Grow Start Day - Sept. 24th, 2020 Week 1 - 09/24 - 9/30 Day 1 - Started germinating two seeds in wet paper towel. Stored in a dark closet for two days. Day 2 - One seed is sprouting much stronger (Plant #1 - P1) at 1" vs 3/8" of the other (Plant #2 - P2). Planted in wet Jiffy Pods. Placed in tent under low power 60w desk grow lamp - roughly 9" away from pods. I have a 5-gallon bucket I filled with tap water which is naturally at a PH of 6.5 & 175 PPM. There is an air pump with two air stones running continuously. This bucket will be replenished throughout the grow as it will be the main source of where my plants water will come from. Day 3 - P1 is really showing how hungry it is. Popped up overnight and awoke to already poking out of the jiffy pod. Watering with a 30mL syringe on average, 15mL per plant twice to three times a day. Day 4 - P1 now a full 1" and noticed a small root popping out of the jiffy pod side around 1/3 up from the bottom. P2 is popping up! Continuing the same water schedule. I removed the drip tray dome to let the tent fans hit the stocks. The plants are dancing around very happy like back and forth. Day 5 - P1 now at 2" and showing slight signs of stretching. Put a small garden wire support to prevent tipping before it happens. Day 6 - P2 is starting to show its first set of first true leaves as they emerge from the middle of the cotyledons. Day 7 - My inline fan and carbon filter has arrived!! Time to hook up the real grow light and dial back the wattage. Using a QSSI 240W GL73C3 Grow light. P2 is showing some good true leaf growth. Mixed up my grow medium which happens to be coco. Doing a 70/30 mixture of coco/perlite along with some dry amendments from Down to Earth. Starting everything out with their Vegetable Garden 4-4-4 blend @ 2tbsp per gallon. Ended up mixing up 2 gallons worth of medium. Picked up everything from a local hydroponics shop I found a few minutes away from the house. Super convenient!!

After my first transplant, I saturated the grow medium and did a PH test on the runoff. I'm watering with un-PH'd aerated tap water which is naturally at 6.5. The runoff water is coming in at 5.5. Should I alter the PH I'm watering with so the runoff meets my PH target?

No I wouldn't bother at this stage Tbh. Just keep feeding at the correct PH and the soil will eventually level.out around the same . If you ever find your pH run off massively out later on in veg or flower . Just feed extra volume of water/nutes until you have the correct run off PH . There's no point oversaturating the soil at this stage as seedlings really don't need much water .

Week 2: 10/01 - 10/07 Day 8 - Misted the surrounding soil around 10am and then saturated the soil with 60 mL of 6.5 pH water around 12 hours later. Switching the lights over to their first night of 18/6 now that they've had a full day since their first transplant. Day 9 - WOW! The first dark period did wonders and the true leaves on both plants are starting to show some real growth above the cotyledons. You can see the next set starting to poke out of P1. Same watering schedule as before. I'm thinking by the end of this week, I'll remove the misting and stick with a single watering. Still under the small lamp... I was so excited for the inline fan to arrive that I didn't realize I never bought the actual ductting. Set to arrive tomorrow. Day 10 - Time to get this tent complete! Everything was installed without a hitch.. Yeah. Totally didn't waste 45 minutes trying to force the 6" duct over the larger carbon filter flange before realizing it slips over the fan. Something is acting up with my unit unfortunately. The fan won't power on when I plug in the control panel. Unplug the panel and it starts right up. Oh well. Better to have the fan running than the tent get into the 90s!!!! Also tried my recently purchased dimmer switch. Doesn't work -.- it only makes the light start flickering instead of dimming. Both the light and driver claim this baby can dim 10-100% so it must be the cheap dimmer I got. That'll teach me for skimping. To combat the extra heat from running at the full 240w, I have the light raised as far up as I can. I belive its around 36" above the girls. Same watering schedule. P2 must be taking roots well in the cell pot. She's almost matching P1 in growth. Excited to see what I'll wake up to tomorrow! Day 11 - I might need to look into a small AC unit. Temps got up to 84 today inside the tent. I closed up some of the air flaps at the bottom which created the negative pressure inside the tent I didn't have before. Within an hour, temp fell to 81. I'll have to monitor it closely tomorrow to see if it drops into the 70s. Continued the same water schedule. Day 12 - Added some additional coco to the top of each pot. The netting from the jiffy pods was starting to poke through the top after a few days of watering. I really only needed to add it to P2 but I topped off P1 to make them even again in height. Continued the same water schedule. Day 13 - I noticed the fan leaves were drooping just a tad last night so I decided to end the misting a little early. Only watered 45mL to each plant. I'll see if I need to up it back to the original 60mL, sans misting, in a few days. Day 14 - Noticed the Coco was dry on outskirts of the pot but the middle was still a bit damp around 11am. Gave each of them the original 60mL. Today was overly warm outside and my tent is up against an outside wall (Small house, every room has an exterior wall) and with the furnace on, I ended up opening up the tent for the day as temps got to 84 before I noticed. Once I kept the tent flap open to manage the excess heat, it went back down to 79. Weekly thoughts: loving the growth P2 has shown to catch up. P1 is only slightly in the lead still but I think her days are numbered before they'll be competing for top plant. P2 is showing a very weird kink in the fan leaves that is continuing onto the next set. My wife has since dubbed her Nemo. It's odd and has been present since it first sprouted. One fan lead has a kink, the other is normal. Now that the 1st set of 3 leaves is coming in, it's showing the same thing. One set has a kink and the other set is fine. I think it's genetics and nothing to do with any kind of deficiency. Both plants are being grown under identical conditions and P1 is growing perfectly. It's hard to get a good picture of it with my old phone but I'll keep trying to get something clearer as she grows.

