SKIDR0W This is a highly potent, high-yielding Afghani strain with a touch of Sativa and a strong Purple tendency. The Purple Bud can be easily grown indoors, even by beginners. However, it also thrives outdoors when grown in a temperate climate during spring and summer.
The Purple Bud has been bred from some of the most important cannabis gene pools in the world. Its parents and ancestors can be traced directly back to the legendary Indica cultivars of the Hindu Kush region in Afghanistan, as well as to the medical marijuana scene in California and, of course, to the European epicenter of cannabis cultivation, the Netherlands.
Two pure Afghanica cultivars had a significant influence on the Purple Bud and are the source of its high potency, early flowering, dense buds, and solid growth of this hybrid strain. The somewhat more distant Sativa ancestor is a rare strain from Jamaica, which gives the Purple Bud a bit more height and greater high potential that wonderfully complements the body-centric Indica stoned effect. In the final phase of breeding our feminized Purple Bud, we crossed this 75 percent Afghani strain with an amazing Kush hybrid from the Hindu Kush bred in the Netherlands and a Purple Kush from the USA.
The purple coloring of the Purple Bud is most commonly seen on its flowers, not just on the leaves (as is often the case with cannabis strains that have a weaker Purple tendency). Since its leaves are often variably colored, it is not unusual to see the Purple Bud in the final phase of growth with green leaves, against which its deep purple buds stand out even more. The Purple Bud does not require a cold phase to bring about the color change and often turns purple even at normal temperatures.
The buds of the mature plant are thick, firm, and pointed with great expansion. At harvest time, they cover most of the stem and branches. Their purple flower clusters are thickly coated with shiny resin droplets and have a strong pine-sandalwood aroma with sweet undertones.
