Starting to notice some decent hairs growing! Getting pretty excited. I do need to get more light to the bud spots. I will wait another week or two before defoliating.
Starting this journal off late. Today marks the start of the 6th week of flowering. This picture is before they were all defoliated. Buds def got a little fatter being defoliated.
Plants were SCROGed and the bet was cut at week 5. this allowed me to defoliate and get the buds more light. plants were very bushy as they weren't trimmed at all.
Just popped in a new Eye Hortilux 600W HPS bulb as well.
UPDATE: Trimmed the last plants and added better pics.
Week 7 of flower. I couldn't find a straight answer online about flowering time. I was seeing 8-9 weeks, 10-12, 12-14.
I reached out to the breeder and they advised 12-14. Also just got my first shipment of Oregon's Only nutes. They smell a slot better than GH lol. Giving my plants half doses of everything from the sample box except the foliar spray.
Seems the Oregon's Only nutes dosage amounts are too high when it comes to a few of them. plants ended up getting a phosphorus excess. Mainly due to the Herculean Harvest, Medusa's Magic and Gaia Mania I think.
the plant at the top left is covered in more white hairs than any other plant. Bottom left plant is also growing new white hairs out of spots on the back of the bud. looks like a teenager getting bacne lol.
Week 9 of flower and the buds seems to be really fattening up. Started giving them a small feeding of Bloom khaos mixed in with the other nutes. I don't plan on using it more than a week or so. I'd like to conserve it.
The P excess seems to be gone. I gave a few feeding last week without any P heavy nutes from Oregon's Only.
I had issues with temps getting to about 82-83 overnight for about 8 hours or so. Humidity was also getting into the low 60s at some points with the lights off. I got a tall oscillating fan and that really helped.
I also just lowered the light a couple inches. I'm looking into a electronic/digital ballast as well as QBs now. But that may be a little bit down the road. I think it should help with heat issues.
Week 10 is finally here! Prior to week 10 I was feeding them 1tsp each of the NFTG sample line. their last but feeding was on 4/13.
I noticed the tips of leaves are starting to get burnt so for my last feeding, it was just molasses and Armor Si for the feeding on 4/17. since then it's been about a gallon of plain water for each plant every other day.
Should only need 2-4 more weeks on this. I will probably take a look at the trichs this week. The white hairs keep growing though.
EDIT: Seems like I have a small amount of amber trichs. may chop the plants down in a weekish. I want to make sure they are flush properly.
I think I'm going to chop these down this weekend! Can't decide if I should do this weekend or wait another week..
I feel like waiting the extra week is better than cutting them down early.
They've been flushed with plain pH water the past week - week and a half. I'm going to continue to flush until I cut them down. May be another week or two.
I usually use my vape pen more often than I smoke actual flowers, but now I find myself reaching more for this! I was worried the smell wouldn't be there, however after curing in jars for several weeks it smells amazing!
The high is a real nice one. To me it's a head high, very giggly and relaxing. Overall I am very happy with my first grow. I learned a lot and definitely dove in more to the hobby than I thought.
The plants were vegged for 100 days on the nose (wasn't planned lol). I had a SCROG net that I wanted to fill out about 80% before I switched to florwer. I ran into some rookie mistakes like over watering and nute deficiencies that slowed down the veg.
I wish I found this site sooner when I started or I could have documented my veg better! to summarize it, each plants was topped once and scrogged - nothing else besides some LST.
Trimming took about 9 hours with some help. My initial goal was a lb. but with it being my first grow I knew that wasn't 100% realistic.
The bud as of 5/1 is 3 days into drying. I'll have to tally up the dry weight and add it later on.
The plants are drying in brown paper bags in a dark tent. My tent hasn't moved out of the 45-50% RH and 68-72°F which is great. I think they will dry perfectly. I open the bags and burp them a little bit once a day.
After the drying I will cure them in jars with boveda packs. I do plan on getting this tested at a lab since I have easy access to one.
Will have to update on the Taste & Effects soon!000
Thanks! Had some issues with overwatering and nute deficiencies throughout veg and early flower. All expected with a first grow though. It's a pretty resiliant plant!