Week 3: 10/08 - 10/14 Day 15 - Temps still a little warm inside the tent. I'll definitely need an AC unit for my grow for the next Spring/Summer season. I think these warm days will pass us soon enough and the temps will go back down. The humidity within the tent reached 30% last night so I've been misting the inside of the tent every hour or two which has kept it around 40-45%. With the increased temps, both plants looked a little dry so I saturated the soil enough to get a pH test from the runoff. Reading at 6.0 which is up from the initial 5.5 at the day of transplant. I think after another week, my runoff will be closer to the pH going in. Both plants are now starting to show signs of twisting leaves. I'll keep an eye on it over the next few days and get better pictures. Day 16 - Went to the zoo today and closed the door to the grow room absentmindedly.. I don't have the inline fan venting outside so it's just exhausting the tent into the room. Came home to 90 degrees inside the tent. Fun! Watered a little more to account for the additional heat. Each girl got 75mL. Day 17 - Kept the tent doors open today while the lights were on and it remained an steady 79 the entire day. 100% going to need a small AC unit. I have to figure out what to do as venting out a window isn't feasible (also why my inline fan is just venting back into my room as indicated above) in my grow location. I've been reading up on my leaf twisting issue and I believe it might have been self induced by placed my clip fan too low and in direct line of the plants. I moved it up 12" to help circulate the air above the "canopy" instead of directly on them. Hoping to see the fan leaves go back to normal within a few days. If not, time to keep reading up on what this could be. Day 18 - I think moving the tent fans up yesterday really helped. The twisted leaves are starting to flatten back down to normal. Continued 60mL watering schedule. The coco seemed a little bit more dry today than normal during this time of day. I'll probably have to start increasing the normal watering schedule sometime later in the week. Day 19 - Continued the normal watering schedule. Forgot to take pictures.. Day 20 - Continued the normal watering schedule. I can see some roots on the bottom of the cell pods! Trying to decide when it's best to transplant them into their 1 gal pots. P2 is keeping true to her name. Nemo has an odd leaf. Day 21 - Transplant day!! I hope I didn't mess anything up. I had previously mixed up what I had thought was enough coco for the first transplant to cover this day but I ran out before I was even done finishing up the first pot! Mixed up another gallon and a half of Coco-70%/Perlite-30%/4-4-4 fertilizer-2 tbsp/gal. I sprinkled 1 tbsp of mycorrhizal powder at the bottom of the transplant pot and along the outside of the root structure. Once in the tent, I saturated the medium with two good waterings over the course of an hour. Had to readjust my light to maintain the same distance as before now that I've rearranged the tent for the 1 gal pots. Weekly thoughts: After rearranging the pictures to be in sequential order by day & camera angles, it's amazing to see how fast these girls are growing. I find myself flipping through the gallery to see the day-by-day progress more often than I should admit. I'm going to need to tackle this dimming switch sooner than later. I'll eventually need to get this light closer to the plants but at a much lower wattage. Right now it's at 240W @ 33" above the girls. I can't keep this light at the highest point the entire grow or I'll have major heat and light burn issues while they're flowering. I'm excited to see these two take off now that they're in their bigger pots. Only 1 more transplant to go which will be to their final 3 gallon pots.

