Both of my BlackBerry seeds germinated, one took a couple days extra. Both done in the RQS easy start tray, and in my seed propagator. Both transplanted at the same time into their final pots.
I hope to get some nice fruity berries from this one!
Very excited to see how this one looks! Both seeds were sowed at the same time, but one of them took a few days longer. This had resulted in one seedling being 4 inches tall, the other is only 2.5inch! I’m hoping it’s not a runt, and purely because it germinated a little later.
Side note, I ran out of soil so these 15L pots are only half full 😅 never mind!
One of the blackberry plants definitely has stunted growth, not sure why but hopefully she’ll pick back up.
However, the healthy plant is looking great and I think will do very well! So that is the plant I will be documenting from now on in this diary.
Wow, this blackberry strain shot up for the sky. Towering over the others in my tent.
The calyxes are showing hints of purple too, it will be interesting to watch this colour develop.
The stunted plant is about half the height at 7 inches compared to 16 inches. I wasn’t going to document this plant, but how can I not, she’ll still be producing flowers!
28 inches, and 16 inches respectively. This plant has stretched high, and is now dominating in the grow tent!
More purple colour coming through now, looking very nice.
30 inches , and 23 inches. Purple really showing now, can’t wait to see what the buds look like. Think they have stopped stretching now and will focus on bud growth. Pulled a few fan leaves off to help with light distribution
Always worth taking a chance and keeping the ‘runt’ of the seeds. She’s picked up and is flowering just as good as the main healthy plant.
Couple orange hairs appeared already, she must only have about another 2 weeks left I would guess!
