This time I planted the seed into a 1L airpot after a taproot emerged, and waited for it to push up through the soil. I germinated in a wet washcloth, sorry no images. I’m going to try to get daily images. Using Black Gold seedling mix. I will be adding more images this week up to day 7. ******** From Leafly: A true A-List cannabis strain. Blueberry’s legendary status soared to new heights after claiming the High Times’ Cannabis Cup 2000 for Best Indica. The long history of the strain is traced back to the late 1970s when American breeder DJ Short was working with a variety of exotic landrace strains. However, throughout the decades of Blueberry’s cultivation the genetics have been passed around, due in large part to DJ Short working with multiple seed banks and breeders. The sweet flavors of fresh blueberries combine with relaxing effects to produce a long-lasting sense of euphoria. Many medical patients appreciate Blueberry for its ability to suppress pain and relieve stress, while connoisseurs and growers admire the strain for its colorful hues and high THC content.

So much for daily pictures. Moved a bit closer to the light. Added low ppm fertilizer as it looked possibly hungry.

Small starting week 3, still very small. May have overwatered, as I lost a seedling from underwatering and may have overcompensated. I’m confident this will recover. Still learning! Added 250 ppm grow nutes as cotyledons went yellow on day 20

I added some nutrients and topped the soil off. I am starting to see roots at the bottom. I’m going to wait until the soil is drier to feed again. If you have any suggestions I am open. I’m still figuring out the best height for my LEDs.

Transplanted into 5 gal equivalent air pot. I used a mix of leftover Recipe 420 soil, perlite, earthworm castings and Earth Juice Amazon Bloom soil which was a bit more spendy. The plant seems very happy! Last week I also augmented my lighting with a 65W Horticulture Lighting Group 3000K quantum board I found on Amazon for $99, thanks to Bigpun. It’s making an enormous difference. I will get back to numbering days. Added nematodes on day 37 and watered I have never had a plant look like this yet. Like it’s supposed to. Added nematodes to innoculate soil.

4-30 Beginning of week. This plant is living up to the diary’s name. WISH I COULD GROW OUTSIDE USING THE SUN AS NATURE INTENDED! 5-1 Swapped spots with White Widow so WW could have more light. Watered and light 300ppm feed. 5-4 Watered with light 400 ppm nutes. 5-6 looking dark. I may have spilled some nutes on the leaves, or perhaps I have a calcium deficiency showing per @farmerbrett . I will add in more cal-mag as I am using bottled water.

5-7 I’m not sure if the ugly leaf spotting is calcium deficiency, spilled nutes, or something else. I added some Cal Mag. The plant is otherwise healthy and I am not worried. I got a new fan, and it’s got hit pretty hard with it. I’m figuring out the best placement for fans. The plant looks a bit janky but I am sure it's fine. 5-11 topped off soil. Added water plus nematodes. Rearranged space. 5-13 super cropped

Last watered-fed 6-9. Struggling with a combination of possible issues: overwatering, windburn, ph, deficiency, and fungus gnats. Still looking pretty terrible. 6-15 After some discussion with @farmerbrett, I decided to unwrap the airpot and pull any compacted soil and coco gently out. There was a pretty good root ball. I gave it some pokes with a skewer, refilled the pot with half perlite half soil, added mycorrhizae and microbes and gently set her back in, and filled in the sides with 2 parts soil, 1 part perlite. She was pretty dry, so I watered with cal/mag, enzymes, microbes and some Fox Farms KELP me KElp you.

6-19 very light water & fed—recovering from overwatering 6-22 Watered slowly and lightly with enzymes. Soil was very dry. 6-22 flipped: While not ideal for this plant, I flipped lights to bloom. The other girls need to get going and I personally need the mood boost of blooming cannabis. I also don’t want to be flowering into the worst of So Cal heat in September. 6-24 photos. LOoking nicer

Yeah it looks like possible nitrogen deficiency. I've foliar sprayed guano/emulsion and had my leaves go from yellowed to emerald within an hour. It definitely looks like she'll turn around though. Best of luck

Much better isn't it ? 😉 The leaves are still a bit puffy but less than last week, keep on doing like that ! But she's still full of water , can you see those kinds of speed bumps on the leaves ? It's the cells still full of water ! Tag me next week. If you don't change anything , she will be fine in 3 weeks 😉

@JUNGLE_B4RNS, I didn’t understand what the speed bumps meant but now I do. I have symptoms on one of my others plants (Summertime Squeeze) and am letting all of them dry more thoroughly before watering by waiting for the pot to get light. The blueberry cheese also had pretty curled leaves and she had recovered nicely. The enzymes are pretty miraculous. Thanks for checking in.

Puffy leaves , definitely overwatering ☝️
TheFairyBudMother
TheFairyBudMothercommented7 years ago
@JUNGLE_B4RNS, Well I will try! I have nothing really to lose right now. I poked through the soil pretty thoroughly with a skewer. I don’t have enzymes, but can order some. If there’s a product you recommend let me know—I will check your diaries for what you use. I also don’t think I have trichoderma. I have root microbes, and some humic acid, and over a pound of mycorrhizae.
JUNGLE_B4RNS
JUNGLE_B4RNScommented7 years ago
@TheFairyBudMother, yes, in 3 steps. First step add some enzymes , at max amount recommended by manufacturer, lift the pot and keep the weight in mind. Step 2, on the next day use a knitting needle to poke the soil to oxygenate it and uncompact it. Keep on lifting the pot everyday until it becomes light and able to lift it easily with one hand . When it is light again, step 3, add some mychorizae, trichoderma, and some Humic Fulvic acids. Overwatering rots the roots hairs, enzymes are gonna eat and transform the dead cells into food for the plant , poking the soil will hopefully re-oxygenate the soil a bit faster , but you must let it dry just a bit too, then the mychorizae and trichoderma plus the Humic Fulvic will rebuild the roots system stronger . Recovering time, about 4 weeks ☝️
TheFairyBudMother
TheFairyBudMothercommented7 years ago
@JUNGLE_B4RNS, I let it dry out twice now before watering — 9 days, then 6. My blueberry cheese had similar issues but not as severe and has come around. It’s really difficult to overwater in air pots. The nursery was out of perlite so I cut some of my soil with coco coir. I think it may have compacted and is holding water at the bottom. I’m guessing that foliar spray on the leaves was a bad plan? I will leave it alone for a while unless you have some suggestions.
JUNGLE_B4RNS
JUNGLE_B4RNScommentedweek 137 years ago
Yes , I was use to use Cannazym , but now , after testing it, I will recommend Cellmax Allzymes which is 4x times more efficient. No drama if you don't have Trichoderma's , your root microbes , the Humic Fulvic and the mycorrhizae will do the jod
