Welcome to the belated posting of the 2020 Outdoor! It’s been a shit fuck of a summer, and year for that matter - so haven’t had a ton of time to get at this diary. That said, it’s one helluva line up this year with a couple from HSO and Seedsman, mixed with a sprinkle of OSS and BombSeeds👍😎👍😎👍. We’re runn’n the BigBomb on a mainline that we expect to get super tall. We’re also topping the Sugar Breathe. Other than that, everything else is au naturelle😎😎😎. If just half of the crop is successful this year, we should be set in terms of variety and stock for the next year. That includes offloading free green to family and friends. As always, what would the outdoor season be without the blatantly obvious, half exposed plant at the side of the house (that’s also as tall as the roof)😬😬😬. Here’s hope’n for a quality season y’all.

Week 3 update - this is where we start to see that the sugar breathe is look’n.... well... a little bit different. Here’s to hoping it’s just early growth issues and she’ll figure it out🤞. The Cali-orange is due for the side of the house and show’n as the strongest early on. Welcome to the belated posting of the 2020 Outdoor! Week 4 update - time to up-pot and get the girls outside under the giant ball of fire. Not a moment too soon either - The Cali-orange just up and decided that it hated the cabinet and current medium. She’s showing a pretty significant, early stage magnesium deficiency for no reason at all. The sugar breath is growing like stink but she’s still putt’n out some very strange and deformed leaf growth. Almost like a ducksfoot mutation of some sort. We topped her almost immediately after the re-pot. The rest of em are status quo and the peyote, blue fire and one an extra big bomb will be moved out to another property shortly. Alls well otherwise and a long way to go still. Welcome to the belated posting of the 2020 Outdoor! Week 5 update - well we topped and stripped the big bud this week. This is going to form the future foundation for a large manifold. Because of the sun exposure this area of our yard gets, I don’t expect a squat Bush but rather a stretchy bunch of large colas. I figure if we manage 8 then I’ll be very happy. Only issue i can foresee (and am actually worried about) is that the biotabs simply aren’t enough to keep ‘er happy. Ran into this issue on a previous grow that also had a reg. Soil mix. This, as opposed to some of those living soils you see peeps brew’n up. The sugar breath hasn’t slowed down at all and just keeps on grow’n post-topping. That said, she looks really fuckn weird. Kinda startn to worry about this one.... no deets on the cal-orange this week. She’s in recovery from that mag. Issue. Alls good in da hood.😎😎😎 Background Welcome to the belated posting of the 2020 Outdoor! Week 6 update - cluster fuck of a week here. I was a little rough on the big bud and ended up kinking both of the mains accidentally. All good though - no breaks and it’s early enough that this kind of thing should actually pay dividends in the long term👍. The sugar breath is straight fucked. Still got the weird leaf growth go’n on. Wondering if it’s at all worth the grow at this point but we’re in it now🤷. The Cali-orange has recovered from the mag def. and transplant and is clearly back to loving life. The leaf damage is somewhat permanent but you almost wouldn’t know she had issues when you see ‘er now. Also added a couple pics of the others that are going off site. Thinkn I’ll clip some clones of the blue fire and Cali-orange just for fun and in case neither makes it outside this year👍. Alls still well. Week 7 update - almost 2 months in to veg. And all girls are on the grow solid now. The manifold on the big bud is still stretch’n out but base is look’n primed👍👍👍. The Pure Africa, oddly enough, has topped itself. The stem just split out on its own. Only seen this once before and should be a good omen👍. The sugar breath - uggghhhh. She’s show’n a yellowing of the lower leaf tips now for absolutely no reason. Could be a nitro deficiency but I really can’t tell for sure because it’s growing so wonky.... looks like ms. Deformity is gonna have some lasting issues. Cali-orange doing its thing - she’s probably gonna be a monster👍😎. Good things grow’n yall👌. Week 9 update - alls good and still grow’n. Cali-orange is starting to get huge and everything else is stretch’n well too. Now the Sugar Breath... what the fuck kinda cannabis plant is that??? She’s just so weird - odd discolouration, ducks footed leaves and this stringy, stemmy sorta stretch to every growth tip.... really annoying, I burnt my last set of biotabs on this girl😡. Week 10 update - To be honest, this is where we sorta tail off on the photos until closer to harvest And I really wasn’t paying all that much attention to em due to other, more pressing matters. Week 16 update - we’re in transition now. On pace for a mid October harvest as expected. Girls are all still lookn great except for the damn sugar breath. Pre-chop update - so here we are, super fast forward to the finish and all the girls are done. At least for the most part. The outdoor at our other property is just do’n it’s thing. No idea what we have there and haven’t seen it all season. Not expecting much as the growing conditions are pretty tough around there. As far as the others are concerned; - the Cali-orange is by far the biggest and a monster of a plant at that. She’s been colouring up on the fade for a few days now and while I would’ve like to push er a little more, we can’t risk the potential frost and we’re already battling the start of a late stage aphid infestation. Got lucky there for the most part - they arrived much later in the season than they have in previous years. Just a gorgeous plant this is, with a ton of massive buds.👍😎👍😎 - the big bomb was suppose to be the signature mainline of this years outdoor. While it was a successful grow overall, we were battling a heavy nitro deficiency almost from the very first week of transition. The biotabs regimen + compost tea just couldn’t keep up and we ended up spike’n er with whatever tomatoe nutes we had kickn around the garden at the time. She made it to the finish but also ended up catching a little bit of the late stage aphids too👎. - for being the smallest of the lot and only contained in a 5gal pot the Pure Africa put out some serious weight. Pretty green buds with a piney sorta profile. Should be interesting, she’s touted as a pure sativa. - oh the sugar breath. This plant was a deformed mutant pretty much from day one. A lot of people (including me) woulda tossed her for something that grew a little more normal but I was lazy and let er live. What a great indecision. This girl, despite her weird leaves is a resinous beast of a plant. Probably the fattest bugs of the lot and definitely the prettiest to boot I think👍😎👍😎. Either way, we might have something special here but only the smoke will tell. Now it’s to all the work washing and trimming. We’re gonna assembly line it this year and hopefully it’ll be a little less tedious. Here’s to beers and shears y’all🤟. Fuckn jazz hands!🙌 Background Welcome to the belated posting of the 2020 Outdoor! It’s been a shit fuck of a summer, and year for that matter - so haven’t had a ton of time to get at this diary. Pretty chill and well rounded indica. It’s got its roots in northern lights and I love me my NL. It’s not too couchlocky either. Relaxing, but not debilitating like some of our other stuff. She was hung an extra day after the bud wash and that was a mistake. She ran through the trim bowl a little haphazardly but remains surprisingly smooth on the draw off the bong. Alls well on this one and we got lots to spare for family and friends.👍🤟😎