Week 4: 10/15 - 10/21 Day 22 - Both plants look to be going strong after the first night! I'll be giving both a good soak later today. These fabric pots mixed with the coco dry out the medium much quicker than the tiny starter cell pots! Day 23 - Gave each around 3/4 of my 1L spray bottle. Still looking good! I noticed that P2 is continuing the trend. Each node so far, there has been a gimp leaf. Every other leaf on these nodes are perfectly fine. I'm chalking it up to genetics for the time being. Day 24 - I lowered the light from 36" to 24" from the canopy. Monitoring the temperature within the tent to make sure it doesn't increase too much. So far running at a steady 81. The outskirts of the coco was dry while the inside was just a tad damp. Watered .5L each. I'm trying to dial in the right amount of water for this stage now that I'm out of the cell pots. I think .5L a day should be good for now. Day 25 - Gave each .5L water. I think I've been watering them too late in the day.. over the next two weeks, I'm going to start moving the watering schedule up an hour or two each day until I'm able to water when I wake up. Day 26 - Tested the pH of the runoff after watering both girls today... 6.5pH!! Perfect! Both are showing great growth throughout each node. I really did not expect it to be this far along this quickly into transplanting to the 1 gal. In a few days once the 6th node is developed, I'm going to top and start some LST. P2 looks to be around 2 days behind P1 so it all depends on when P2 is ready. I'm thinking the topping should even them out in development but that's just speculation. P1 is measuring in at 4.5" and P2 is 3.75". I noticed P2 was leaning a little bit more towards the middle of the light and moved the tent around a bit to give an equal distribution of light. Hope to see her even out over the next few days. Day 27 - Gave each .5L around 5pm as I'm slowly working up their watering schedule to earlier in the day. I think it might be too much water too soon. Even after 5 hours, the leaf tips on the top node are drooping down. I might have to move it up every other day instead. Day 28 -

Week 5: 10/22 - 10/28 Day 29 - Mainlining day! Topped both to the 4th node which helped even out the growth between the two. I withheld watering the previous day so I could get them bright and early in the morning when the lights kicked on. Gave each .45L in the morning and another .45L after the topping. I waited a few hours and neither were showing any signs of shock so I decided to cut away the lower growth. I'll begin the tie-down in a day or two once these new nodes begin to show progress. Day 30 - Started LST on the two fan leaves. Watered each girl .45L water in the morning. Day 31 - The new tops are coming in great! At this rate, I'll be applying more LST in a few days. Continued .45mL watering schedule. The local hydro store had a seed sale from Mosca Seeds today. Picked up six different autoflower strains and I'll get a few of those started tomorrow!! Day 32 - I woke up to the new growth looking a little thirsty. Gave them both .40mL in the AM and another .20mL in the PM. Got some runoff on the 2nd watering and it looks to still be set at 6.5. I have found a problem in the tent. I can no longer have the water reservoir inside the tent... I found the beginning stages of algae growing in the bottom of my bucket which is starting to form on my air stones and inside their tubes. Time to remove it ASAP!! The new nodes looked to bounce back really well after the 1st watering of the day. They continue to double in size day after day which is fantastic to see. Especially after cutting them all up... Day 33 - So yesterday was too much water. The entire pot is still wet at the end of the day. I lowered the inline fan speed to help bring the temps up inside the tent a few degrees. Looks like I'll be watering first thing tomorrow morning. I changed out my tie downs for the lower fan leaves and tied down the new growth. By the end of the day, they already recovered and corrected their positioning towards the light. When I sent pics to my lovely wife, she responded with "Woooo! Full bondage!" Day 34 - Oh yeah.. transplanting first thing tomorrow morning after their water. The root development at the bottom of these bags is great! I can't wait to cut them open to see what the root structure looks like. Upon close inspection this morning.. it does appear that 3 out of the 4 tied down nodes are splitting at the top of the bend. The nodes are starting to show signs of engorging which is great. I don't want to play with it at all.. just going to let her do her thing and heal on up. It's interesting to see the new growth development difference between the one node that's good and the other three. Planted two autoflowers from Mosca Seeds today - Frosted Watermelon and Blue Hindu. I'll be making another journal to track their progress. Day 35 - Transplant day!! Mixed up more coco/perlite along with more of the Down the Earth All Purpose 4-6-2 fertilizer. I placed 1 gal of coco on the bottom of each pot and then seated each girl in their new final home on top of 1 tbsp of Xtreme Gardening Mykos Pure mycorrhizal with another 1 tbsp sprinkled around the outer side of the roots. After everything is said and done.. I need to get better at making sure the plant is centered. My god am I off center on P1. I'll be adding some tie downs later tonight to assist in pulling each stalk more straight in the needed direction. It's been a few hours and they're both looking really good. No drooping! After 48h, I'm going to tie each branch down again to continue the mainlining process. Maybe I should have done it right away but I want to avoid any additional shock. I ended up with an extra 1 gal of coco so I decided to use it on another autoflower experiment and added it to the current autoflower journal. Weekly thoughts: Wow this week went fast and it's great looking back on the development and growth throughout the week. It's amazing to see how quickly these plants grow. I'm not surprised I might have split 3 of 4 nodes from my initial LST. Rookie mistake especially when diving into something as advanced as mainlining on your first grow! I'll be topping again soon to start my next set of nodes. I see the new growth around the main nub and there are 4 little sprouts on each plant looking to shoot upwards. Part of me wants to let them go and LST them into more colas but I know the smarter option would be to pluck away.. At the end of the day all they're doing is sucking up nutrients my main colas should be getting.

