oyster shell flour Ca/ like sweet lime
Azomite
trace
vermeculite
Mg

Watering: started at 100ml now at 250-300ml ph 6.5-7.2
Watering is tricky for clones
2nd amend/Topper last week Azomite, mykos, crab meal (available to plant in about 2 weeks to feed to middle of flower)
Light - Draw about 280-320 total plus 4 watts for the fan. SMD Full spectrum
changed to 12-12 from 18-6
Growing them tall, not scrog, three apicals on tahquitz look good, GG4 I did a fuck i missed Fimmed, Fog nice apical dominance there too.
The fourth Fog i bot didnt make it. Iffy to begin with, so the way it goes.
A lot to review here
First off, new soil is hard to work with, wet and dry period, hard to get use to. But it all starts with your soil, We know what to put in it, that was last post, Getting the watering right is another story, 200ml every other day just so the media could dry down just doesn't work for me. I was having watering problems from the start.
Transplanting and re-potting, I learned on autos, very different in that you don't touch auto. Regular seeds require at least two transplants. The ghost Jack in the pic was re-potted from a little clay pot to a 1 litre. What a lousy two transplants, roots sticking to the clay pot. so now, in those 1 litres, I'll let them grow to another10-12 inches with luck, any luck.
Toppers, dam, it attracted rodents. why I didnt think of repottings with those clones, why didnt I time my nutrient mix with the repotting? Because my mindset and belief systems were based on autos,
So, with the regulars I'm growing, pot and re-pot then final pot, Each repot timed for fresh nutes and trace.
The clones, omg, the mouse chewed my stems and took down my plants. they were ready to take off too, hence the clones. With a bit of suffering, I think most will make it.
Monster cropping, I fimmed a few clones, forgot which ones, but they started to flower when the mouse took them down, Mostly the fog and the gg4, the tahquitz might still have been vegging. So, as I understand it, it's wait and see.
Rebuilt grow box, angle iron, nuts and bolts, angle grinder, cabinet doors. And a Tarp. Just stuff laying around that can be decomponeted without nails or screws. Previous box had way too much air, but did it's job.
Light leaks, I'm thinking ahead to when this next crop will be ready to flower.
Action plan - I have a lot of reg plants, not to mix with autos, repotting and nutes are to be timed, The 100 litre of soil per M2 time honored rule, aint quite working for me, I have to fiqure out how to grow stalky plants instead of 6 2 x 2 plants in a 3 x 3 space. If my clones succeed, I'll cross that bridge when I get there. My rotation, I think I'm on the right track or basically starting a new crop,
Remember that pruning is high stress. 2nd gen clones, You can get a lot of clones if your monsters succeed. Seeds costs money, I'd get animal, mothertounge, but I'm not there yet.
You do what you gotta do I guess, with what you got. I'll be ok, Just trying to create a perpetual garden while learning on the fly, creates opportunity. Instead of looking at it as a set back or detour, you make or set your goals differently. So, instead of my plan to drop dispensary clones into some soil and then get buds, it kinda changed to preserve the genetics if the nursury discontinues the strain, and have a new strain, tahquitz, multi generational, I want to clone it over and over if that's possible. Money wise, my last batch got taken, batch of seeds, I'll just go and find a seed or clone outlet around here. But I'm thinking these gentetics/terpenes I have in the box now are good ones. Being I cant go buy clones or seeds everytime they dont flourish, I'll learn how to clone. I'm not impressed with gg4, it might be too cold for it. Also the seeds prices are going up, I cant afford those either, like 120 bucks for 10.
So ya, it's worth a drive after lockdown to get proper kinda almost landrace genetics maybe different from og,
Been gone since december came back Feb and got a monster Fog. male ghost jack and female ghostjack
3 transplants and this the final pot. 1st pot baby litres, 2nd 1 gal, last 3 gal.
plan: let them seed, ah what the hell, there aint no plan, you have to adapt and change up as you go. I didnt even wanna look at anything when i got home, Point being, start with a good plan and if all goes to shit, go to plan B and plan c. A good plan will never fail you.
Rather than think about all things that fell apart, look towards what can be.
I started this log with a general plan and it never even occured to me that i might, with luck, end up with a first gen seed crop.
It's just so strange at times what road you are taken to and with the twists and turns where you end up and what experiences you faced with.
Im gonna check the moon phase before i set the light to 12. Im going to add another light to flood the PAR because im losing a lot of reflective light by not reflecting the bottom of the box. Remember I just built this box and its about as dialed in as I can get it. I dont feel like I have light leaks, so i feel good about my dark time. My fan speed is on 2, light intensity about 90,
Watering about 500ml every other day, not ph'd. Rain water. I'll ph the water to open up the more acidic nutes soon. Generally I would ph every watering, but rain water i like.
My transplant was mid Feb, so I probably got another 2 weeks of nute rich soil, by then there should be foilage enough to photo synth its own food. If braching is the term for the plant creating its structure to flower, then that's what I think the plants are doing.
The little spikes, if those are called stomata, they look to me long and wicked, very mature looking spikes.
Temp, its cold, so i might set it to flower next week, i dont know, a little warmer would be nice.
My minds eye of the rootball see it about 4/10ths down in the pot, and hopefully toothpick sized roots versus hair strand size.
I know for sure the ball isnt down at the bottom of the pot. I dont need to go to a 5 gal to finish. If the veg period was really robust, then depending on the age and height, I would transplant, i feel. But since they are well into 3 months... I'll fiqure this grow out first before I dream about going to a bigger pot past 3. But yes, I'm thinking I'm on the right track by planting in baby litre pots, then to 4 litres/1 gal, then to 12 litres/ 3 gal. The purpose is to create a nice rootball to put into a 3 gallon or better.
Looking at the main stem, they dont look like they are starving anymore either, the stems were red, now they got some green running through it.
I moved the light up, fan leaf tips look yellow, could be too much water, i dont know. I'll keep and eye on those tips, maybe it hit a clump of something in the soil.
Anyways, keeep on truckin
I have no clue how i would grow 6-8 plants in a box
They going to 12-12 tonight.
Soil should have a lot left in it, transplant was mid feb, maybe good til mid apr. or 8 weeks, by then it looks like it wont need more nutes as it should be feeding itself.
No N fixation, I'll give it Azos drink soon. Not going to use liquid kelp meal, leaves salts. so do the bud accelarators. Im re-amending, re-amending, and keeping track of whats in the soil. I dont like crusted salts.
Both plants seem to look happy,
Lights set to 12
Watering at about 6.2 from alk 7+
The one on the right is 30 inches the one on the left about 18 inches.
I still think the small one is a male, but I haven't seen enough to know. I got two ways to think about it, if its a female, good, if its a male good, I'll make seeds.
By the way, seeds are so expensive now, the dispensaries are 3 for 40
too much. I can do clones, but why do clones when I have not mastered the cloning process. You want to mother a clone for the genetics, because when are you gonna see that strain come around again? There is a watermelon genetic going around, maybe I'll hunt one down at the local dispensary. To me, that seems more fun.
I never thought through my grow area sequencing. a couple of 18-6 spaces and a 12-12 space would work better for me than what i have now. I'll fiqure it out.
They are flowering, drinking lots. Weather got cold. Stem looks green, don't see a solid red no nute stem situation going on.
New crop started: Dream Queen HSC
I might try to clone this Ghost Jack, maybe a couple, since I have humidity control with those plastic storage boxes (and velcro), but I plan to do that if the fog takes off.
Oh, almost time to move the tall plant, Lots to do to create the best environment I can. I'm learning every environment you try to create is never really perfect, but then if everything was exactly as planned how would we learn anything.
