Bubblegum Auto from ILGM. Planted a germinated seed in a 5gal fabric pot, with 5% Coco Coir and 5% perlite and 90% FFOF. At the end of the first week, her first false leaves have come in.
This week, she was topped above the third node and then tied down after a few days of growth. No nutes yet. CalMag with every watering, since I'm using RO.
This week she was watered until runoff for the first time with CalMag. 6.5ph in, 5.8 out. 215ppm in 2470 out. FFOF is really hot. I flushed her with an additional gallon of water 7.0ph and it got her ph up to 6.1. I topped her a second time this week as well.
This week she got her third topping and second tie-down. Watering with CalMag. Ph in has been 7, runoff below 6. I battled this with her sister plants, so I may mix in some lime to bring the ph up. Had major nute lockout issues with the other plants due to this. The soil is still hot, runoff still above 2,000ppm.
I let her grow a bit above the third topping before I tied her down for the last time and it made a huge difference in really spreading her out. The pot still has some water in it, so she wasn't watered this week. I'm going to top dress her with a tbls of lime before her next watering to see if I can raise the ph of the soil. I had huge issues with her two sisters Gorilla Glue and Tangerine Dream. By the time I realized the ph issues resulted in nute lock out, it was too late. Not going to let it happen again.
Watered her with CalMag. 6.8ph in, 6.3 out. 165ppm in, 1910 out. 0.3 EC in, 3.8 out. I did top dress her with 1tsp of lime to bring ph up. Had major issues with the last grow. She's reacted well to the main lining and is really stretching out beyond the pot. Just started flower this week.
Did get a little yellowing of the bottom leaves due to early low ph runoff. Have been top dressing with a bit of lime to raise ph and she seems to be reacting well. I fed her for the first time with some Jacks 20-10-20 fert. 1/2 dose to start.
CalMag, 1/2 dose of Jacks. 6.8ph in, 6.3 out. 728ppm in, 1743 out. Soil still has plenty of nutes so I don't want to over do it. She's drinking twice a week so all is good so far. She's starting to stretch.
Even though I top dressed her with some lime to bring her ph up in the low 6 range, I'm seeing the begining of magnesium deficiency, similar to the last run. At her last feed, the ppm was through the roof. I immediately flushed her and gave her a light feed. We'll see how she does. Looks like the yellowing has stopped progressing up the plant. I should have mixed in dolomite lime when I potted the soil to buffer the ph. Hopefully, I addressed this soon enough. Moving on to the Bugbee mix for the next run.
She has spent this week recovering from a ph issue and magnesium deficiency. The yellowing has stopped, but she is still more lime green than dark green, although the sugar leaves look fine. Pistils everywhere and connecting at main bud sites. I have been top dressing with some dolomitic lime to help buffer the PH. I've been watering with 7.0ph water and the runoff has been in the low 6 range, which is better than where the ph was a couple weeks ago. I've been including some Jack's in the water along with CalMag. Looking good.
She's stabilized from the magnesium deficiency resulting from low ph. I continue to give her a little dolomitic lime top dressed when feeding. I've also increased the amount of Jack's to full dose. During the last feed - 7.0ph in, 6.5 out. 852ppm in, 1392 out. 1.7EC in, 2.8 out. Pistils are starting to change color a bit and I'm seeing trichomes developing on the sugar leaves. So far so good.
The pistils are crazy and gives her a very frosty appearance in the pictures take with a flash. Trichomes are continuing to come in. She looks good and the smell is starting to change from skunky to sweet. Fed her twice this week. No ph issues now that we addressed the low ph with lime. She looks good. I'm in no rush.
This week she was fed twice with CalMag and Jack's 20-10-20. Her ph has been stable and within range, so no more deficiencies. Her buds are really growing in very dense and starting to swell. She running long due to the issues early on, but I'm in no hurry.
Week 13: Just a waiting game at this point. Colas continue to put on weight and are extremely dense. There are already signs of amber trichomes. I've fed her twice this week with molasses and CalMag. I'm going to give it one more week. I'll be give water only at this point. The trichomes are 90% cloudy so I could chop her now, but I'll be patient.
Week 14: Harvest week! On day 94, I flipped her into darkness for 48hrs. I've never done this but figured I'd give it a shot. I chopped her on day 96 from seed. Super dense buds, even the lower ones. Mainlining was really successful on this run, by far my best grow, even with the ph induced magnesium deficiency half way through the grow. I didn't weigh the buds because of how much stem I kept, but if I had to guess I'd say 8 to 10 oz. I'm curious of the post dry/trim yield. Stay tuned.
Easy grow with good yields, 4oz off of one plant. She took mainlining very well and I highly recommend this technique. I had 4oz of quality dense nugs and only 1/2oz of additional smokeable larf. No real bubble gum aromas (slight), but that's probably on me as a grower. She was a little sensitive to ph fluctuations, but again, that's on me. Will run this again for sure.
This run was relatively easy, with the exception of the ph issues early on that resulted in a magnesium deficiency. Once corrected, everything was fine. I was very happy with the size and density of the bud structure. The total yield was 4 ounces off of one plant with another 1/2 ounce of larf. I just finished trimming last night, so the total dry time was 11 days. I tasted a bit last night and it was surprisingly smooth, with a sweet citrus flavor. The high was "old school" stoney with a very relaxed slight couch locked feeling, but you can still carry on conversation. It definitely helps with insomnia, slept well last night. This plant had a slight bubble gum aroma late in flower, but that's about it. I didn't taste any in the smoke. Overall, very happy with the grow and I'll run this again for sure.
