Week 8 Day 50-56 Starting to see some serious bud development. Defoliating is becoming an almost daily event … these girls like to show their fan leaves. I did a major trim of the mystery plants … if anyone can figure out what they are I'd love to know. The mystery plants are super dense. Most of the upper leaves aren't the traditional 5 leaf phyllotaxy. They're very dark green and have only 1 to 3 leaves. There are some pictures at the end of the photos for the week. Looks like the grow will go 9 – 10 weeks based on bud development. Even the fan leaves are getting sticky. Overall, genetic mysteries not withstanding … I think this strain is going to be a winner.

1 strain could have a multiple number of phenotypes, it means there is lots of possible variations between the multiple breeds of plant it's been crossed with. Autos are specifically more prone to have multiple phenos (different variations) because they are crossed so many times often between 3 sub types of cannabis (sativa, indica and ruderelis) if you look at a wild ruderelis plant on Google you will be surprised to see the leaves look similar to the "mystery plant" The single bladed leaves can also come from the plant going back into its veg cycle. Have you changed cycle, or altered anything to do with the lights/lighting? I also feel your feeding too much N on the "mystery plant" specifically looks dark green. Your nutrients look to contain too much N for flower, only a little is needed during the start of flower they get what they need from the leaves. However I've found depending on the requirements it is good to feed an autoflower a little added N until they stop stretching. I think you have just fed a little to much. sorry for the long post, just thought I'd offer my opinion✌️🏻️

@PharmaZ, I did end up getting a replacement pack from the retailer. Mephisto was responsive and I have no issues growing their strains in the future.

@bosgrower, glad you got an answer from them, did they offer you anything? I had a problem with 2/4 Mephisto beans

@PharmaZ, Turns out Mephisto agrees they’re not AvT. No idea how it happened but t looks like a couple of 24 Carat seeds seem to have infiltrated the seed pack 🙂

how is the smell of the AVT? does a single carbon filter reduce the smell close to zero? thank you

@ashah074, The tent smelled great inside, and I had no problems with odor outside the tent ... that said, I use a 6" x 24" Phresh filter so it's a bit of overkill :)

Coming along nicely, Bos, Curious about those liners you are using inside your 5 gal pots. What are they used for, if you don't mind me asking?

@Mr_Positivo, I use a modified 4 gal hempy bucket with a drain to recovery system I built .... I put 5 gal paint strainers in to keep the coco/perlite mix from washing out and the prevent the smaller river rocks from clogging up the drain.