Well the whole outdoor mainline was interesting. We usually stick to straight, untrained plants and if the goal was to push all the production into 6-8 colas, then we achieved that goal. But not in the way we expected to. She suffered from a severe nitrogen deficiency during transition which I tried to supplement with micro doses of higher N gen. Fert. It didn’t work and she needed a helluva a lot more than that. She gutted most of her large fan leaves As well as a number of the smaller lower branches to maintain the requirements for the larger colas at the top. but,we did get the deficiency under control in time to see her through healthy to the chop. Add to that a late stage aphid infestation and she performed admirably in terms of resilience. We changed our process slightly this year on the bud wash and flipped to straight baking soda and lemons for the initial soak In lieu of H202 and 2 fresh water rinses instead of one. Did we leave some potential yield on the table, probably. But that’s outdoor and I’m never complaining with half a pound plus per plant👍😎👍😎. There’s only more to come on this years outdoors🤟

Just an awesome sativa-like beast of a plant. We started er early and just let er do er thing. This what she gave us😳😳😳. It was a straight up monster haul off this one, she was in our best spot with the most sun and the weed gods were kind again This year for letting her go unnoticed to any would be thieves👍😎👍😎. This pretty much sets up our gift smoke for the rest of the year which is pretty sweet. The smoke on this girl is still curing, both for the indoor clones we clipped and flowered early as well as this stuff which is only a day or so on the jar. She’s a heavy hitter sativa with a fantastic early cerebral buzz which keeps you active. Minimal come down which is also appreciated. Seedsman has impressed to say the least.

No added nutes or anything for this girl. She got planted and just did her thing. We chopped early enough to avoid any major bud rot issues and retained most of the bud. She did catch a late stage aphid infestation but it was late in the season too so the aphids weren’t able to dig in as much as if it were early summer. She got broken down over about 3 days of non-stop trimming and grinding (in between kids and work obviously). We put er on a 7 day dry as pretty much all of our bud now gets bucked and thrown in the trim bowl. There’s just no other way to do it anymore. Anyone who’s put in real time trimming knows that trimming fuckn sucks💯 - especially when ur stare’n down the barrel of almost a pound of top notch, albeit leafy ganja. It’s a short dry period in a dry environment but the boveda packs have to do less work once the buds are jarred and the additional drying in the jars helps to clear room for burping over the next 3 months. prior to that every stalk got a 3 stage bud wash to get rid of all the dust and critters that have collected on er these past months. First wash of straight lemon and baking soda with 2 follow up rinses and a 24 hour hang dry before final trim. The final trim that goes in to the bowl is all sugar leaf Too so, we’ve collected all of that for each plant and frozen it for a future bubble hash run (stay tuned for details). In summary, the best outdoor grows are the ones that don’t end with a good story, but instead a large number😉. Winter is coming and we’re now fully stocked for the storm y'all🤙🤙😎👍👌.

While some the harvest is still awaiting testing, I gotta say this strain might be the crown jewel of em all. Definitely not gonna call it day stuff, the effects are cripplingly indica. A buttery mellow body buzz with a heavy hit of cerebral confusion. I wouldn’t call it sedative either so it really does tick all the boxes for a 9/10 rating on the overall quality scale: 1:😎👌. Given what she grew like, this is a pleasant surprise. She was showing very strange leaf growth early and we hoped she would just grow out of it. But, she never actually did and all the leaves were ducksfooted. On top of that, each growth tip had a tendency to stretch quite a bit while hugging the main stem. It made for this freakish, gangly lookn thing that really didn’t look like cannabis at all. I spent all barrels on my last supply of biotabs products so had to see er through to the finish. Man am I glad I did👍. She may not have really looked like weed but shes definitely Still got it where it counts👌. She coloured out nicely in late flower too. Again, I continue to be very impressed with Humboldt’s beans. Non-stop jazz hands every time we come to chop🙌.

This one was a throw in to the grow sched. This year and she almost got trashed after a rough start out the gate. However, she proved her worth all season in a 5gal. She got wayyyyy too big for it early but still put out an impressive haul despite the close confines👍. She caught some late stage aphids too but the bud wash took care of that right quick. End of the day she’s an extra 5 ounce addition to this seasons total haul of 2.5lbs👌😳🤙🤟. Winter can come any time now. She’s gett’n a middling rating of 7/10 as a decent sativa. Not too mild and not to strong. The high is somewhat short lasting though as well. It does seem to make for a really solid day smoke so there may be a place for her yet🤙. Further testing to come.... Buds are a pale green with a spice road, peppery kinda profile. Should cure our pretty nicely.
