Day 2, beautiful little seedling just sprouted. Will put it on LST when the time comes.
Setup is the same as my older two autos. Sprouted in water and planted directly in a 5L pot in soil, mixed with easy boost organic pellets and mycorrhiza root booster, growing outdoors under natural light, low tech growth with only basic nutrients, no special equipment (pH meters, humidity regulators etc). Watering using bottled water (abt 7.1pH) the slightly acidic soil (6.2pH according to the manufacturer) seems to balance it fine for the other ones so I'm not too worried.
Day 10, seems to be growing fine, it's been a rather rainy and somewhat windy last couple of days and it seems to have decided to LST itself on its own 😯 (it straighten out later though so it's all good now!)
Day 26 my sweet little ball of ice cream is thriving and I couldn't be happier. Nothing much to report, standing at almost 20 cm tall she popped her first pistils a few days ago and is happily soaking up the sun for as long as the weather allows her.
Day 35, Baby is doing great, weather couldn't be better for this time of the year and baby couldn't be happier. Started her on bloom booster a couple of days ago and her bud sites exploded with pistils all over the place.
Day 42 4, bloom booster feeding continues as flowering continues unimpeded! The natural shortening of daytime in Autumn (and subsequent lack of sunlight) has kept it short but the relatively mellow temperatures should still allow it to bloom nicely.
Day 49,
Stubby but mean looking little thing! Growing outdoors in Autumn certainly has its drawbacks, the steep angle of the Sun and the reduced hours of sunlight have definitely had an impact on this one but the insane early frosting on this one is still very promising. The low temperatures and lack of sunlight have reduced all of my plants metabolic rate and as a result I'm barely watering them nowadays.
Day 58, minor update, very little progress in the last 10 days. Weather is great but no matter how sunny it is there are not enough hours in the day for it to make much change but as long as the temperatures permit it we will endure.
Mistakes early on in the plant's life (planted out of season, not enough sun early on) kept it from growing to its full potential during the vegetative stage and hurt yields and quality. The smoke itself is not bad though, smells like pineapple mixed with rosemary with a decent lasting high.
You learn from your mistakes every day and growing this one taught me that if you don't give them enough of the right kind of attention early on you'll end up paying for it during harvest.
