this was a turbulent week for sure! the day after the last entry, the leaves just kept sagging and going down. so i did an emergency transplant, from the soggy milk jug into the final pot. went to the garden center and got a small bag of houseplant earth, which has less pearlite than i would like but hey. also got some "azalea, camellia & rohodedron soluble plant food", this one was the closest to the 2-1-2 ratio that's recommended by bruce bugbee from the u of utah. in the question i forgot to mention that there were no holes in the milk jug... when i lifted the plant from the jug, water was running out, it was completely soaked. and definitely no healthy or earthy smell but kinda foul. two days later she was looking good again, and shooting out new leaves. because more light had always been better, so far, I tried putting her really close to the light this time. turns out, about 5 cm is too close and she got a massive "sunburn" from that. i'm pretty impressed with how many mistakes my poor little warrior plant has survived so far! hope i am soon done with the fuck ups, until next week.

soil (sandy) stays pretty moist. so i'm careful with watering, don't want in anaerobic. same time i feel the plant is always happiest with nice and pround leaves after watering.

definitely a little muddy... i wouldn't go crazy, but a gentle breeze will help speed evaporation. not much you can do once planted. if you intend to transplant, make sure to mix in vermiculite or perlite (hydroton, various other things) to provide better drainage. vermiculite or perlite is good at 50%. Smaller pots can get away with a lower %. make sure to allow top 1" to dry before watering... it may take forever in this case, lol. Good / bad to that.. staying wet for so long isn't optimal in the long-run. Get a wet/dry cycle going as best you can. that'll avoid bad microbes and keep that area oxygenated too.
