24K Gold

Seedling stage is upon us. It’s doing great so far. 18/6h light cycle. In my room for temp maintenance. I keep the soil moist with just tap water and a spray bottle. 10 days since germination. It’s STRETCHING. The 2 leaves growing are THICC. I haven’t done much watering or misting bc it’s in a plastic pot and holds moisture pretty well. Just getting the 18/6 LED light. No nutes yet.

11/26 - Happy Thanksgiving! I’ve repot 24K. The stem was like 6in long! So I buried it deep, til about the cotyledons. It will stay in this pot til harvest! I want to see what I can grow in a small space. I’ve seen some nice yields w solo cups. The leaf itself was turning light green so I knew it had some nitrogen deficiency. So it got 2c water w some African Liquid Violet food 7-10-7. And it looks like it’s doing well!

12/4 - Was hiatus for about a week (vacation). The leaves are getting larger by the day. It’s maintaining it’s beautiful forest green color. Still eating up that 18h light. I watered it today w Bonide Liquid African Violet Plant Food 7-10-7 diluted. There were some small flying insects hanging around the plants so I misted everything with a Neem Oil dilution.

12/10 - I made a mini grow tent out of my IKEA shelf. I purchased lights and the Mylar film from amazon. It started smelling a little stale so I threw in the fan today, it was from the greenhouse, which was also purchased from amazon. I’ll throw links in at the bottom. Temp stays around 73-76°F and Humidity between 60-76%. They get watered 2-3x a week with tap water and Liquid African Plant Food. They seem to be doing well! 24K Gold is larger than Blueberry Yum Yum. 3.5” tall and 10” from led lights. Still going strong. I’ll probably top them very soon, after 3rd node. 12/18 - It’s making great progress and doing well. I bent two 3” nail in half and used it as an anchor for LST. I want to keep this plant as short as I can. Also decided to top today. I’ll probably only top until I have four main colas. Still giving it tap water w/ African Violet Plant food. Dealing w/ gnats rn. I put my carnivorous Pitcher Plant in there to try to combat them. It’s trying to recover from being cold AF outside in the greenhouse.

12/25 - Happy Holidaze! Hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday filled w much love and bud! 24K Gold is doing incredible. I topped it last week and it already shot up 2 new main stems. I’m going to wait till they get a little taller then LST those and top them so I end up w 4 mains. I’m trying to keep the plant short so it’s basically anchored to the soil with funky curves. Still doing great though! They’ve still been getting 18h of light and African Liquid Plant Food. Humidity between 50-70% and Temps between 70-76°F. They have a beautiful dark green hue and no deficiencies that I know of. I did have a problem w gnats? But after placing 2 pitcher plants and a recovering Venus Fly Trap, they’ve decreased greatly! I’m super happy about that. 12/26 - Since I did some work on BBYY, I decided to do the same for 24K. I topped the two mains and defoliated all growth below the mains. Hopefully gonna end up w 4 mains and I’ll begin the switch to flowering!

1/1/21 - Happy New Years friends! I did some major defoliation last week as well as topping. So it’s just now recovering w new growth. I’ll also be switching to 12-12 light cycle today! It’s been getting the same tap water w feed every 3-4 days. I’ve had to water more frequently. Looking forward to this new year and new buds!

1/8/21 - It’s been a slow recovery since the major defoliation and topping but we finally got the 4 main sites to come in nicely! 24K Gold is recovering a little slower than Blueberry Yum Yum. Still getting the Liquid African Violet Plant food w tap water (been having to water more frequently). 12-12 light cycle (9am-9pm). I have it hooked up to a Gosund wall outlet so it’s automatic. Temp between 70-76°F. And humidity between 50-70%. I cut some wire and anchored the plant down and spread out the leaves so the 4 main colas will get equal light. CANNABONSAI. Is a term I’ve read online that’s pretty much what I’m doing lmao it’s not as pretty but I’m shaping the stem up like bonsai.

1/15/21 - Shes growing bigger each day! Definitely more aromatic. 12/12 light cycle. Fed tap water w Liquid African Violet Plant food every 2-3 days. Training each head to the outside of the pot across from each other. Doing some defoliation to the giant bottom fan leaves today. Other than that, everything is looking great!

1/22/21 - What’s up beautiful growers?! Everything’s all good here at the Mini Grow/Cannabonsai Farms 👌 😂 12/12 Light Cycle Tap water w Liquid African Violet Plant Food Humidity between 48-60% Temp between 69-75° WE HAVE PISTILS! The plant is growing rapidly, getting bushier and taller each day. Really excited about it! 24K Gold was growing at a much healthier and quicker rate than Blueberry Yum Yum, however, it seems like that’s slowed down and BBYY is in the lead! I won’t do much to it today. I’ll re-anchor the plant as it grows taller each week. (I want that even canopy). Also, look at my thriving Pitcher Plant!

1/29/21 - What’s up growers! Hope all is well! 12/12 light cycle. Temp 70s. Humidity 40-50s. Tap water w Liquid African Violet Plant Food. Looks like we got some deficiency! Some leaves are looking light green kind of spotted. I’m still continuing the African Violet plant food. Hopefully it’ll bounce back. Looks like there might be some bugs as well, picking at the leaves. Did some defoliation and re-anchored some branches. I expect it to explode in growth these next couple weeks!

2/5/21 This is truly a piece of art work! Look at the way the stem is curved! I love it! Not much has changed since last week...still some discoloration/deficiency in the leaf. Not all of them have it though so I’m not sure what’s up w that. The smell isn’t as strong as BBYY and it’s growth isn’t as strong. It’s a late bloomer. Maybe if I fix the deficiency it’ll do better. I’ll keep y’all posted!

2/13 - Happy Saturday Y’all! We’re looking frost today! Outside and inside. OK’s gonna be getting like 15” of snow ❄️ Happy my plants are inside. Not much has changed! Same light, water, and humidity. Last Friday I did some research and come to the conclusion that it had a calcium deficiency. So I crushed some egg shells and kind of sprinkled/mixed it in w the soil. I know it might not do much in such a short amount of time but it puts my mind at ease. Besides that, we’re just trotting along! Not as smelly or developed as BBYY but we’re getting there! I’m just gonna let it do it’s thing this week, I won’t touch it. ✌️

2/21/21 - Happy Sunday Morning! Been busy at work so I didn’t have time to update on Fridays like I usually do but better late than never! NOTHING has changed in terms of watering/feed/light/humidity. Temp has been on the lower side due to crazy ass weather in the south but we’re warming up. Looks like 24K has some deficiency but I’m not messing w it. I’m gonna ride it out til harvest. Just gonna continue watering, feeding, and occasionally clipping a few fan leaves to allow the heads to get light. ✌️

3/13 - I’ve been MIA. Been busy at work and trying to prepare for my Masters. Absolutely nothing has changed to light, water, nutes, or humidity. However, it’s been growing strong and big! 24K is definitely not as strong smelling as BBYY. It has a more earthy cannabis scent that’s much less potent as BBYY. It’s time for harvest! The trichomes are mostly cloudy.
