3 seeds germinated. 3 days in wet paper towel. The tap root was about 3cm long and the first leaves were already showing. I think 2 days would have been better. I planted 1 with the leaves just barely out, another covered in 1cm of soil. The third was also just barely out of the soil but this one always remained small so it will not be mentioned anymore.
At this point I haven't done anything with them. Just keeping the soil moist. The sun is pretty hot so I'm giving water almost every day. No nutrients are being used.
Things are looking nice. Plant 1 started to show pistils earlier even though it is much smaller than the other now. Watering only every other day now when the soil looks dry.
A big storm with heavy wind hit at 2 in the morning. I ran out to save my plants. The big one was completely bent over flapping like a flag in the wind. In the morning, I tied it to a stick. Plant 1 was not affected much. Plant 2 recovered pretty quickly.
No nutrients other than water when looking dry.
I was worried about not seeing trichomes on plant 2 even though it had lots of buds. I read lost of forum posts and came to the conclusion that I should just wait it out a bit more. I watered with a mixture of 300ml pee and 300ml water. I did this twice this week. I also made a solution of banana peel and water. The idea was phosphorus from pee and potassium from the banana peels. Who knows...
I think I did another banana peel and water solution. Otherwise just a bit of water for the big plant. The small one doesn't seem to need as much water. I cut a couple of the fan leaves that were one the bottom and also a couple that seemed to be shading one of the buds.
I saw a few aphids on the bottom of the lower leaves so I either cut them off or just squished the little bastards with my fingers. The seem to be gone.
Growth is very slow, I assume from outside temperatures. More pistils are turning brown and the are traces of purple colours coming out on the stems and leaves. I have a piece of plastic on top of them so they are sheltered from the rain. People talk about mold being a potential problem. I hope this is not the case as the buds never get wet.
Waiting and waiting for harvest. Trichomes are still all clear. Buds are not very dense but oh well. Not that I'm looking to sell. Hoping they mature soon. I'm on week 12 of a supposed 8 week grow.
After cutting last week, the buds are still drying. The ones left on the plant are still there. I'm waiting for the trichs to turn amber but they don't seem to want to. Seems like a very long time.
I got 3 plants and all ended up being a different size. This could be my fault due to stress and transplanting. The tallest stayed in it's original pot. I'm overall please with the grow as this was my first. They took forever to mature after flowering but that may be due to the outdoor temperatures. No temperature control, no nutrients, just some coffee grindings, banana peels and a bit of pee.
There were no amber trichomes but a week before I had pinched off some flowers at the nodes and dried them. I smoked them after a week and the high was pleasant so I decided to go ahead with the harvest. I left a bit on the plant to continue. The weather is cold so I wanted to get most of it. I will update in a week or so with the dry weight and how the left-over plant is going.
Hey, good luck with that! I hope you'll be safe from mold.
Definitely keep an eye on it, I had a plant on my balcony which suffered from mold and powdery mildew although it was properly sheltered from the rain.
Good luck for your grow!! I'm growing Quick One me too and I think it's a very unstable strain... my plant has just 4 leaves, doesn't grow much. I see your 3 plants have 3 different sizes.... so probably there is something strange in the genetics I guess
@giggi These seeds of quick one are very unstable. I'm in the second batch with them and they always had problems ... in my diary it is possible to see the seed husk stuck to the leaf at the end of the first week
@xxkilo, I would say it's a very sensible strain then. I mean everything should be perfect to make it grow properly. I started the seed in a small pot (1.5lt) with a good mix of soil, the same of her bigger sister who's growing very well. But maybe I didn't gave her the correct amount of light for the first week and half... then, when she stopped growing I changed pot and soil (5.6lt) and gave her a better light. Now seems something is going better, I will update soon my diary, but new leaves seems to grow faster than before.
Grande mitico!
Oh sei quasi alla fine eh, in outdoor le cose si allungano specialmente se fuori stagione.. controlla la chat, ti ho scritto ;)
Buon raccolto!