How long should I wait before transplanting both girls to their final 3 gal pots. I just topped and began the steps for mainlining 3 days ago and don't want too much stress on them. How long should I let them recover before transplanting?

Meech, I normally wait at least a week after giving any stress on the plant to stress it again. A week is good because it helps you keep track of the way your plant is reacting to the changes you are giving it.

Tonight I discovered the beginning stages of algae growing at the bottom of the water bucket I kept within the tent. As far as I know, the bucket was clean around a week ago when I filled it up last. With both plants getting this water for a few days, should I be concerned?

If algae is growing inside your bucket/reservoir then it’s being exposed to too much light. If you take it outside of the tent this problem should be eradicated. It may not hurt the plants but algae can compete for nutrients inside of a container plant. Nothing too crazy to worry about though!

Week 6: 10/29 - 11/04 Day 36 - They were both responding well to the transplant. The pots were dry this morning so I re-saturated the coco with 2L each and got a lot of runoff. I'll have to figure out what's the right amount of water these 3 gal pots require without runoff. I'm going to stick with 1L tomorrow morning and see how dry it is in the evening. I might have to start watering twice a day. With both girls looking happy, I decided it was the perfect time to get back into their bondage. I added an additional tie on each pot in order to correct my poor transplant job. They are now standing up straight after a little assistance! I also added in a raised drip tray. This will really assist me when I do have runoff without having the bag sitting in stale water. After a few hours I can see the new nodes already responding well to the LST and correcting their leaf placements. I think I'll be topping again by the end of next week or the very start of week 7. Over the week, I'm going to be tightening the ties to bring the branches closer to that 180 degree mark. I don't want to go too fast and snap anything. Day 37 - Still trying to dial in how much water I should be giving these girls. Only cut the water down to 1.5L each today as I thought the pot could take it. With these dry amendments, I don't want any and I've had runoff the past two days. I'm for sure giving 1L a try tomorrow. Very good response to yesterday's training. Day 38 - Woke up to some calcium deficiency spots. So far only affecting P1. After looking this issue over online, it also appears I have a magnesium deficiency on top of it. I read a little about needing to add CalMag sometime throughout the grow. I believe I'll need to get some Dolomite Lime and will need to top dress some into each pot. If P1 is showing signs, P2 has typically been a few days behind. It's only a matter of time before P2 starts showing the same signs. Lowered the water to 1L and there's still the smallest amount of runoff. Getting closer! I think .75L is going to be the winner. Day 39 - Watered .75L and got no runoff! Found the magic number! Spent today doing some research and I'm going to buy some Dolomite Lime tomorrow to help the CalMag issue. Maybe it's a mistake to not buy CALiMAGic but I want to keep this organic. I'm only going to top dress 1 tbsp/gal so each girl is getting 3 tbsp. I'll prob hold off tomorrow as the hydro store doesn't open till 11 and I water earlier in the morning than that. I could hold off but don't want to throw off their schedule. Top dressing will take place on Day 41. Each branch is getting really crowded even with training. They're both starting their 5th node and have enough stalk to leave a proper stump. Looks like I'll be topping first thing in the morning! Day 40 - Each girl got their 2nd topping and I removed their lower growth while I was at it. Watered .75L right after all the cutting was done. Now it's time to get back under the light for some much needed recovery. 12PM update -- Both are looking to have recovered from the chop! Leaves have perked back up and each set is back to taking in the light. Time to get their straps a bit more situated! Day 41 - Watered .75 L in the morning. New growth after topping looks really good! After a lot of looking online, I think the deficiencies I'm seeing is just from the original amendments running out it's course. Since I amended the new coco when I transplanted, the new roots will get plenty of food as it fills the pot. I need to figure out what day I'm going to re-amend each pot. I might do a reduced amendment to target the original 1 gal of medium. Day 42 - Watered .75 L in the morning and the new growth still looks really good!

When using dry amendments, does the amendment schedule reset when you transplant with newly amended coco? I transplanted from 1g to 3g and the newly added 2g of coco was amended with the proper ratio of amendments. Do I only amend for the missing 1g from the "old" coco?

I amend my soil also and top dress about 3-4 weeks after transplant. You should be fine doing the same, maybe a little sooner if she’s a heavy feeder.

