This is my first grow!
I will be growing Growers Choice Seeds Acapulco Gold that I got from a friend.
I am starting the seeds in 4 in. square pots filled with Fox Farm Ocean Forest Soil.
I placed the pots into a super sprouter with a heating pad, a 7 inch humidity dome, and a tray insert.
Only two of the three seeds I planted sprouted.
The lights will be on for 18 on/ 6 off.
I removed the plants from the super sprouter
Installed a 2ft by 4 bulb t5 light and hung it about 12 inches from the tops of the plants.
I also installed a Vivosun clip on oscillating fan and set it to low and hung it high above the plants to give them just a gentle breeze
I have only watered the plants once since planting and I am using just plain tap water.
I have noticed some leaf curling but I’m just going to let them grow
I am now running the vent fan 18 hrs while the lights are on.
The third plant from the left is behind the other two plants. It is very weak and will probably not be moved into flower.
Started watering every other day with about a cup or two of water each. I’m still using plain tap water at 240 ppm.
I will be topping the plants at the fourth node when the time comes.
I started out the seeds in Fox Farm Ocean Forrest soil and after three weeks the run off from watering has finally dropped to below 400 parts per million.
The leaves of the plants are starting to curl to the side. Looks like a cal-mag deficiency.
Fed plants with the General Hydroponics Flora Series and Botanicare Cal-Mag plus @ 750 ppm with ph 6.2
Moved plants to my 3x3 tent and switched from my 100 watt fluorescent to the 315 cmh. I am running the light at 60% power and hung it at 2 ft from the top of the canopy.
The Botanicare Cal-Mag plus seemed to work and all the new growth looks normal.
I need to get some better lighting to take pics with.
Transplanted all three plants into 3 gal Vivosun fabric pots. I filled the pots with Fox Farm Ocean Forest Soil and between the 3 pots it took almost the whole bag.
I will not be using any nutrients for at least a couple of weeks unless it seems needed.
I am now running my light at 100% power and the plants seemed to be just fine.
I plan to switch the lights to flower next week.
Started the 12 on 12 off light cycle to induce flower.
Gave the plants a good trimming and installed a trellis net
New growth still looks very good and I will not be using fertilizer for another week.
Wow my plants are really big
Plants seem to be very healthy. They are drinking a lot of water now
I am feeding the plants ever other watering and the ppm is staying around 1000
I will probably do a bit more trimming this week or next
Lots of growth over the past few weeks.
I think the plants have finally stopped stretching and I could have done a better job training the plants with the trellis net. Two of my plants are small and don’t use as many nutrients or water than the larger plant. It has been a lot of work to keep them all healthy.
The smaller plants stems seemed a bit weak so I added more Armor Si to the nutrient solution. I will not be adding any more Armor Si to the solution after this because I read somewhere that the silica will not flush out from the flower buds.
Flowers have started to really fatten up on all the plants and the smell is getting better everyday.
Wow the buds are swelling up big time.
The smell is incredible as well.
There has been quite a bit of yellow leaves in the last week so I added a bit more Flora Grow to the mix. I will not be adding any more nitrogen after this as the plant is only a few weeks away from being harvested.
Not much else going on and I can’t wait to smoke this.
12/22
The plants are looking and smelling good.
The plants look about ready to harvest but I am going to wait at least another week or two.
I have not fed them and the ppm is still around 600. I will continue to just use plain water.
I am not sure if my plants are ready yet. The white hairs are still white and the trichrome heads still look mostly clear. Can anyone give me some advice?
You got 4-6 weeks left. Acapulco Gold is almost entirely sativa which gives you a 10-14 week span in flowering. Your hairs will be almost completely red before harvest.
