Starting this diary a little late. Planted August 24th, Currently week 2 of flower. Flipped to 12/12 on day 46 of veg.
This is my first grow, had a couple problems early on, such as my Ph pen being out of wack for a couple weeks, that is why some of the lower leaves look a little funky.
I started out with 4 plants, these 2 ended up being female. I topped one of them when it was was super young, just to see what would happen, I'm sure glad that one turned out female, though, because it has bushed out like crazy.
I just turned the light up to 100% today, the switchable UV/IR has been on for a couple weeks now, and it seems to be loving it.
Week 2 of flower, she seems to be stretching pretty quickly. Trichomes are starting to appear on the leafs.
Been watering every other day for now.
I bought a brita jug(large capacity) so I dont have to evaporate water every day, the filter just gets the chlorine out right from the tap. Also works nicely because it has a faucet, and I can put my watering can right under it, and fill it up without any spillage.
More photos to come as the week progresses.
My timing is slightly off with this diary, I flipped them to 12/12 on October 10th, today is the 29th, so I should have been in the week 3 earlier. this weeks diary will be shortened to make up for it.
Watering about 2L every 2 days. They were top dressed previously, so they should be good on nutrients for at least a couple weeks.
Both plants are nearly identical in height.
More photos, and info to come as the week progresses.
Noticed a bit of sudden yellowing, I am assuming it is nitrogen. But I only have Gaia Green 3-0-3, 4-4-4, and the 2-8-4 power bloom.
The issue is most likely my Ph pen being out of range, I am going to have to calibrate it weekly.
I just top dressed with the 2-8-4 about a week ago, so I am a bit unsure, I don't wanna add too much more and possibly cause other issues.
Watering about a litre per day now, watering every 2 days it seems to dry out too much.
One of the plants has a slight pie dough smell, but still very minimal smell when I open the tent. EDIT: the smell is actually making it passed my carbon filter, and I am not sure why
it is only 1 of the 2 plants giving off the heavy smell as well. The chunkier/darker colour one is the one that smells real heavy, smells really creamy/doughy.
UV/IR has been on for the past few weeks, and will stay on until the end.
The plants have gone through a bunch of issues so far, and are still going strong.
Gave a tablespoon of power bloom to each, on day 31.
Time sure goes by quick, It is already week 6. I sure hope they chunk up near the end :P
Plant "2" has a really strong creamy/doughy smell, plant "1" has like no smell so far.
Moved a clip on fan to blow on the ballast of the LED, and have a oscillating fan down below, which got the temps down a few degrees,
and the plants seem to be enjoying it.
Gave it a top dressing of nutrients last week, so I should not need to add any more, and just keep watering as normal, with a little bit of epsom salt like every 3rd watering.
Plant 1 is getting that similar creamy/doughy smell as plant 2. Both plants are producing a bit of a natural purple fade, the nights have not been too cold.
They are in the final weeks, I hope they fatten up a bit more, but either way they are looking so so much better(trichome amounts) than the automatics I just grew, and those looked great.
I actually lowered the lights slightly, hoping to fatten em up/increase trichome production. They seem to be ok, the leaves have not burned, just need to water a little extra.
Done some very minor defoliation, mostly the really faded leaves. Gonna let it take most of the energy outta the leaves before I try and cut more off, if any.
There was an issue with my timer, the lights were on for 24+hours and I did not realize, I hope it does not cause too big of an issue, especially since it is so close to the end.. Analogue timer, the "off" notch got lifted up somehow, by a cord or something.
There was an issue with my timer, and the light was on for 24-48+hours before I realized. Being so close to the end, I hope it didnt cause too much of an issue. The plant turned purple during that time, so it wasn't cold temperatures that caused the colour change.
Done some very minor defoliation, mostly on the lower areas.
As of day 52, still a lot of clear trichomes, but lots of amber on the leaves. I am gonna buy a better scope to really take images.
Day 54, I am seeing more and more amber appear. gonna be the final couple days.
The buds have a really nice grape/cream smell to them which stinks up the room when the container is open(pre cure), which also comes out in the taste.
Really need a carbon filter, I could actually smell it in the house after it was filtered. But I think that's because my fan was actually sucking TOO hard, even on the lowest settings.
Very nice high to help with sleep, and to relax muscles, I have dislocated my shoulder 3 times, and do feel it being relaxed. but it is also a very clear high which helps you think.
Great Canadian genetics, which survived through a lot as a first time grower.
Room size 3x3x6, but negative pressure turns it into 2.5x2.5x6, which I need to fix for the next run. Dried the buds for 5 days, which might have been just a little too long, 4 and a half would have done it. The light is also 320w, which I cannot edit now(says 400w for some reason)
These plants grew like champs, they went through many mistakes as a first timer such as light leaks, high heat(25c+ during the day) broken/snapping branches during training, possible under watering, light timer issue, ph fluctuations, and low humidity(30%).
Very happy with my 1st grow, well sorta 1.5 as it started at the same time as the automatics from my other diary. Definitely gives you a different perspective when you go out and look at cannabis to buy in a shop, even just looking at how it is trimmed.
Ended up with 124g, which is less than I was hoping for, but its more than I was expecting after seeing the two plants drying. buds are pretty dense, and some of the nicest looking I have seen in person. I only vegged them for around 40 days, next time I will go for longer before flipping to 12/12
Learned a ton, I bought some extra products to improve my next grows, which I am very excited about.