Week 7: 11/05 - 11/11 Day 43 - Continued .75 L watering schedule. I see roots poking through the bottom of these fabric pots! I'm sooo happy to see them penetrating the newly amended coco! I was going to top dress this morning but after seeing this, I think I'm going to hold off for another week or two. Then instead of amending for 1 gal, I'll do the entire pot and amend for 3 gal. Further tied these girls down to define the mainline structure. The four new nodes looks really good. I might top as quick as 2-3 days. I honestly could top tomorrow at this rate but I want to leave a solid knub. Day 44 - Continued .75 L watering schedule. P2 is still a day or two behind in node growth. Looks like I won't be topping tomorrow if I want to retain a decent knub. Day 45 - Continued .75 L watering schedule. P2 looks ready but it's too late in the day. I'm topping first thing in the morning! I'm ready to let her veg for a few more weeks before swapping. Day 46 - Whelp... I got impatient on my last node. I gave each their final topping and while I was bending down the last node... SNAP. :'''''( My wife helped tape her back up but the split happened right under the joint. She's tapped up and there's a piece of floral wire below that's propping her up to take the weight off the split. We'll see in two weeks if that node will recover at all. Day 47 - Clipped the bum node on P2. The leaves were getting crispy dry. There wasn't any saving her :( - I only watered P1 this morning. P2 had a ton of runoff yesterday after her watering so I skipped her today. I'll resume both watering tomorrow morning. Both girls were showing signs of heat stress. Their fan leaves were starting to cup on the edges so I had my tent open all day. We're getting to the end of a fall heatwave. Should be back to normal in a few days. Ended up raising the light again to accomodate my autos. I have a strain that does not like this heat. The light will most likely lower again once the temps get back to normal. Day 48 - Only watered P1 as P2 was still saturated somehow. Didn't get any pictures. Day 49 - After asking around, I want to get an EC reading from a slurry test just to make sure everything is good with both girls. I didn't water either as to make sure the medium is more dry when I gather enough coco for the test. That'll be first thing tomorrow morning I'm guessing. The growth around the new nodes has been really bushy. I have been trying to tuck the fan leaves under but they keep bouncing back up.. So I tried getting them tied down just a bit.. well.. one of the fan leaves snapped but not enough to fall off. I propped it up with some garden wire and I'm hoping it'll just grow a knuckle. At the end of the day, I'm going to be clipping it anyways but I don't want to stress her anymore than I have already. I've noticed the stock around the original topping joint is starting to get some purple hues. I'll have to keep an eye out for that as well as time goes on.

Week 8: 11/12 - 11/18 Day 50 - Woke up this morning to do a slurry test of my medium and it was still a tad bit too wet for my tastes. Held off watering this morning on both girls. Tomorrow is the day for sure. Did some tucking after taking this round of pictures to let the new nodes get better light. It's starting to get really crowded with all that growth concentrated in small areas. I think I'll be adding a small humidifier to the tent to bump up the RH by 10-15%. It's not needed but I've been told ~45-50% is ok but could be higher. I'll have to rearrange the tent a bit to make room. Day 51 - Both girls were dry enough to do my slurry test. Base PPM is reading 151. P1 is coming in at 164 and P2 is coming in at 170. I didn't have enough dechlorinated water on hand to get enough runoff with how dry the medium is on hand. Boiled some water and it's cooling down now. Once it's room temp, I'll be flushing each pot to saturate the medium at the correct pH. I'll be getting the PPM of each runoff at that time as well. - PM Update - Runoff PPMs are a little odd. P1 is almost double than P2. P1 runoff = 1194 | P2 runoff = 620... Time to start reading up on what to do. Finally got my new bucket with new airstones. Hoping to not get any algae in this one. Day 52 - Watered P2 normally this morning at .75 L but I flushed around 2.5 L into P1 to bring her EC down in line with P2. They're now within 50 PPM of each other which I think is acceptable. P1 runoff EC = 0.886 | P2 runoff EC = 0.782 | Base water EC = 0.28 | I'm thinking of defoliating the large fan leaves as it's getting crowded. The new growth is starting to get twisted as it's looking for the light. I've tried all I can to tuck the leaves but they keep coming back to cover. The last time I tried getting them tied down, I ended up splitting one of them. I should have kept them trained for better horizontal growth throughout this grow. Lessons learned for next time! They getting clipped instead. - PM update - Defoliation complete and these girls are tied down to hold a better structure. I'm going to re-adjust the some of the straps tomorrow. I didn't want to push either girl too hard tonight. Day 53 - Watered both with .75 L and got the tiniest amount of runoff. A little bit more from P1 which is understandable considering she got the flush yesterday. I'm going to top dress tomorrow morning with a fresh batch of amendments. Day 54 - Top dressed each pot with 4 tbsp of 4-6-2 DTE. They recommend 1-2 tbsp per gallon. This worked out to 1.3 tbsp/gal. Before top dressing each pot, I did some additional training. Pulled each node down a tad more and incorporated some garden wire to push the lower fan leaves down while encouraging the new growth to face upwards. Next top dress will be a mixture of veg/bloom dry amendments which will be around middle to end of December so they're ready to flip to flower. PM update - After looking at these pictures, I can see a little discoloration in the leaves and a bit of burn on the tips. I wonder if I waited too long before I top dressed. I'll look into it in the morning. Day 55 - I wanted to see if I could up each of them to 1 L without run off but got the smallest amount from P2 with a little bit more from P1. I'll prob only give P1 .5 L tomorrow to have them even back out in moisture levels. I'm noticing some burn on the tips. Maybe I amended too early? Day 56 - Gave P1 only .5 L this morning while P2 got her normal .75 L - no more runoff! Did some tucking throughout the day as the lower leaves try to work their way up above the new growth. I'm wondering if I should trim those leaves so the new growth gets all the light.

