2020-09-20 I am counting these weeks in a weird way due to the day it started. The first week will only have 3 days and then all subsequent weeks cover 7 day periods. I got 12 seeds from this seed merchant and I murdered 4 accidentally before these 2 worked. I am already a few weeks in and they are flowering. Just uploading pics now!
2020-09-27 Growth is a bit slower than expected, I think the nutrients were slightly too low. I was growing these in 2 gallon pots and the pH was very swingy because of the low volume/low nutrients. Added more nutrients in response
2020-10-04 Realized that I was going light on nutrients at 300 ppm so I changed it up to ppm=550 mid-way through the week and you can see the growth really start to take off!! Really crappy camera too but that's about to change!
2020-10-10 Bumping up the nutrients caused a spike in growth and stopped the burn that I was seeing on the tips! Roots aren't developing as robustly as the photoperiod plants that I've grown but it seems to be doing well.
2020-10-18 Changed the nutrients up to the 'aggressive vegetative' growth. Seems to be working! Lots of growth and not many signs of nutrient deficiency but a bit of Cal/Mag issues with plant 1.
2020-10-25 Switched up to the aggressive vegetative growth and bumped up the PPM a bit to 900. It was a bit much for the plants so I had to dilute to 850 with fresh water. I later went with the transition to bloom nutrients but I will post that up next week.
2020-10-28 Flowers! Plant 2 (always shown second) is a bit further along. The nutrient deficiency on the 1st plant never went away and the entire plant is a different shade of green everywhere! What a difference. These plants had identical nutrients/conditions so I can't explain it, some mutation maybe. Plant 1 is still flowering though so I'm gonna see what happens! Plant 2 is looking strong and big!
Sorry, I took a break from this site. Uploading my finished grows now! I used transition nutrients too late, I think it's causing some stretch. I am using bloom nutrients now!
They were both putting on weight. The one you see by itself with the Phlizon light was always on 16/8 but the other plant had to be on 12/12 because it was in a tent with a photoperiod plant (white widow which I almost posting).
The phlizon light seems to produce more nutrient burn even tho it is lower wattage. I think it's too close but at this point the buds were looking pretty good. Reduced cal-mag supplement.
This week I saw some maturation in the trichomes but still no amber appearing. I am a fan of more cerebral, energetic experiences so I tend to try to chop right before/as amber trichomes appear! Looking good and smelling incredible.
Calyxes are fattening, trichomes are glistening! I am doing something right. I am still struggling with getting them to eat and I had to really reduce nutrients towards the end. I typically don't do flushes at all but the plant indicated that it was slowing down its metabolism despite good conditions so I knew it was close to chopping time.
Here they are, finished! The plant in the smaller tent definitely packed on much more weight. The issue with the other plant was being in a 12/12 tent and having a taller plant in there which was hogging the light. Still got beautiful smelling flowers. These were all taken in the last week of flowering. Super happy with the new setup that I put in with the Mars Hydro light! Very nice plants but they did take their sweet time in the beginning.
I had a pretty decent yield but I had to keep one of the plants in a 12/12 tent which absolutely affected the overall yield and the final flower weight. Interesting to see the difference anyways. This turned out really great. I just need to do some more defoliating and removing of larf... That said, I used the larf as tester nugs gifted to a few friends and everyone was in love. I have a single jar now still being cured and it smells better than anything I've ever gotten from a retailer. I would grow this strain again.
