This is a sub for a northern lights that didn't germinate. It is growing alongside another northern lights that germinated (different diary) and it is about 8 days behind. I hope that there won't be any issues with the distance to the light as they grow.
Fast starter but she slowed down towards the end of the week. It could be because I reduced watering as I wanted to avoid over-watering but maybe I cut back too much.
She seems to be doing fine. She is not growing as fast as I hoped but she seems healthy. Only worry is that looking at other diaries it seems that it is very common to start flowering early (sometimes in week 5) so I'm thinking that she doesn't have too much time left to grow.
Although there are some pistils appearing in some places I decided to continue as if it was still in the veg stage and start the nutrients from beginning of next week.
She has already started to show signs of flowering so do I turn the nutrients on for flowering and stop stressing her or leave her for a few days/week until more flower sites appear?
No problems so far but I will soon (probably at the end of next week) need to go to a 12/12 light schedule due to photoperiod (supposed to be auto 😠) growing next to her.
I have an auto growing alongside this one which turned out not to be an auto so I need to switch to 12/12 and I want to know what the impact on this auto, which is in the middle of her flowering period, will be. Will it have a significant impact on yield?
So you have to switch because of it’s photo sister? It’s ok! It will just take longer to product. Not sure about yield—- depends on where it is in its life cycle. Perfectly fine to do this— just don’t go the other way. ✌️🏻💚🌿
She is getting there. Buds are not very dense but are very frosty. I hope to get three or four decent size buds the rest seem to be popcorns. I vaped a small leaf with some trichomes on it a few days ago (straight from the plant without even drying it) and I was surprised that it actually had a decent hit (it tasted like I wet dog though 😀). I think I'll give her another ten days or so as top branches seem to be almost ready.
This is the last week before start flushing and turning to 12/12 (because of a non-auto in the same room). Top branches seem to be ready so I may start cutting those first and then wait a few days before harvesting the rest.
Started the harvest. I would say probably 2/3 of the plant have been harvested. I'm gonna let the rest for to mature for another week or so before taking it down. Buds are not very dense but there are lots of them. So far the untrimmed wet weight is 124g and most importantly looks delicious.
I'm just running her down really now. Waiting for the harvest from last week to dry out so I can chop the rest and hang them to dry. Still 2-3 decent buds left on her.
Never thought it would be this easy or satisfying to grow your own. My advise to anyone who thinks it's complicated is just go for it, it really isn't. Just get a light and find some space to grow it, it doesn't need to be a tent (although it helps). Happy grows everyone.