Week 9: 11/19 - 11/25 Day 57 - Watered each their normal .75 L with no runoff. Did some light defoliation and re-tied down the nodes to get more light on the new growth. I noticed I'm no longer getting symmetrical growth. I shouldn't need to tie her down again. Only vertical growth from here! I think I'll swap to flower once she's grown a few inches above the current canopy height. Day 58 - Watered each their normal .75 L schedule. Did some light tucking on the larger fan leaves. The largest leaves are now around the same size of those I just clipped yesterday! Day 59 - Watered each their normal .75 L schedule and did some light tucking. Day 60 - Watered each their normal .75 L schedule. Wanted to defoliate as they're both getting rather bushy again but decided against it. The lower canopy growth on the main stems are starting to stretch for light so I went for more tucking instead. Day 61 - Watered each their normal .75 L schedule and ended up doing the defoliate anyways. Day 62 - Watered each their normal .75 L schedule. Both girls are recovering great from the defoliation. Day 63 - Watered each their normal amount. Did some light tucking but overall just let her be.

Week 10: 11/26 - 12/02 Day 64 - the tops of each pot were really dry this morning and it dawned on me. I previously moved the one clip fan down to assist with circulating the air better below the canopy. I saturated each with 2 L and got runoff. The bottom of these pots must be wet still for that kind or runoff. I might need to swap to twice a day for these girls so the top doesn't dry out this much again. Growth is starting to stretch upwards which is great. Day 65 - Saturated the pots with their normal .75 L but got heavy runoff from both. The humidity has been higher this week so it looks like I'll have to slow down their watering to accommodate. Day 66 - Skipped watering today. The pots were still fairly wet in PM. Day 67 - Gave normal water and still got heavy runoff. I think I'm going to hold water for two days now. Got a migraine so no pictures tonight =/ Day 68 - Held water but started to see the very first signs of white powdery mildew on a few leaves.. and... a few fungus gnats flying around. Maybe 5 at most right now. I put out the traps and caught a few of em. Ordered some Neem oil to help remedy the problem before it gets out of hand. Day 69 - 9AM - GAME TIME - Gave each girl a heavy defoliation to assist in better airflow. Rearranged the tent to add in a slim oscillating tower fan to get more circulation in the tent. I finally finished everything around 2PM. Neem Oil should be arriving today so I'll apply that right at lights out. Day 70 - Gave each a tad between .5 L and .75 L water today and didn't get any runoff. Both look to be responding really well to the defoliation. I ordered a trellis net tonight and it should get here on day 73.

Week 11: 12/03 - 12/09 Day 71 - Letting the pots air out a bit. No water today. Probably tomorrow morning. They're both looking like they fully recovered from the defoliation. She's filling out quickly after the defoliation. Day 72 - Well... I was going to water them this morning but the day got away from me. Looks like I'll be watering first thing in the morning. Trellis net arrived from amazon. I'll be installing it first thing in the morning before their watering. Day 73 - Installed the trellis net! I'll be adding a 2nd layer once they grow into it a bit more. Did as much tucking as I could. I'll do more probably at the end of the week to better fill out the squares. From here on out I won't be able to give accurate water measurements as I'm now using one of those pressurized pump sprayers to get under the net. I'm just eyeballing the water line on the side and they're getting around 1 L each. Day 74 - Watered and did some light tucking where I could. They both need to focus on growing so I can continue filling out the canopy nodes! Day 75 - Day 76 - Day 77 -

