05/11 seeds left to soak in small cup of distilled water ('de-mineralised', ph 6) set above warming mat on low in dark. ~24hrs ie should see some cracking. expecting to pull and transfer to paper towel method for germ tomorrow.
06/11 checked seeds ~18hrs in, seem to be swelling and beginning to split. put large ceramic plate on warming mat to bring to roomish temp. transferred seeds to dampened paper towels after almost 30hrs of soak/visible tap roots. double towel on bottom plate, towel and another plate on top all left above low-set warming mat. will check regularly to keep damp and expect to pot tap roots once ~5-10mm, likely tomorrow
07/11 actually springing 6 seeds all up, likely 2 for meself and 4 for a mate if they all make it. 2 days since beginning soak (18hrs paper towel method) 5/6 have ~1cm tap roots. 6th is lagging a bit but tap root is poppin thru. using canna terra pro as substrate for this grow. filled 6 starter pots and dampened soil prior to potting the 5 ready to go. covered pots w plastic bottles and placed under light ~60cm away. last seed planted 8hrs later. light on solid for over 24 hrs and will go off tomorrow
09/11 all 6 seedlings are visible (first 5 started popping through yesterday arvo ie. just over 3 days since soak). pic uploaded. today and the next couple days weather is forecast hotter than usual. still checking every few hrs to make sure the bbs aren't drying out. majority needed re-dampening a couple hrs before light was due to go out so watered and killed the light early today. will settle on 18/6 sched (light off during warmest part of the afternoon).
10/11 progress pic uploaded. 5 going fine, 6th seed is a lil gimpy but looks to be okay. hot weather continues (32) and tent steady ~30/31 during lights on. seemed still damp before lights out but w this hot weather they'll dry out before next lights out so sprayed carefully while they're on before overnight to only wet soil. next will have a little feed in it to start wk 1

the difference between germ success/failure (aside from reputable seedz) seems to be balancing the substrate never becoming bone dry while also avoiding overwatering. means also choosing initial germ pots which aren't too tiny, or too large. moisture, light and warmth. i've played things safe and used bottled ph'd water

12/11 sprouts are looking g so began week 1 w tiny feed at 1/2 label strength. they're beginning to out-spring their half-bottle humidity covers so have swapped these for a large sandwich bag over all starting pots.
14/11 noticed mould developing on sides of starter pots under bag so wiped them down and won't be using anymore. too much moist, still air. gotta use larger bottles haha
15/11 re-dampened w half-strength feed just prior to lights out.
16/11 again re-dampened w feed before lights out. clearly running @ once a day now that bag has been ditched

18/11 repotted 2 of the 6 seedlings into final fabric pots, day 11 since first planted. will be picking up a couple smaller pots so i can transplant the remaining 4 into intermediate plastic pots for that mate, likely tomorrow. dampened all including canna terra in final pots w distilled (not feed) pre-transplant. haven't bumped up light
19/11 transplanted remaining seeds to temp pots for mate. will feed tomorrow starting wk 2. end of wk heights are ~5cm

25/11 fed again. circulation fan ( broken oscillating :/ ) is on occasionally & using half chopsticks to prop up sisters a little. no longer spending time in humidity covers
27/11 fed w strength up'd to ~75% for wk 3. end of week pics uploaded, one gal bent at base and ~1cm shorter than the other. raised light ~5cm to maintain distance. girls are looking healthy as and at 4th/5th node so will fim in coming days
29/11 fimmed gals (pics uploaded) & up'd daylight hrs. wanna test 20 hrs for a couple wks before bringing back down to 12 for flower. again inadvertently hit one gal higher than the other, basically a top i reckon.

17/12 returned from hols and gals are looking a lil worse for wear. up'd feed strength from last wk (monsta grow @ 100% and go green calmag supp @ 125% of label) and fed. will feed again tomorrow. noticed light timer was out by about 45mins and microwave clock indicating there had been a blackout. internet confirmed this happened a few days ago.

20/12 still not looking too good, tried a large water. heading away again for chrissy/nye so we'll see how they hold up

gals didn't do too well over chrissy/nye. on reflection a combo of not enough feeding/water, especially given the small fabric pot size and it being summer. i've recovered one gal, started training and about to switch to flower on her. been on an 18/6 sched the last few weeks, currently on 14/10 before 36hrs darkness. i'd say she's 3 weeks behind development, ie now 9 wks old and ~wk 6 size (trained now but ~30cm in height). the other gal i put outside thinking she was done for, but is also coming back. picking up from here
03/02 indoor gal has recovered well. on the verge of flipping to flower, added flower nute sweetaz to feed
10/02 fed and flipped me indoor gal to flower w lights off this morning, yewww. will leave out for 32hrs to test method. haven't added any go green the last couple feeds, introducing boosted sweet az amount - figured it couldn't hurt w earlier deficiencies. will pull back on amount next wk
11/02 bloom light on, day 2230-1030. gal is noticeably beginning flower.

02/03 fed. reflected back on my first grow, seems this gals' flowering is trending at least a wk ahead. could be due mainly to the strain, could be cause of the 36hrs of darkness prior to bloom switch to spur on flowering hormone.

05/03 been noticing smell developing. nothing too noticeable til now, a light chemical-ish perfume to the laundry haha since my setup doesn't include an exhaust. quite different to the sherbet/passionfruity whiffs of me last grow. big water w regular tap ~1.5l (for ref feeding ~750mls/2 days for the last wk or 2). headed away for a long weekend

10/03 fed. pistil tips beginning to change colour, will upload pics tomorrow. haven't really bothered w much defoliation other than simply removing older leaves as they become yellow

14/03 fed. gal looks to be in her last few wks of flower. on track for early apr harvest. will begin germ on next seeds soon as moving forward a min of 3 harvests per yr is achievable.

18/03 gave big straight water. bud lines are becoming so heavy the branches are bending haha. last couple days have been ~26 and forecast to continue, will slightly adjust next wks temps. bumped light up a few cms. pics uploaded.
25/03 this gal is approaching harvest, lower fan leaves have been yellowing and dying naturally for over a week. there's a lot less trichome development on this strain than my last, i haven't used a trichome microscope cause even just to the eye that glitter did change from a pearlescent white sheen to beige. hope to see a sudden increase in the % amber pistils, we're headed away 01/04 and would love to pull her to dry during that if she's looking ready. would be day 50
26/03 fed a litre at sweetaz 7.5mls/l, monsta bud 8.75. might be this gals' last before a slightly shorter than norm flush, but these are short-term grows and she's a smaller than usual gal.
28/03 big water. looked into flower nutrients a lot more cause i've had upper leaves curling and crisping. on reflection i've kept veg nutes too high too long i reckon, the flush is probably doing her well haha
29/03 pics uploaded. my partner had this training frame in the shed so i've pinched it from her and re-tied this gal for some proper support. frame's bit tall and doesn't fit where i'd usually take piccies so scuse the patchy walls in our rental laundry haha

pretty consistent harvest per plant with my first grow (51 vs ~52.5). filled a single jar w almost the same grams.
will upload harvest pic shortly and update on smoke in coming weeks
the smaller gal i had recovering outside was left a further ~2 weeks in flower flush. all pistils were amber when i returned from holiday and she was exposed to cooler & rainier weather. looked kinda different which was cool and will be keen to see the bud & smoke difference.
