Germination
12 hours in water, two or three days in a paper towel. Two of the seeds didn't germ as good as I would have needed to make me feel at ease with them, they didn't make it. My first grow, my fault TBH.

Been taking it easy on watering till the girls get a bit more root structure, I have an extra light mix were the seedlings started. I posted a photo of how my soil is set up. I should be able to just add water and the soil does the rest,

14 days, looking good. Once I figured out my light wasn't close enough I dropped it down to 14 inches running at 60% a couple days ago. They really started spreading out. The VIPARSPECTRA XS1500 is an amazing light, runs real cool with the setting at 60%. Did the hand test and gets next to nothing as far as heat goes. 552.31 ppfd if the Lux converter is telling me the right stuff. The one with the wider leaves is the one that germinated faster than the other, popped out of the medium within 24 hours. The other one waited a little bit longer. Watered today, 4oz per plant, same as 3 days ago, the medium is dry because the medium Im using is pretty hot outside the light mix area. It drinks it right down when I do water, the light mix medium seems to hold the water well around the base of the plant, still keeping up the humidity in the room to help with that. So far really happy overall with the results. Learning a lot as I go, hope to have it finish looking pretty.

I feel like things are going well, I think Im closer to about 3 and a half weeks along. They took half a liter today each, after being a bit stingy watering the whole pot. It washed to the bottom of the tray but sucked it up in about 5 min.Top dressed with worm castings and put some planter trays so I could get a better Idea of the water is as I will need to start watering more and more. I feel they both are ready to take off this week or so. I don't expect them to get to awful huge. They are loving this light as much as I am, staying cool @ 75% and 30000 lux. They rebound from watering way quicker. Since this is my first grow I watch EVERYTHING like a hawk. The medium was pretty dry on the whole, I think the top dressing will help a lot as I will start to water the whole pot now.

The breeder (AutoSeeds) says they work better if you don't LST to much and focus on the main cola. Should I select a few of the large leaves and defoliate them to get more light in the middle. Just don't want to pick the wrong ones. Hope I have enough images to help you help me.

I wouldn't defoliat just yet, maybe some lst, tucking or I've seen people tie the big fan leaves together for a few hours a day to get light to lower growth. I've been defoliating like crazy (too much probably :) In the future I will do 2 big defoliations 1 beginning of flowering and another about 3 weeks into flowering. Remove the odd big leave here and there if blocking lights. I've grow from this breeder and started training I've of the plants very early age from it will. Doing a great job so far. Happy growing

Watering of this strain has got me all confused. It really acts like a female, doesn't like to be watered, doesn't like not to be watered, doesn't know what to eat. I guess that the plants are healthy and not dead so there's that. I feel they should have veged a little bigger. My first grow so I could have done something to cause that. I did pull 4 leaves out each of them a week or so ago, the plants seemed to like that and shot up a good half inch right after. Each plant is different but the same strain as you can see. The larger one top flower is not as formed as the smaller one.

I see clawing occur in one of your pictures (growdiaries.com/diaries/84476-auto-seeds-polar-express-grow-journal-by-ptrain which is a sign of Nitrogen overdose. I would check the balance with a nutrient ppm meter and flush the plants with Canna Flush .

Didn't think worm castings would cause so much of and issue. Nitrogen toxicity was an issue. Did a flush, just going to see how this next week plays out. Each plant is so different.

Can you confirm this is a potassium deficiency? This happened after a flush of an amended soil (SoHum), please take into account before you answer. I do have some Down to Earth Organic White Azomite Powder OTW, just not sure how much to add yet.

Why did you flush if you don’t mind me asking? You shouldn’t have to flush an organic soil unless you have some big problems. If you didn’t have any issues before flushing, you’re most likely gonna have them now as flushing washes away beneficial microbes in your soil. These microbes are what breaks down the amendments and turns them into a usable nutrient for the plant. Without them, your plant will start to suffer. Also, azomite is great. I use it when amending my soil and in compost teas. It won’t really treat a deficiency but it’s great for trace minerals and as a “house” for microbes. Since you flushed the soil, I’d let it dry out completely and then give a compost tea to get those microbe populations back up. Check out www.composttealab.com for info and recipes.

The fast growing plant just stopped. My first grow Im not going to beat myself up to much about it. Asking a grow question here isn't very productive, doing my best to get my issues figured out. Happy one plant is in flower and looking the part thus far.

The one in flower seems to be doing great so far. The bigger one is still in pre flower or veg. Hoping for the best on my first grow. Still only nutes is what's in the soil. I will be getting something to feed it this week.

The girls got a new home with a 4x4 grow tent. I find it much easier to control the temp/RH of the room. The flowering girl got a top dress of the Dr. Earth 707P Organic 8 Bud & Bloom- 5tsp / Dr. Earth Organic 5 Tomato, Vegetable & Herb 3tsp water with Plantation Blackstrap Molasses mix I made. Been about 3 days and the buds has grown a bit more with some density. I hope this continues, she seems to like the new grow space running the light at 80% at 14 inches center doesn't seem to cause it any issues. The "preflower" girl is still growing upward a bit each day, bushy as hell too. Both plants show signs of first time grower abuse. Top dressed with Dr. Earth Premium Gold All Purpose 2tsp / Dr. Earth Organic 5 Tomato, Vegetable & Herb Fertilizer 5tsp with ph 6.3 to 6.5 water. about 2 days ago, it does drink a good amount of water these days. I only have the one light so I cannot flip it just yet, still holding out hope it might flower anytime. As you can see she is not getting a direct light on her since she is a few inches taller than the flowering plant. I got the SoHum/Happy Frog soil hoping that's all I would need. Not really happy I took the advice I got here to flush my plants, It left me not knowing what nutrients I still had left in the pot. This next week should give me a good indicator of how the plants are doing.

On the girl that is flowering Im still seeming to have nutrient issues. The buds look nice otherwise. The girl that hasn't flowered is looking ok, and growing taller.

On the Flower girl I figure about 2 weeks left Just watering when dry, about every six days. I feel it's going to yield more than I had expected. Just glad it lived this far. The Veggie Girl, late bloomer. I only have the one light so flipping her 12/12 really isn't' an option yet. Looking pretty healthy for the most part still getting taller every week. watering about every 4 days.

Flower girl is about a week away from chop. Happy with the buds with this strain. The smell was very minimal, and the buds are kinda chonky and sticky. Veg Girl the late bloomer is either going to get flipped to 12/12 or find its way to the trash to make room for the next grow. Its a healthy plant and seems a shame. Haven't decided. Thanks for stopping by.

Being my first grow, I was happy with the outcome. Smoked a little bud that didn't make it into a jar. Through the harshness I taste a lil fruit flavor, almost a citrus, the buzz nice and stoney.
