I'm experimenting with different lights as opposed to a board, I did this too reach all the areas the board doesn't get to. I put in a new Microled smoke phonics red /blue 150w light, wow, what an improvement, the plant loves it.
transplanted during the dark period, worked well, plant is accelerating in growth rapidly.
I'm experimenting with a 12' self watering pot.
Prepared the soil carefully and soaked with a guano/kelp mix a few days before.
Prepared the hole carefully and laced it with root powder.
I used diatomaceous earth on the soil, once the kelp/guano is exposed to light and warmth, it comes alive.
I devised a new technique for transplanting from a paper cup. First cut the cup on the side and kept it firm with sellotape. (wet soil naturally). I cut out thebottom holdingit overthe hole, placed the cup in the hole cut the tape and slid out the cup, it worked beautifully.
Into the 4th week and the plant is going beserk, currently, I'm only watering around the dome, so as not to overwater the roots.
This last week I did the very elaborate transfer and as per picture, it went off beautifully. I learned a hard lesson, don't fiddle.
I had a mishap adjusting the lights and couldn't quite gauge the moisture in the center of the self watering pot. I guess the nutrient was too much as the tips of two of the leaves canoed down and had burnt at the tips.
I put a dome over the plant for the day to up the humidity and in the evening of the next day sprayed with filtered water lightly.
I must be headed in the right direction as the plant has responded very favorably. Just going to do light spraying and keep the humidity dome for another week.
1)The big lesson here is NEVER use chemical fertilizer, even just a tiny amount, on cannabis.
2) My other experimental lights are working and the whole plant is drenched in light, which it loves. (I'm happy to have flexibility with my lights.
3) I haven't watered the soil since the transplant. The soil is still moist and I expose it to a humidifier and spray the actual plant a few times per day, which it loves.
4) The plant is growing very quickly now and is already developing a side branch.
5) I'm keeping the water in the self watering reservoir at a minimum, just to have the bottom get some moisture, all good so far.
Sucker punch was an experiment in soil, nutrients and lightin, as this was my first indoor grow. I finally hit the sweets spotand thereafter ready to go ahead with a proper grow. I call it my Cannabis indoor growing course. My first serious indoor grow is Nothern Lights x Big bud ryder.