Week 12: 12/10 - 12/16 Day 78 - I skipped watering today and did some light tucking where I could. This trellis net I not the best fit holding anything in place. I'll definitely need to look for a better one on my next grow. They're looking a little hungry so I'll top dress first thing tomorrow morning. Day 79 - Top dressed 2 tbsp/gal this morning and saturated the pots with 2 L of water. There were definitely some roots within the top inch of coco that I tore up when top dressing. They're showing some slight drooping but I know they'll bounce back. Day 80 - Watered each with 1 L. The humidity in the tent is nearing 65% in the morning when I wake up from the 3 autos I have in flower. I'll need to get a dehumidifier situated sometime soon. They both look to be bouncing back and I suspect they'll be back to 100% by tomorrow. Day 81 - Day 82 - Day 83 - Day 84 -

Week 17: 01/14 - 01/20 Day 113 - Held off on watering today. Getting back into updating this grow diary after the holidays. They ended up taking too much of my time to keep up with the updates. Day 114 - Lollipopped both of them in order to get ready for the big flip to flower on the 25th. Watered each with 1 L. Day 115 - Watered each with 1 L. Day 116 - Watered each with 1 L. Went out and bought the 5 gallon pots needed for tomorrow's transplant. Going to give them a full week to recover into their final home. Got a different trellis netting with smaller squares. The Vivosun netting was too large for my tastes. Day 117 - Today was a busy day!! Final transplant into 5 gallon pots is complete, autos moved into the 2nd tent to be harvested in a few days, swapped out the trellis netting for a smaller 3.5 sq size and added a 2nd layer! I cleaned the tent while the girls were out. Gave them each 2 L of water but I think I'll be upping it to 3L each. Day 118 - Upped watering to 3L each and I'm still not sure if it was enough. No runoff which is great. I might try upping it each day until I find the proper amount of water without runoff. Day 119 - Kept with 3 L each today. Upping to 4 each tomorrow. Did some light tucking on the few nodes that were rising above the rest. I'm thinking I might have to add a 3rd layer to control the height as these stretch during flower.

Week 18: 01/21 - 01/27 Day 120 - Gave each girl 4 L of water this morning and I started getting the slowest of runoff trickles. We're talking annoying water drop in a sink slow. I think 3.5L might be my sweet spot. I'm going to run 3.5 for the next for days to try it out. Mixed up a bit more coco/perlite to top off each pot just a bit more. Did some tucking on P2 as there's one stubborn branch that's refusing to grow. She always finds herself in the shade. After this tucking, she has a prime spot within the scrog for direct light. Day 121 - Gave 3.5 L of water in the morning and later in the afternoon there was a good bit of runoff. Looks like I'm trying 3 L tomorrow. Continued with light tucking on the scrog. Day 122 - Gave 3 L of water in the morning and later in the afternoon there was still a good bit of runoff. I'm backing them down to 2 L tomorrow. Continued with light tucking on the scrog. Day 123 - 2 L to each plant and I have ZERO runoff! That's great timing as today I reset my light timer for 12/12! WE GOING INTO FLOWER!! I'll be mixing up a gallon of recharge and fish sh!t tomorrow and I'll be giving half of it to each plant. The new light schedule will be lights on from 3PM to 3AM to help with my daily usage within the same office they're being grown in. I don't want any light leaks messing with these two! Day 124 - I decided against the fish sh!t only due to my own limited knowledge of the product. Mixed up 1 gallon of water and recharge and split it 50/50 between the two. Day 125 - Back to straight water for the next week and see what recharge can do. 2L to each girl. Day 126 - Well I'm sold on recharge. The growth has been huge between the last two days. Looks like I'll be giving them another mix in 5 days. I'm seeing pistils all over P1 and just starting on the very tops of P2. She's always been a day or two behind P1 since the start. I'll have to consider this when it comes to harvest time. Sticking with 2L of water per plant giving each half of the pot with it's own liter. Both girls are starting to show a little bit of hunger so I amended the medium for 3 gallons worth (6 tbsp @ 2/gallon). Since I put in amendments for the new coco during the transplant, that was only for the new 2 gallons. After today, they'll have fully been amended for a full 5 gallons of coco! I'll be amending again around the end of week 3 of Feb.

Have each their 2 L and let them do their thing for the day. Day 129 - Gave each their 2 L of water. Day 130 - Gave each their 2 L of water. I'm thinking I should lift P2 up to the same height as P1. I'll probably do that tomorrow when I give them their 2nd dose of their new weekly Recharge schedule! Day 131 - Made up my 1 Gal of recharge @ 1 tsp/gallon. They seem to be doing well! Day 132 - I let the day get away from me and I didn't water today. Day 133 - They looked a little thirsty but perked right up when I gave them their 2 L each.

