First time growing, did a lot of research. I'm hoping the germination process is successful! Plus the other plants are just distractions and experiments for research purposes :)
18.11.20: both NL and PL [promo seed- forgot the name of the strain] sprouted just fine, was very happy that the germination process was a success.
21.11.20: both stems were growing rapidly while the leaves didn't grow as much.
23.11.20: figured out that the light was far for them, hence they were overreaching. Didn't want to get them closer to MH light because it's hot and was afraid that it might be too hot for them. Decided to install two 30watt LED lights just above them [3000K and 6000K].
24.11.20: Added more soil and perlite to cover up the stem and stabilise the plants better. Also added a very small amount (2g) of NPK [20:20:20] to 1L chloride-free water and gave them a good wash. Opened the fan for the very first time and humidifier to compensate for the loss of humidity. Currently the NL is at 6cm while the PL is at 4cm [after the addition of extra soil].
Overall: Didn't water the plants much during the first week- sprayed them with moist every 3 days and poured little water in the container [until it was all leveled up] for the soil to absorb it from beneath whenever it needed. Not sure why the leaves haven't grown much which is worrying since they're both auto. I hope this week they would grow better with he support of the new LEDs and nutrients.
* This is my first time growing so all tips and advice are welcome!!
Overall this week been doing what I've always been doing- giving them NPK 20:20:20 5g in 1L chloride free-water once a week plus watering them whenever the soil dries up, nothing too much. As you can see the leaves been growing rapidly, however the stem has only grown by 0.5cm this week and that is to compensate for the overgrowth the took place last week I presume. The plants look healthy and I haven't encountered a problem this week at all so I'm happy :)
P.S. Planning to transplant them within the next two weeks to their final pot and expose them to LST once the stems mature more.
Overall this week has been very eventful and full of mistakes. I managed to burn my NL plant and destroy the progress of the past two weeks.
Day 15: till this day, the plants have been growing exponentially without any issues- looking very healthy.
Day 16: I've decided to transplant them into bigger pots [3L]. While preparing the extra medium I decided to mix a bit of nutes within the soil, transplant them and shower them a bit with nutes mixed with water from the top as well. The roots of both plants reached the bottom of their old pots and were looking healthy. I managed to perfectly transplant the NL plant into her new pot with any disruption or crumbling compared to the PL which I totally bottled it. However, 15mins in and the NL was quite sad with her leaves curling down, while the PL was holding strong. I decided to leave them both be to recover.
Day 18: I had absolutely burned my NL plant. Wasn't sure at the beginning if it was the cause of the transplant itself or the added nutes. Being an amateur, I left it be for two days expecting it was going to sort it self out, however I was wrong. I left it for way too long and killed off its old leaves, should've flushed it as soon as I saw the symptoms. The PL was holding pretty well with just a little bit of burn on the side of it leaves.
Day 19: Today, I decided to get rid of the sick leaves on my NL plant in order to let it focus on growing and nurturing new ones. I'm glad I made this mistake early on, there is still time for it to recover. I also started LST training on my PL plant and hopefully I'll be more attentive and careful with them both from now on.
