Managed to acquire 6 Barney purple punch clones. All have developed a nice root structure. I've never grown this strain so I'm looking forward to the finished smoke. I'll try and update this diary as much as I can and you are more than welcome to come along for the ride. Love n peace folks :)
Feel free to shout up if you think I'm doing something wrong!
At the moment they are under a 26w Secret Jardin LED strip for 16 hrs a day just until they get used to the environment. Probably by the end of next week I'll put them on an 18hr schedule for a week then I'll start using 2 x 600w sunmasters for about 5 weeks
2nd week and the girls have picked up and are starting to look really healthy. On next Sundays update I'm hoping to have them in their final pots (I'll be using the Alien 22l gravity fed system with coco/perlite/clay mix).
Put the girls in their final resting place. Seem to be looking good. Added an aquarium heater to the main tank and an aquarium pump. I also made a Co2 setup from 2 empty milk cartons, yeast, sugar, water and some spare aquarium tubing attached to the back of the fan to disperse the Co2 evenly around the crop.
I'm pleased with the way things are going now so I hope things stay good until the end!
Feel free to drop any comments or questions.
Update next week, take care folks!
Ok here's the weekly Sunday update. The girls are thriving. I have them on a 10 min flood every 48 hrs which seems to be ok. So, yeah, really please with the way things are going this week. another 2 weeks and I'll flip them.
Well, weekly update here. These girls are absolutely flying this week. Really pleased with the way things are going. I've flipped today due to issues about the height of these girls will get. The temp is around 26c lights on so I'll probably drop to 20c for lights out. I've also added a dehumidifier to the groom as I noticed this morning it was near 70Rh (Which could have probably been sorted with a defoliation but I'm doing these au-natural) :)
Girls still looking good, I took off some of the bigger leaves from the bottom of the plants earlier in the week and they are still flying as you can see in the pictures. Next feed I'll start adding big bud. I'm really looking forward to seeing these girls start budding which should be by the end of next week now they are under 12/12.
See you next week! :)
Happy Sunday everyone I hope you all had a good festive period. Here's the weekly Sunday update with a few pics just to show you what's been happening this week. The only thing I've done different this week is added Big bud coco to the reservoir and as you can see from the pix, the girls are loving it. They look really healthy and happy. It's really nice to see the start of the buds forming :)
I started bending the tops back under the net as they are now popping through.
Have a fantastic week guys! Update next Sunday :)
Here's the weekly Sunday update :) I hope everyone had a great new year!
As you can see these ladies are loving their environment and are absolutely thriving! I meant to mention earlier that my water tank has a 120 litre capacity but I'm only doing 90 litres per week as that's around what they are using each week. Nothing more to add really as the photo's say it all.
Thank you if you are following and I hope you have a fantastic week ahead.. Stay safe and see you next Sunday.
Howdy folks! Happy sunday. I hope everyone is ok and staying safe.
Well, weekly update time. Nothing much to add, I done the weekly water change today (I always empty the tank of old nutrients). I'll be leaving it 24 hours for the chlorine to evaporate and the temp to come upto 20c.
As you can see from the pictures, the girls are doing very well at the moment. nothing more to add at this point so see you next week!
Hello everyone, Hope you are all staying safe and well. Here's the weekly Sunday update!
Still nothing to report. Girls are budding nicely. Just done the weekly drain and water change. I've left out the great white and rootcellurator this time just to to see how it goes. This will be the last time I use big bud coco on this grow as next Sunday I'm going to be switching to overdrive for two or three weeks before the final flush. I'm hoping things will get fatter and denser before harvest. These supposed to be done in 50 to 60 days so we'll see how it goes.
I thought I'd just post a pic of the inkbird too which I swear is a fantastic bit of kit.
Have a fantastic week everyone, See you next Sunday!
Hi everyone, Weekly Sunday update here :)
I drained and changed the water this morning and a problem I've been getting for quite a few weeks is the sludge in the bottom of the tank despite me having an aquarium pump in there circulating. It's as if the nutrients are dropping out of the water and settling for some reason (see the pic). If anyone can shed some light as to why that's happening, that would be great.
Other than that the girls are looking good. I noticed one of the leaves has started to turn up so I moved the light up just a touch so should be all good now. This week I left out the big bud coco and replaced with overdrive. I think this is the last time I'll use pk 13/14 as they are only 2 or 3 weeks away from flush.
Everything else is good, PH'd at 6.1, EC is 2700, Room temp is 26c and RH is around 55% so all good there.
Ok, see you folks next week, stay safe!
Happy sunday, back with the weekly update. I hope you guys are safe and well.
Reservoir drained, cleaned and refilled. I replaced the aquarium pump for a stronger one so hopefully that will sort out the problem with the nutrient settling in the tank. when I'd finished with the water change and everything plugged in, it was whirlpooling which the other pump never done so that should keep it stirred!
These are starting to smell really nice now, like a fruity blackcurrant smell. Just a shame they are not fattening up despite big bud being used earlier in the grow and now overdrive but we have at least week left but that could just be down to the genetics of the plant (I'll probably go for another 2 weeks to be honest). They're getting really frosty too as you can see in some of the pix.
Last night on the way up to bed I noticed light coming from the groom. I'd left the light in the outer room on for 7 hours longer than the main lights by accident so a low level light would have seeped in. I'm just hoping this hasn't spoiled the grow.
Well, that's it for this week so take care everyone and see you next week.
Hi everyone, weekly update here.
So, this will be the final week in flower and these girls have a really strong fruity smell. Looks like they have put on some weight since I fixed the issue with the weak pump in the nutrient reservoir. The nutrients are now staying in the water and not falling out.
As you can see from the pictures, the girls are flying! I'm really pleased with the way this grow has gone. Some of the leaves have turned purple which is expected and a few are now starting to look like they are dying off so I probably made the right call giving them the extra week in flower.
I knocked the light timer down to 11hrs to try and mimick shorter days.
Thats it for this week. Next week will be flush week and then they'll be chopped.
Have a safe week everyone.
Hi Everyone, weekly update here.
There's been no change in the girls this week except I just drained the tank and replaced with just plain old water PH'd to 6.1 as these babies are now being flushed and next Sunday they'll be chopped, trimmed and hung up for a few days. I gotta say that I'm quite dissapointed with the size of these to be honest. I really thought they'd be fatter buds but hey ho. I reckon this must have been due to the way the nutrients had settled in the tank but at least I know for next time
I've managed to source six really rare Biscotti 2.0 seeds so that will be my next project and I hope to be doing them under 2 x Spider Farmer SF2000's quantum LED boards.
Have a safe week guys, take care