Week 20: 02/04 - 02/10 Day 134 - Gave each their 2 L. Yesterday was their last full day within their 48h mark after recharge and again.. they're B O O M I N! Soon I won't be able to do a canopy picture as I'll hit my light! Day 135 - Gave each a light defoliation. Any area that had a fan leaf blocking a node site got the snip. I'll be looking at them over the week as they recover from their haircut. 2 L of water each. Day 136 - So.. Already recovered! A few other leaves perked up and tried to take over the newly free real estate. They got the snip for even thinking they could. These ladies are resilient! 2 L of water each. Day 137 - Gave each their 2 L. Day 138 - Gave each their 2 L. Light defoliation on leaves that were blocking bud sites. I'm noticing almost no air getting at the back of the tent. Time to retrofit some more fans. Added one below the canopy and another above pointing downwards at P1 which is in the back (relative to the oscillating tower fan) of the tent. Day 139 - Gave each their 2 L. Even with the fans, there's still a lot of restricted airflow. Time to give them a good defoliation tomorrow to finish out W3. Day 140 - Gave each girl a major haircut and I didn't even have time to finish! Oh man did I ever overestimate how hard it would be defoliating the back side of the plant with a trellis net as a 6'2" man. I started around 30 minutes after lights on (3:30pm) and by 8:30pm, I still wasn't done... I was planning on watering both of them when I was done but when I realized that wasn't happening today, I gave them their 2 L each around 8PM. I'll finish them both first thing tomorrow afternoon once the lights go on again.

Day 147 - Gave each their 2 L. Still no signs of herm from too much stress. I'm still keeping an eye on them each day to make sure they stay female. I came home yesterday about an hour after lights were supposed to kick on to find my battery backup off. There must have been a power surge and it shut down to save my equipment. Protect your stuff!!! In that hour of my fans turning off, the rH shot up to 85% OH NO!! I opened the tent to let it escape into the lung room which quickly dropped it back down to the mid 50s.

They're both looking to have fully recovered from the heavy defol. I have to look into when to stop with the light defol during flower. This light isn't the best at penetrating the lower canopy so I might have to do some more clipping in the next few weeks. They both grow back just as bushy before the trim in about 2 weeks time. Tomorrow is recharge day. Need to look into when that stops as well. Day 152 - Mixed up their weekly recharge. Picking a few leaves each watering. Day 153 - Gave each their 2 L. Week 24: 03/04 - 03/10 Day 162 - I forgot to refill my reservoir so I picked up some RO water from the store. Gave each their 2 L. Light defol with each water still. Opening up more bud sites to light each day. Day 163 - Used another 2 L each of the RO water as I have it on hand. Refilled the reservoir so I'll go back to that tomorrow. Day 164 - Gave each their 2 L with 1 tsp of recharge. I started to see some burnt tips and checked the pH of the RO water.. I should have checked it beforehand as it's only 5.5 pH.. Going to hit them again with recharge on Monday to help rebalance the medium from the past two days. Lesson learned. Day 165 - Gave each their 2 L water. Day 166 - Gave each their 2 L with 1 tsp of recharge. Hoping the double dose corrects the coco pH. I don't have a medium pH reader to confirm anything though. Day 167 - Re-amended the coco only 22 days after the previous feed. They were starting to show signs of hunger so I probably should have amended sooner. Day 168 - Gave each their 2 L water.

I'm noticing some rusting happening on the edges of some fan leaves. Day 187 - Gave each their 2 L. Day 188 - Gave each their 2 L. The rusting is getting more intense and starting to pop up on P2 as well. After inquiring with a growing group, it turns out the burnt tips were from amending too soon. I should have waited the full 30 days. This is also causing a calmag lockout which in turn is causing the rusting. Day 189 - Gave each their 2 L.

Week 28: 04/01 - 04/07 Day 190 - Gave each their 2 L with a shot of SLF100 to help dial down the microbes in the coco. I'm chopping soon so I'm not sure if it'll help but it's worth a shot. Day 191 - Chopping day!!! Got a full tent hanging up. I started way too late in the day or I'd have wet trimmed while hanging. I'll hit them hard tomorrow! Day 192 - Over 8 hours later, I have the entire lower half of the tent trimmed and back up hanging to finish their drying. I'll have to get P2 tomorrow but with it being Easter, I won't be able to finish it all. Day 193 - Got a few branches of P2 trimmed but Easter took my attention away from finishing. Day 194 - finished up trimming. Now they need to finish drying so I can get a final weight. Day 195 - drying. Day 196 - drying.

The cure is done! This bud has a really nice relaxed high without the lethargic indica feeling. We often find ourselves giggling like idiots after a few bowls. The munchies is strong with this strain.
