom and two to cover the seeds. I put the first two on the first plate, pour some distilled water on it, removed excess, put the seed on it, covered with the two other paper towel then cover with the other plate. Tied everything together with two elastics. I think we will have to wait for day 6 to transplant, finger crossed. Day 3: Surprise Surprise, the baby seed is showing its roots quite fast, After only a day in the dome, i guess it is ready to go in its pot for it to continue its growth. I thinking i should not wait longer as the roots are 1cm overnight and i don't want it to get stacked in the paper towel. Time to prepare my soil mix. I have documented myself quite a lot, I am using organic soil, mixed with perlitte and only a little peat moss right in the middle where the seed will bed. Now that's ready, time to carefully transplant from paper towel to final pot. Pay Attention if the paper towel is too dry it may harm the root when you try to pick it off, you better pour some water on the paper towel before picking the germinated seed up. REMEMBER TO HELP THE SEED A LITTLE BY PUTTING THE ROOTS IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION THAT IS ROOT IN BOTTOM AND SEED HEAD ON TOP. no need to be super precise as the seed and roots will find its way.

highlifefarm We had a quite satisfying 1st week i must say. The seed sprouted well, the transplant to final pot was smooth, and thanks mother nature it germinated out of the soil and we have a little baby on. I have covered the little plant with a plastic dome to protect it from predators and keep the humidity high as advised. I am not sure if my "dome" is ok please let me know if you notice anything that i must change immediately. I am feeding the little baby with water only with a pH of 6.8. I am very afraid to use tap water as i am not sure of the level of acidity. I am expecting to get hold of a pH paper to test the tap water first then i will decide. For now i am buying bottle of mineral water. I can also be wrong here so please let me know if i am. As advise by some growmie, I am giving the baby 150ml of water nearly every morning, I let the soil dry a bit for the plant root to get the oxygen needed for the growth. Day 12: I took some photos to get some comment from you guys. I need to know if the long stem (whitish) look ok and if the yellowish leaves look ok as they seem to fall instead of being firm? highlifefarm Hi Growmies, The baby is at its third week. I was expecting more leaves growth but I will learn to be more patient. :) It looks healthy to be honest my non expert view of it. It look dwarf as such :) I decided to give it a good dose of tap water yesterday I am afraid of the pH should be below 6.2 but I had to. I cannot continue ruining the budget with bottled spring water as I had to consider the impact of the minerals even if low. Drawback I am losing the control on the pH I consider taking of the dome too after receiver some advises thank you answers of the questions I posted. Good response and guidance. Thank you warmly I have to start thinking about when and how to give the baby nutrients. This is my next quest. As the dome is off now I also have to think of how to keep predators away from the baby. I like to remain natural and harm the less possible, Day 21: Decided to updated today as the last day of 3rd week. Check photos. Any advices are most welcome. Thank you
